The story of PFC Allen, if you "don't remember" this part of COD like you mentioned, yes, Allen is going undercover with "Makarov", and he has to do what he's told in order to gain his trust, but Makarov was one step ahead and knew who he was.
His body is left for the Russians to find, and so they think it was an American attack, which sets up the Russian invasion of the U.S. East Coast a couple levels later.

That's exactly what my first reaction was too 😂 I wasn't too surprised though as I know quite a bit of people in each branch, but I was surprised they put that as the first part of the video 😅
We're talking about the same guy who said he saw a dog eating an Iraqis head. Pretty sure a video game portrayal of a mass shooting isn't going to phase him much.

"objectively" is kinda redundant in this argument, since no matter where you go there will be people spouting cons or pros about both rifle patterns, when in the end what matters is who's using the damn thing, the rifles quality in manufacture, and the environment the guns being used in.
besides, no one said ak47 or m4 specifically, just the rifle pattern itself.
the AR pattern has noticeable flaws, so does the AK, in the end it comes down to personal preference, if someone uses an ar all their service, i'm sure they'll develop a bias fur it, and vice versa, simply due to familiarity.

I remember being disturbed by this section when I first played it as a teenager, but that’s the whole point of this section though, and it’s important for the story. Kekka Dake Da I get where you are coming from, but downplaying the messed up shit you’ve seen, with levity is a mechanism used to reclaim some humanity. Read up on actual recorded conversations of soldiers on the front lines. You’ll find this type of seemingly juvenile banter was normal.
The fact that these two can joke about it instead of wrestling with severe PTSD means they were strong. You could look at it as them normalising violence, but that’s just another extreme interpretation and not at all something all vets are to be accused of.
Plus, you know; this is a video game, and they love playing these games for what they are instead of making a big deal about glorifying violence and trauma.

The thing is this mission wasn't just there to make you shoot civilians. It started a war, made you hate Makarov and left the player (assuming they aren't weirdos) with the feeling of guilt.

4:43 little do they know, you can reload after each bullet so you could technically be carrying over 400 magazines at once.
Reloading after any amount of shooting is a really ingrained habit in video games.
Recently played a Ghost Recon game where I had the option to lose ammo on reloading turned on and it's a REALLY hard habit to get out of XD

Like yeah, no shit, it was supposed to be bad and every dude who was growing up when this game came out was already aware of this mission. And I am sure that they’ve already been desensitized to this *fictional* video game at some point in the pasts before. Not to mention they’ve already seen actual deaths and people losing their limbs in real life, along with dealing with all those people that have tried to kill them before (some of whom they might later have been forced to smile and make nice with after having fought them). So I’m sure that these guys have learned to cope with tragedy pretty damn well to have made it as far as they did, rather than allow dark thoughts to overcome them and spiral into severe PTSD.
Hell, the way they cope with the terrible occurrences portrayed here is very much the same way that I’ve seen many nurses and doctors in the trauma wards of hospitals cope with the terrible things that they’ve seen and had to deal with. They just laugh at it. The darkest things that normal everyday people might find horrifying are things that they’re already used to seeing, but they can’t let any of it affect them or their professional performance. So they just find reasons to laugh at or professionally ridicule those dark things so that they can keep going about their day as usual.
These two marines themselves aren't offended and yet a bunch of idiots out there will proclaim this is offensive to X and Y.
It's typical. People who are offended for groups they aren't in and/or don't belong in because they'd end up being the offenders themselves.

Well it would make sense that it would probably be what the new cool thing teens would be talking when they were still in the service.
The original was so heavily criticised for this mission that Infinity Ward had to put censorship warnings on initial launch and before the mission to allow the game to be sold in various countries. Some versions had the mission removed, so some people never actually saw or got to play through this mission.

If your talking about the danger close air strike near the end of the game then i think they wild, I’m pretty sure shadow company is more of a private contractor and not a detachment of the army
@@georgerodger2104 Not only the near end of the game, there's also in Team Player mission where an airstrike was dropped in a building only few meters away from them. There's also in The Gulag mission where Soap told Sheperd to cease fire because the airstrike was too close in hitting their chopper.

That's a bid difference between civilians and military/first responder personell, they have totally different outlooks. The SWAT commander and detective mentioned it briefly in his video on this same channel reacting to LA Noire.
Also this is obviously fiction in this game, so it's hilarious how messed up it is.
They also probably didn't inform these guys the reasoning behind why this even took place in the game, which is hilarious. Context matters (but in many cases, asking for context can get you labelled as racist or some other shit by some people, especially when it involves police related incidents)
Another thing worth noting is that the developers of this game were in serious hot water with multiple governments globally due to this mission. Some wanted to outright ban the entire game due to this one mission, so the developers had to remove it from certain countries' editions and in other countries, there was a disclaimer added that would skip the mission if wanted.

Gamology should've explained the story and Makarov's Plan so that the Marine understands for example why they're using american weapons and guns like the m4 and the m240 instead of an ak 47
Well the game is already fiction in a way, but another question is why is the Russian military using NATO weapon besides the Ak.

@@anthonycruz3843 Just in case you or anyone else is interested in the context: Makarov wasn't acting in the interests of the Russian military, he was acting in his own personal interests. His goal was to incite international conflict, and his plan involved going to an airport and massacring civilians while framing it as a war crime committed by America.
That's why he said "No Russian" as they exited the elevator, that's why they were using NATO weapons, and that's why he let the PFC (who he knew was an undercover American) tag along until the end, leaving one dead American associated with Special Forces at the scene of a war crime.

We experience the favela map in brazil pretty often. Things calm down for a while and then there are ops and bam, it's shooting noises for days, in pretty much that environment, except it's up the mountain and not just a flat favela.

It wasn't an update, that "choice" was forced in by various governments and was almost blocked in the USA as well at the time, luckily they allowed the option to exist.
EDIT: I forgot to mention that some countries outright banned that level from being in the game in the first place, hence why I said we in the USA got lucky. The devs were given an ultimatum/choice from various countries. Essentially boiled down to, include that level and your game is banned from x country, remove that level and everything's fine. The countries that were okay with the level still wanted a disclaimer put in place.

@Edcel Jann M Corre AKs are not exactly accurate in a distance especially if you are firing in succession, have stronger recoil than other ARs and jams frequently if not well maintained. So if you're in a tough situation and have to pick a rifle to trust your life with, having an AK in your hands means you're pretty much fucked up.
Di on what? AKs and ARs are both fine rifles that have their own quirks, pros, and cons.

@Edcel Jann M Corre Not particularly. There is a reason why they have been phased out for more advanced Kalashnikov type rifles. They are legendary mostly for the amount of conflicts they've been involved in, mostly. And the fact that they are simple to use and disassemble, and can be literally buried and still function, years later. Good for insurrection. I dislike them because of the mode selector, I hate clicking down twice for semi auto.
@@MrMouth27 Never tried any aside from a couple of handguns and shotguns as its rather hard for rifles to comeby in here. Anyways, I have some friends in the military but they always complain just about everything about AKs, but considering our poor military equipment those AKs are probably some chinese knockoffs anyways.

Why? That wouldn't affect them because they havent had time to feel something for the character. They see it as a random soldier bc they dont care about the story, they react to the war not to the characters or story of the game.
