This is an awesome movie... It will give you a good look at the middle class family of North India. My favourite character from that movie is the old Grandma. Ayushman Khurana is doing smashing movies one after another. He started his carrier from a reality TV show and then he became a host and now he is on his way to become a superstar. His story is unbelievably inspiring.
Super funny movie!!! A must watch! Indian Society thinks that once one of your children is old enough to get married or have a kid, the parents shouldn’t have kids anymore. So it’s kind of an embarrassing situation when it happens 😂
Not really true. My grandmom had 11 kids. When the youngest was born, the eldest was 25. My grandmom was 44. So this social trolling is more of a 21st century construct.
shubhra183 good for your grandma, but general society this is the case. One of my family member had an abortion because she became pregnant after her oldest daughter became pregnant with her 2nd son, and the only reason for the abortion was because of the fear of society’s taunting about her being pregnant while her daughter is too.
@@queenpink12345 like I said this social embarrassment is more recent. A hundred years ago, there were no contraception and abortion was not an option. It was much more common for uncles and nephews to be same age. In 2005, my aunt got pregnant when her eldest was 15. She did not get an abortion, but she was teased and trolled, not as much as in Badhaai ho, but still. So the society has become more conservative in this regard in recent years. Especially in the urban middle class.
In yesteryears it was very common. Mother and daughter would be pregnant at the same time. Remember the mother would be in late 30s or early 40s and the daughter would be 16 or 17 . My grandma became a grandmother at age of 45.
@@nehalamba2747 Yes that is true. It also led to abominations like child widows. One of my distant relative was a child widow. She used tell us how her mother would make what we call dashmis. These dashmis were made out of jowar flour and bananas. My relative would put a 2 or 3 of them in pocket of her half-saree. She was supposed to eat only one meal a day. So the dashmis would serve as a snack in the evening
The greatest irony was she used to design jewellery for people yet she never wore any. She was widowed at tender age of 8 or 10(she didn't remember exactly). She had a shaved head and never knew any pleasures of life but was hardly ever unhappy. She never moaned about her troubles and was full of life.
Even if the elder son is 30, she could still be under 50. She was a small town girl. Not very educated. Probably got married at 18. Had the first son by 19. If she looks older, its because of the hardships of life. She is probably in her late 40s. Pregnancy at that age, though rare, do happen. On another note, the actress was 55 when she played this part.
Guys you took looks seriously. She is really life above 50 but movie character is 40s (being fertile as per woman cycle in movie). It's comide movie and satier as well. Spelling error excuse.
Pls review this movie u will love this movie very beautiful movie emotional love comedy drama this movie will touch ur heart i love this movie not any one negative comment come on this trailer or movie love this movie and thank u for react

Akanksha Patwari is it still like that? That she is supposed to eat one meal a day
@@nehalamba2747 She passed away long time ago. I was still in school when this happened. She stuck religiously to one meal a day regime till her death
