Keep your head up Forrest!!! That Title is going to come soon enough and it will be amazing for this whole community to see you lift a trophy. We all believe in you and never give up!!
Thank you for posting this Forest! It takes a lot of courage to be transparent about the hard/bad days. This past week , I practiced multiple times, felt good about the progression of my physical game, and I went out in league and shot 450. First time I’ve bowled below 500 in league in over a year. It was such a kick in the nuts. Seeing the human side of such a skilled and talented professional reminds us that the bad days are universal for all bowlers. You’re a phenomenal bowler forest the title will come soon 💪
Yes, the bad days happen to all of us! That's why I feel its important to also show my struggles. Every athlete in any sport has good and bad days. The bad days are unfortunately necessary for all of us to improve. I appreciate the support and the kind words.
This video is going to be the turning point in this channel. Rarely does a pro at anything post their worst days. This makes you human that everyone can relate to.
Out of every negative you must take positives out of it. For a start you didn’t give up, you kept going, you kept battling till the end & most importantly you kept your composure. We’ve all had days when everything that could go wrong did go wrong on the lanes & this was yours. I’ve no idea how long you’ve been a PBA pro but learn from this experience, dust yourself down & get back on the lanes & go again. The journey to that PBA title is a tough voyage, but keep focused, keep the faith, keep being positive & that dream of lifting that PBA title trophy will be yours.
Forrest, keep right on grinding! I don’t care if you made bad ball switches or didn’t play the “proper part of the lane”… It was you in that moment and not us. You are still an inspiration to us all, and if anything we should learn that it is hard to make the right moves at a regional level. Whether it’s next tourney or a year from now, you already are and always will be a hell of a bowler!!
I agree with some of the comments in here, much respect for posting this video. It was brutal to watch because we’re all pulling for you. But it shows your character to let us see your challenges and how you continue to learn from them. You are awesome man. Thank you!
You'll be good man! Don't stress it! Think less when it gets that frustrating, just go out and do what you know how to do. You're a way better bowler than I am, but when it's not going my way or making sense I go downhill fast and getting out of that headspace because I'm so hard on myself and super competitive. I get it, the subtle frustrations shot after shot. Love the competitiveness, but also love how you're able to digest and find the positives out of it all. You'll get yours, 220 been helping with the health and that's only going to make things easier. You have big things coming and I can't wait to see it! GGs
We've seen pros bowl sub 140s on tv multiple times.. You made it to matchplay so it coulda been worse! Perspective is key. Keep going, like I know you will. Bowled against PJ at a Tourney this year in Citrus Heights, he shot a couple 300s but took 2nd. Dudes legit
Tough sledding there man. We've all been in this position. When things are going sideways like that, best thing is to focus on the spares you should always pick. Missing a 3 pin is unacceptable. This is a main reason why I don't use my spare ball for anything but the 10 pin, and occasionally the 6 pin. Using the strike ball to get the 3 and or the 6 is the move. Especially on slick patterns as this looked to be. Oh well. Regroup and learn from it. I enjoyed these two videos.
A true test of character is not when things are going good. It's when you have to dig deep and come back from the depths of regret. No doubt you'll bounce back. Keep your head up bud. There will be more 8 baggers in your future. This I'm sure of.
That’s what killed me in a tournament on Saturday. Spares, but also exhaustion. Started off extremely strong with 265, but then it all came crashing down with my spare game. I’ve come to learn that bowling is just as mental as it is physical. Gotta have a good mindset to do well. Keep your head up Forrest. You got this!
Damn man.. I'm glad u got a positive outlook on this. Question tho... were u talking to yourself about what happened tho whole ride back home? I do it ALL THE TIME when I bowl bad.
Watching you and bowling in the same summer PBA Experience league, I know how good you are… This is what I experience every week, thank you for showing your humility… Keep working, it will come… I am a big fan…
The silver lining is that you're still young and there are many more of these events to come. You'll be holding up a trophy in no time. Keep it up and good luck on the next one !!!
If I could offer one piece of advice to you (coming from a 225 avg and fellow PBA bowler) it would be to SLOW down. Your approach and release is IMO one of the best on the pro tour. Very athletic. For example in your first match you have a 100 X better athletic style of bowling compared to your opponent. He bowls like a beginner. I don't think he has an athletic bone in his body. But he stays in his lane. Does what he does. At times you tend to really speed up your walk to the approach....especially between the 4th and 5th step. Maybe even try a 4 step approach. I really feel that 4th and 5th step transition is why you tend to get wild. You have that little shuffle that you do and it is the cause of your issues. Again all imo.
your 130 games reminded me of times in league where i was physically tired (mainly due to not eating before going bowling or did something that got me sore) and especially mentally tired, like u are desperately trying to find something with either ball change or standing in entirely different spots, and when u miss u dont concentrate on sparing, ui just throw type of games appriciate the low lights vids, relatable and also there is no highs without the lows
Little story to tell you. I bowled every regional in the south from 2005 to 2008. In 2008 I missed 7 Sunday and cash cuts by less than 20 pins every week. Then I had work truck problems and couldn't bowl for 2 months at the regional level. Almost gave up my card and just quit. I got told by some other bowlers just to keep trying. I went to Surfside in 2008 and won my regional title. So trust me I know the grind and that title will come! Your too good of bowler for it not to come.
Ouch! That looked REALLY tough! Sadly, Storm/Roto/900 don't make anything just like a Purple Hammer! I feel like a Zen U would have been pretty good in your hands here. You mentioned the over/under was a bug problem, but the Zen U would have given you a unique shape that none of the other urethanes coyld have done and maybe saved you a little from the over/under. Who knows? Anyway, best of luck on your next outing!
I thoroughly enjoyed watching your performance. As a bowler who began just a year and four months ago and has yet to enter a PBA tournament, I can relate to the challenges. Recently, I experienced both highs and lows while trying out a sport shot pattern over the summer. I'm an avid viewer of your videos and often wish I could emulate your skill on the lanes. This particular video, however, inspired me to take a step forward - I've decided to participate in my first challenging PBA Scorpion pattern tournament. Your video provided a valuable perspective on an important realization. Despite the perception that skilled individuals don't encounter difficulties or setbacks, it was evident that your challenges on the lane were relatable. The instance where you switched to urethane showcased that even professionals face moments when their control isn't at its best. This resonated with me as I've encountered similar situations where the ball doesn't seem to respond, leading to a cycle of switching equipment without success. Ultimately, the video underscored the value of understanding that struggles are universal, even among very skilled bowlers. You got this fam, there’s a PBA Title just waiting for you! Go get it !!!
Hi Forest! I liked the music score that you used in this video. 😊. Ken It is a learning experience and it sounds like you have the correct attitude about your experience and it something to build on going forward. Ken
Glad you like the music Ken! I've definitely learned a lot from that experience and will move forward from it. Onto the next one. Thanks for the support!
Not much you can do when the other guy is throwing urethane garbage and getting strikes on every half or high hit. I think the real take away is to not let it get to you and focus on yourself (the lucky strikes will make you press, either consciously or subconsciously). Pins will fall the way they're going to fall, just have to execute to the best of your ability. Also, straighter is usually greater if you can manage it.
That was brutal Forrest. Sure looked as if urethane was the best option. Having said that, the left side appeared to be more consistant then the right on that pair. Man you had no room for even a half board miss on the right. As you said--it was a learning experience.
I agree that I should've thrown urethane the whole time. Left side definetely had more miss room but also the purple hammer ball helps that a lot as well. Regardless, I need to be better next time.
Forrest, I'm sorry for the result of the match. But you kept grinding, that's what counts. All experience is good experience, even if it doesn't frel like it in the moment😊 You'll get your trophy and we'll be along for the ride. Congrats on making the cut and keep up the great work.
just go 2h. no just kidding dont you dare do that. keep on it! love watching you bowl! you are on such a steady plane and its mind blowing. Keep having fun! that is all that truly matters!
As someone who also feels like quitting every time I bowl, Im curious to know if you figured out what was affecting your accuracy? Ik after Ive had time to calm down, I end up trying to figure out what went wrong with myself, and what I can do to fix it next time. Probably the only thing that keeps me bowling. Figuring out the puzzle that is my bowling form. The mental aspect of keeping myself on track is quite a challenge.
You have a fantastic throw man! I really enjoy watching (just came accross this channel a couple days ago). Sorry you got stuck in that funk during match play, I unfortunately laughed at some points because I have been there before more times than I would like to say. Especially on some of those missed spares, you aren't alone! You will come back with a vengeance next tournament, I have complete faith! Also, have anyone told you that your technique reminds them of a right hand rhino page?
straighter is greater... I would have stayed in the Phase 2 or Summit and played up the track... the over/under was ridiculous in that pattern, I feel for you. Keep your chin up and grinding, the wins will come and spares make a big difference when strikes are fewer. Best of luck going forward. :)
That Myles kid Forrest bowled against looked like a super young version of Mike Scroggins, who won a decent amount on tour about 15-20 years ago. Hard to beat a left hander who can just play ditch with thane.
Forrest, I have 100% been there. Once things go off the rails like this, a kind of shell shock takes over. You feel like a zombie just staggering though it. And even though striking and sparing are technically two totally different games happening at the same time, bad on one seems to affect the other. I feel for you. The most important thing is did you learn something? If we could rewind that match and put you back at Game 1/Frame 1, what would you do differently?
Yes it's for sure an awful situation to be in. If I could go back, I would commit to throwing urethane on both lanes and playing the gutter. Reactive got me in a lot of trouble.
I hope Forest doesn't beat himself up too much after this one. He is a phenomenal bowler and should remember that. Also, someone correct me if I'm wrong but it seemed like lane 5 had a dead spot at the BP downrange around 7-9?.....soon as he moved it inside of that it looked okay at least. 6 had a decent spot to get to there, it just looked like he was trying to find something that worked for both lanes and they were too different to do so. 🤘........still cheering for him as always, can't wait to see him on TV one day.
O'le Miles got in your OODA loop early and you couldn't get back to your happy place. You will get there sooner than later I'm sure. Keep perfecting that mind, body, ball connection.
I think you need to start treating each lane as its own “identity” and use a different ball on each lane when necessary. The urethane looked great on the right lane- 2 for 2 in the pocket strikes. I think you should have stuck with it on the right lane and used a different ball on the left lane.
Forest, you’re a talented bowler. I am a retired bowler that has had success right and left handed. I wish I had your release back in my day and a sponsor, I would’ve killed. I can offer you suggestions if you want them. One thing I noticed is right lane was hooking more than left. Also, sorry to say this, get more consistent on hitting a mark. As you state bowling on a easy house shot can spoil you and ruin your consistency. I would also try to shoot straight at more spares, especially if you don’t get a read on what the lanes are doing. You could’ve survived maybe game 2 and 3. Keep your head up and keep practicing. Hell, show some videos on how you practice, some might be interested in that.
Yeah bro, just like everyone else is saying man, keep your head up, those were some tough conditions bro, you literally had no room to miss, absolutely none, just a little glitch on the drawing board brother, back at it next tournament…..you got this my man!!!!
You looked so defeated. I've been there. I'm not pro but I finally hit a steady 210 average in league and then for some reason fell apart lately and can barely average 180. Learn from it and you'll bounce back. Pattern shots are tough and this was nothing but a lesson learned and that's more valuable than anything else.
Good to see you push through adversity I think maybe too many changes too quick but as someone that could prolly score only 80 on the best of outings keep your head up. Days like this are days you have to reflect on what got you into bowling and the love of the sport rather than this particular game.
Usually for over/under reactive..... i usually go to urethane, cuz i know that will hook compared to the reactive balls only reading a novel all day and sliding to the 10 pin cuz it never sees the lane.
HA! .. I haven't watched this yet .. but I have been waiting for it .. on pins and needles .. got my fingers crossed that you won .. but judging by the title, I am nervous.
A lefty throwing a purple Hammer right down the gutter...where have I seen that before? Oh yeah - every PBA event. Doesn't seem fair. Keep on trucking and best of luck to you.
Moving right and stay behind ball maybe. After reflection what do you think. Always amazed how on pba patterns ball speed is critical even when you have correct ball and zone.
Hey mate, at least you have made it where you are now and that’s really impressive to a lot of people includinf me as it’s my dream to get to where you are
This might be a dumb question But I wasn't bowling on it But why didn't you move more in Say like 20 to 10 or 5 And swing it a little bit To give you some missing room Cause it looked like you had to be perfect
that looked like a ridiculous out of bounds that formed from about 6 and rightwards on from that point....not the area of the lane you want your ball to be shimming.....
Hey Forrest, you are an extremely talented bowler. I have no doubt you will get your first pba title soon! Keep up the good work! Im curious though, what was the name of the pattern you bowl on?
Tough to watch Forrest but very demanding shot to compete on. Whatever does not kill you makes you stronger! Or is it more frustrated? Only this time but you will prevail soon!
Game 1: I think you needed to move right and reduce your hand. Too much shape for the ball to combat the lack of friction, it would have also allowed your ball to pick up a bit earlier and preventing those washouts. Tough battle. Game 2: You were in the blender... Urethane was the right call... and moving right... but when you're in the blender... seeing this move is hard for most if not all at that point. Sorry you had to endure that. Game 3: You're comment about quitting bowling... that can't be an option... You're too good to quit. Please don't let those thoughts creep in. Tough game and... tough outing. But never forget you are ELITE... and remember there are those that will always support you.. especially when you are down. You have too much skill to not be a champion. I know it will happen and I will be here for when it does. Coaching note: What I am certain that is needed... is a good back-line coach or trusted person who is competent in bowling(Not Your Wife)... adding an extra pair of eyes for you. Going at this alone is hard to do... Even the pros have ball reps... and here you are trying to wear too many hats while attempting to not foul up in your delivery. Your mind needs to be clear... pure... and sharp... it needs to think about only one thing... delivery to a location and nothing more. When you're deep in the tank/blender... you start to act erratic and in a panic. Which leads to constant ball changes... and constant frustration that mounts from a choice that was compounded multiple times... which causes you to lose your focus. Was it the shot or the ball... did you hit your mark... or didn't you... did you adjust properly or didn't you... if those are all yes... Then and ONLY then do you change balls... and then that process starts again.
Some times you’re the bug some times you’re the windshield. There are times your game just doesn’t match up with the shot. All you can do is use this as a learning experience and come better prepared next time.
How can that be when the pattern generally stays the same throughout? It's not a variable at that point. Shot making is the variable. You don't make it to match play by not matching up with the pattern.
@@NotQuiteEpic because you bowl better on different patterns if you have a ton a revs a very dry condition isn’t gonna be the ideal pattern for you.. if you normally play 10 to 5 but 5 is out of play then you have to adjust while you can do it it’s still not gonna be the best condition for you. Everyone’s physical capabilities are different.

Can't just post highlights all the time. That's not realistic. Have to show the bad days as well. Thanks for watching!

@@ForrestKritzer A Pro should always have a 'sanded' urethane ready to go if needed. Wish you the best at your next competition.
Good bowling brother! Those lanes looked brutal. Strong effort.
Appreciate it!
Keep on making match play. That championship door will open. Keep working hard .
Yes sir 💪🏻
Loving your content Forrest ! Made my night coming home from leagues and seeing this upload.
Glad you enjoyed!
Thanx for sharing the video Forrest. Look forward to watching all videos even if it's not your best stuff.
No problem. Thanks for watching and for the support!
I think you need to start treating each lane as its own “identity” and use a different ball on each lane when necessary. The urethane looked great on the right lane- 2 for 2 in the pocket strikes. I think you should have stuck with it on the right lane and used a different ball on the left lane.
Nice shooting there deadeye!! Atleast you made the cut!! Get ‘em next time
Forest, you’re a talented bowler.
Don't beat yourself up over 1 day. You are a great bowler win or lose, and terrible days will happen. Get em next time! Love your content!
You looked so defeated. I've been there. I'm not pro but I finally hit a steady 210 average in league and then for some reason fell apart lately and can barely average 180. Learn from it and you'll bounce back. Pattern shots are tough and this was nothing but a lesson learned and that's more valuable than anything else.
great content great achivment already to get in the finals. keep your head up:)
Thank you!
Your time is coming my man stay 💪🏾 strong
You probably already know this but you let your frustration get the best of you. Keep grinding! ❤
Everybody has those days where you just can't buy a shot.
Everytime I think I shot very poorly, I Just think of my Idol, Dougherty's 100 game on tv
I bowled in PBA league with you at Dublin! I didn’t know you had a channel, that is awesome
i can feel it when everything goes wrong. lesson learnt, always bring high performance ball
Moving right and stay behind ball maybe. After reflection what do you think. Always amazed how on pba patterns ball speed is critical even when you have correct ball and zone.
PJ doing PJ things. I bowled on the same pair as him in a tournament about 4 years ago and the guy just doesn't miss
I was having my phaze II flare out too much and not hit the pocket today in league. :[
I thought someone had me on hidden video…… Seriously - you are a stand up guy even posting this. Tough day.
Tough luck Forrest. Time to break out the F%&K Bowling shirt. Lol Get em next time.
Stay strong brother!
SO sorry man. This was the same shot at Reno for the nationals. Super tough! Always the next one.
Yeah it was brutal 🙃
Great bowling, you gave it your all. Congratulations making it to match play, many others didn't. The PBA title is coming.
Thank you very much!
Hey mate, at least you have made it where you are now and that’s really impressive to a lot of people includinf me as it’s my dream to get to where you are
Forrest when I'm bowling in a league how do I stop crossing my body
Cool video talk tech bowling bowling ball game tournament Forrest did you win your first pba title
As everyone else has said, thanks for posting this! 🙏
Good onya mate for posting this. Takes courage. Your time will come .
Was that urethane ball the Rubicon uc3??
Yes
This might be a dumb question But I wasn't bowling on it But why didn't you move more in Say like 20 to 10 or 5 And swing it a little bit To give you some missing room Cause it looked like you had to be perfect
that looked like a ridiculous out of bounds that formed from about 6 and rightwards on from that point....not the area of the lane you want your ball to be shimming.....
Hey Forrest, you are an extremely talented bowler. I have no doubt you will get your first pba title soon! Keep up the good work! Im curious though, what was the name of the pattern you bowl on?
3-4 right with your feet and target with urethane ball might have helped, gotta start it way more right at the arrows
Looks like guy you were bowling fouled at 12:40
Keep it up it will come and hopefully in bunches
Coaching note:
What I am certain that is needed... is a good back-line coach or trusted person who is competent in bowling(Not Your Wife)... adding an extra pair of eyes for you.
Damn bro. Man had you got into thane earlier and stayed aggressive you’d have been in there. All good though. We’re all trying to get better.
Myles fouls in the 3rd on left lane by a half foot and gets the X.
I noticed that after the fact as well. The foul lights were broken so can’t even protest anything. Sucks.
purple hammers up the ditch really are a cheat code
What was oiling pattern?
38ft Wayne Webb Pattern
Chin up keep doing what you do
Run Forrest run.
Hey Forrest where’s Chris’s been ?
Some times you’re the bug some times you’re the windshield. There are times your game just doesn’t match up with the shot. All you can do is use this as a learning experience and come better prepared next time.
How can that be when the pattern generally stays the same throughout? It's not a variable at that point. Shot making is the variable. You don't make it to match play by not matching up with the pattern.
@@NotQuiteEpicsometimes people have bad days
@@NotQuiteEpic because you bowl better on different patterns if you have a ton a revs a very dry condition isn’t gonna be the ideal pattern for you.. if you normally play 10 to 5 but 5 is out of play then you have to adjust while you can do it it’s still not gonna be the best condition for you. Everyone’s physical capabilities are different.
It was absolutely another learning experience. Onto the next PBA regional in Oregon coming up💪🏻
looks like Miles had a better form
It looked like you didn’t move much to the left
Bro I thought the purple hammer was illegal now.
