Maybe I'm too old to understand because I remember when In Flames just started, but I guess I don't understand the definition of Metalcore if a Melodic Death Metal leader of the Gothenburg Scene qualifies.

Hi AlucardQuest, I don't think there's too much difference, melodic death metal is a sub-genre of death metal, in flames is indeed a pioneer of melodic death metal but Black Dahlia murder and Children of Bodom sound more death and melodic nowadays in my opinion, like Metallica is called thrash metal or heavy metal , that's all just my opinion but back to listeners who think that cross-genre is just music or lifestyle, for this video it seems more suitable to be called metalcore musically. cherss 🍻🍻🍻

Metalcore = bedroom artists poor attempt to mimic Meshuggah riffs on 8 string guitars while clean singing with pitch correction and autotune and call it a feature. Melodic Death Metal = Inflames, At the Gates, Diablo, Dissection, Wintersun etc.... all the good stuff from 80s 90s when musicians actually learned how to perform live.
