Je suis accros aux chorégraphies de Al Blackstone.......Ce soir 23 janvier 2023 j'en ai revu certaines qui datent de 7 ans et c'est toujours aussi bien. Bravo à tous les danseurs , c'était génial.....
Oh JT and Robert, how I miss seeing these two dance together. My hope would be that some producer will put together some sort of show for these two, before JT gets too old. I also hope their relationship lasts a lifetime. I adore these two, together.
This is the first time a piece of dance can consistently move me to tears. This is my 4th watch in 3 days and the 4th time I’ve been sobbing by the end. Reminds me so much of me and my dad who passed in 2014.
This routine makes me cry every time I see it. It's supposed to represent a boy and his mentor. The mentor dies, but leaves his legacy to the boy in the form of everything he's taught him so the boy carries on the legacy. BUT it can also be seen as the relationship between any young child and any role model, parent, grandparent, father, mother, brother, who has taught the child so much and passes on, yet still leaves everything they taught with the child who has to grow up with it....ugh!!! bawling!
All the influences that make up this piece: Sammy Davis, Jr . . . Gene Kelly . . . Shirley Temple and HER "Mr. Bojangles," Bill Robinson . . . Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Bob Dylan, Arlo Guthrie, and all the people who covered this beautiful little song by Jerry Jeff Walker so well . . . they all add up to a pastiche that is actually somewhat emotionally overwhelming for me. It's so beautiful I almost can't handle it. I think this is such a beautiful summary of the various cultural points of reference we have about this name, this character from music and dance. And that last image - the handing over of his most precious possession, Mr. Bojangles' hat, and then his vanishing - a potent message of the ultimate gift of mentor to apprentice. What is given is done so with selflessness, but ultimately, the student must travel down the road alone, lessons (hopefully) well-learned and well-earned.
So it took an adult and child to give me some ACTUAL Fosse? I think they did him proud. I loved it! And the kiddo's Fosse hand at the end- nailed it! Yasssss
Obviously you don't know the real Fred Bojangles, he had a great wardrobe, no cheap tags, all brand name garments, maybe you should meet Freds granddaughter, and daughter, but that's not their real Fred Bojangles, and attitude is beatitudes 5:15...

One of the best duets of all time! Sooooo cute!
This has got to be my all time favorite SYTYCD routine.
That routine was lovely, it's even better than I remember it being.
The best!!!!! Al Blackstone is the greatest❤
I can't help but smile and have that warm feeling within whenever I see this piece. Congrats, Al Blackstone, JT, & Robert!

They have the most precious relationship. Like Paula said they bring out the best in each other.
JT was always my favourite ❤
I go back and forth on my favorite dance pieces I’ve ever seen. This is always in the mix. What a performance.
I can't stop smiling seeing them
This is really my favorite performance from the entire next generation season. It's Mr Bonjangos! *singing*

One of my all-time favorite routines. I've watched it many times. Brilliant, Al.
what an amazing young man.... and what a gift he has
When you imagine this routine as a father and son dancing it really makes you emotional!
And the fact that they look alike makes it cuter
This was an amazing piece especially with these two dancing it! Al you did an amazing job! And JT and Robert mesh soooo way
So it took an adult and child to give me some ACTUAL Fosse?
