Can you do soemthing on refresh where the data is in a flat file and needs to be modeled into a realtional database and then updated both core data and lookup tables all needing updating
As You Gave Your Credentials on the Azure Database Option I have a Question here That in Advance option we had the option named Import and Direct Query and by default it will take Import only like in you example. If i choose Direct Query, will it work the same way ?
I'm pretty sure you can do all transformations on desktop, publish it and then use the published dataset as a source to create a report so separate model & report, I'm not sure tho if this would create another dataset when connecting to the exsisting one and only creating report?
Hello Mr. Fernan, I am currently working to do an Managing Daily Improvements dashboard by powerBI. My current challenges as of now is making my data live meaning any changes made in the data source will be updated in the dashboard. Does dataflow allows this live connection?
I have created the dataflow by connecting with odbc connection where I am able to see the data in service. But when I try to connect through the desktop to the same dataflow the table seems to be empty. Why this occurs?
Hello Fernan Thanks for the wonderful content. Can we see the data inside the dataflow..I had created one from a Google Big query and using it in the Power BI dashboard and have some missing data.. so not sure if it is something missing at data flow and I am unable to see underneath
Hi Fernan! 1. What if we’re working with big data and tables with millions of rows? Wouldn’t the refresh time out or not and if so, what is a solution? 2. Can we query for a certain time period or year, etc to minimize the initial data refresh?
I have created the dataflow by connecting with it Azure Databricks. However I can see the data in dataflows but Can't see anything when I load the data in Power Bi. What can be the reason. The same issue you are showing in the video when you load the data first time. Showing empty rows.
VERY clear and practical guidance, as always Fernan - thank you
Best video on Dataflow that I have seen so far
100 percent agree
Thanks, great tip for the query source conversion in the transform view
Its good to see the ABC between the A and C. Some just does not put in context.
There are lot of Power Bi videos that does not capture this.
Excellent explanation. Thanks for the video
Thank you very much for the excellent video!
only good and to the point video i found on dataflow....thank you

Thank you!! is it possible to create an automate report based on the DataFlow just created in power bi services?
Thanks Fernan You do a great job breaking down complex issues to very understandable concepts. You have helped me a lot
Appreciate that Merid, thanks for watching!
@@SolutionsAbroadit's possible to create power BI report from data flow directly in power BI service not in Desktop?

Excellent explanation to connect the database through dataflow
So helpful and just what I needed! Thank you

in your personal opinion and experience, is it good practice to DFs as a sources? In my company all the sources are from DFs....

Your videos are fantastic bro
Is it possible to use Python in the dataflow to transform data? Thanks
Simply superb.
Can the dataflow connect via live connection? So that I don't have to refresh the dataflow and just refresh the dataset
I believe so! However it requires a Premium license; docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/transform-model/dataflows/dataflows-directquery
Thank you so much fernan, very helpful
My pleasure!
I have created one data flow and using in power bi desktop but in power bi desktop it is showing empty table .. is there nay specific reason ?
Refresh it

Very useful. Pls, share more videos on online Data services like Azure Data Factory and Power Bi online. :)
Hi Karthik, lots more Power BI Service videos are coming up soon, dont worry! thanks for watching!
Hi Fernan, Is any Option to download the pbix file what you are showing in the videos?
Hi Syamala, thanks for watching! Yes of course, they're all available through my Patreon page here: www.patreon.com/posts/demo-files-52538104
