brilliant , straight to the point, recap on essential basic appliance electrical tests.
first of all thank you not thank us backseat have really knocked it out of the park with these training videos they are complicated enough so that customers won't try things themselves but easy enough for us gas engineers to understand lol as usual Baxi make it easy
Great refresher video. Priceless information well done.
Thank you. Absolutely brilliant video.
Amazing videos keep up the good work Graham👍
clear , simple, brilliant. Thanks
Very good video just refreshed my mind
Thanks 😊
Brilliant learning .. well done Baxi.
Another brilliant vid. No other manufacturer, as far as I know, is doing anything comparable. Appreciate the effort. Looking forward to more.
Graham these videos are top draw , enjoy watching them and I'm learning all the time .keep up the good work. #lockdownlearning
you all probably dont give a shit but does someone know of a way to get back into an instagram account..?
I stupidly lost the login password. I appreciate any assistance you can give me
@Maximo Quinn Instablaster ;)
@Sonny Ronin I really appreciate your reply. I got to the site through google and Im waiting for the hacking stuff now.
Looks like it's gonna take a while so I will reply here later with my results.
@Sonny Ronin It did the trick and I now got access to my account again. Im so happy!
Thanks so much, you saved my account!
@Maximo Quinn glad I could help xD
👍😊 great video very helpful thanks
Excellent video thank you
great!!!!!Thank you Sir
Worcester CDi Heat only, run under reverse polarity. Discovered this recently, changing checking an external pump.
I have been watching your channel for a long time, I have baxi solo 2 pf the overheat lamp lights up and he does not want to turn on thanks for any help, pump ok work.
Brilliant 👏👏👏
Great video mate
Great video again. I have a question about the short circuit test,a reading of 20 ohms on a 240 volt appliance according to ohms law would be drawing 12 amps and would surly take the 3 or quick blow fuse out why would this be allowed to be such a low reading? Many thanks
Absolutely correct but boilers do not have an appliance resistance anywhere near 20 ohms if they are safe. The value of 20 ohms is a recognised figure within the industry for appliance short circuit. Some appliances e.g. electric immersions have a resistance of approximately 21 ohms and therefore draw nearly 12 Amps. Of course these types of appliances should be protected by a 13 Amp fuse.
Jocelynne on behalf of Baxi Heating trainers thank you for getting back to me and clearing that up 👍
Brilliant video thank you. My hearing is terrible can you confirm when voltage testing between neutral and earth you are saying that up to 15 volts is acceptable. Many thanks
Hi Freddy, glad to hear you're enjoying Grahams training videos. I can confirm yes 15 volts is acceptable on Neutral to Earth.
@@BaxiBoilersUK 0 to 15 I was always told
Well done baxi 👍
Great video, I am watching all of his videos from the beginning. Precise and packed with lots information. No other manufacturers help engineers like Baxi does. Thanks to all trainers at Baxi
Excellent
quick question. You said if you're doing the short circuit test, a good reading would be anything above 20 ohms and anything less would indicate a short circuit. but straight after you said a on a baxi duotec a good reading would be between 6 and 800 ohms. but 6 is 14 ohms less then 20 ohms?
I had to re wind that for the same reason. Did you ever get the answer.
Great videos very good learning sessions keep the good work 👍👍
Hi when end of this video during you test ac live and N and live and earth nothing is coming in your motemeter
What would you define as a “known earth source” ?
Would my sisters false metal leg qualify. :)
not if she has wellys on
@@mysteryedgar510 that made me chuckle 😄
god help me for the last 42 years been doing it wrong
You shouldn’t have any voltage on the the n to e test 0 not 0-15v
Great videos pity your technical helpline cant answer emails
books say short circuit test over 100 ohms
Jay shree krishna
you say short circuit with less than 20 ohms, then you contradict this with duo tech example of 6-800 ohms is good.
Makes no sense to me !!!!!!
Where in TB 118 is the gas operative instructed to perform a 'safety
touch test' or an 'earth loop impedance test' or a 'polarity test' - the
ONLY 'procedure' derined in TB 118 is the Safe Isolation procedure !
This video does nothing more than add to the confusion within the
industry because TB 118 is ill-conceived, misguided, misworded,
inaccurate and contains an unforgivably dangerous bunch of words - it
should be no more than 2 pages long and explain what is in the title of
the TB - a SAFE ISOLATION PROCEDURE ! The objective is simple - prove
the test gear good, isolate the appliance, prove the appliance is dead
and then perform a confidence test of the equipment to prove it is still
good. Th edocument has opened the flood gates for test gear
manufacturers to sell kit for checks that are NOT required to keep the
gas operative safe ....
