I don’t know about other half assed states but here in NY, you can’t get parole unless you admit your guilt. I don’t think other states do either which means he has admitted he did it and that he was sorry and he is no longer a danger.

Admission of guilt will certainly get you a reduced sentence or make the jurors believe you’re sympathetic but no state has a statute that requires that for parole or release. The only requirements are that you follow the sentence of the judge. Can a judge order someone to write an apology before they’re eligible for parole? Sure. But it’s rare and it’s not per state.

I am going through this exact thing right now but with my Uncle. I put him in prison when I was 19 and he did things to me from the age of 9 until 19. He spent 7 years in prison and as soon as he got out he convinced most of my family that I'm a liar and it never happened and I just wish that he would admit it and apologize anything but I know that's never gonna happen so I try to move on. I have thought about doing a light detector test and printing them out throwing them at those family members because of how angry it makes me it's always worse when you know what happened to you and the people that are supposed to love you and support you don't believe you.
