- My thoughts on how to become a freelance video editor, how to find clients for video editing, how to price my video editing services.
Doesn't matter if you want to learn Premiere Pro, Davinci Resolve, CapCut or any other software, these are the essential steps for any beginner video editor.
If you don't know how to start with video editing, these are the steps that I took to become a freelance video editor.

Hey bro! Really awesome content there! I also want to learn editing for doing something like gaming montages as a freelance job(Maybe I will hate it in the process, but who knows :D), but I dont know from what to start. There is so much info about that on RUclips, everybody is trying to promote their channels and sell some tutorials, giving information bit by bit, and I don't know what exacly do I need at first. I watched some basic all around tutorials how to use the program, but that's all. I considered buying some educational courses, but I'm not sure if I need it. I'm also from Ukraine, so I dont have much money to pay for it, but the biggest problem for me now, I think, is that I have no footages to work with. I would like to try working as a youtube editor even for free, just to be able to learn and experiment with Premiere pro and Photoshop. Do you know where I can find such work or maybe can you share how exactly you started learning?Maybe It will be an interesting content, I mean when you didn't know anything about editing, long before you landed your first editing job.

I will definitely do a video about it.
But if you want to try to do gaming montages, finding footage should not be a problem.
Download OBS, turn on your favorite game and just record it.
Personally, when I started I learned from Finzar RUclips channel, if you want to do gaming videos I recommend doing the same.
But usually You just have an idea on what do you want to do and then you Google how to do it.
Don't try to watch some big tutorials about everything at the same time.
Just learn question by question as it comes up in your editing.
@@KyrieQHD Ty bro, your advice is really useful! I watched some Finzar as well, probably should watch some more of his content, he is really cool! And yeah doing everything bit by bit is important to me, because when you start watching all these tutorials, you just get overwhenmed by amount of info and lose your desire to do anything at all :)

It depends on you and the client actually.
You can work hourly, you can work per on project basis (the most often), you can price depending on the footage provided to you, or the length of the final video.
I work on a project basis, but I do count the price with the approximate amount of hours I will spend on it.
