    I am not a professional sound engineer, producer, musician, or vocalist, etc. I have not done any scientific research, measurements, or in-depth testing of any kind; just my own listening, comparing and internet reading/research. I have limited, real-life experience with recording, mixing and mastering gear. I have been involved since my teenage years with various churches as an amateur sound booth technician.

    Unfortunately, I only discovered your RUclips channel last year. I have been interested in hi-fi and music for more than 45 years.
    Your reviews are very comprehensible and honest for me and I have already bought several devices based on your recommendation.
    I can understand your decision very well. It also involves personal self-reflection, which requires some courage.
    The important thing is that you and your private environment are doing well and that you can live with it.
    I am already looking forward to the next reviews, which I will also enjoy reading.

    Change is necessary. Glad to see you taking more time for yourself. 👍
    Have you ever thought about creating a “team”? Even having a partner that can help do menial things or to help facilitate some of the processes you go through can help. I know there’s the money aspect of that and I’m sure you’re not making $$$$ from this hobby 🙂 but perhaps that’s something you can consider for the future.
    Another thought might be doing more RUclips shorts. You talk about products that may not interest you or think it won’t interest your audience but a minute long quick take about something could help viewers too. Those products don’t have to undergo an extensive review process but those thoughts and opinions would be considered helpful too.
    Anyway, thanks for taking the time to keep us up to date.

      I've mulled over the idea of a team of some kind. Don't really have anyone close by that has interest in helping. Expense of hiring is something that the funds my channel brings wouldn't cover.
      As far as shorts those are unique but not really something I'm interested in do at this time.
      Thanks for the suggestions.

    Maybe shorten the videos, less editing.

    • @TheHonestAudiophile
      @TheHonestAudiophile  Месяц назад

      Considering that I don't do "editing" that isn't the issue. The only "editing" I do is adding links, end screen boxes and the description. The issue is that there isn't enough time in the day, week, month and year to fit in all reviews as a video.
      I have a process that I follow that I am comfortable with, have been doing it this way since day one of my channel. Viewers, subscribers and supporters know what to expect from my videos and I hold myself to those standards. Written reviews are easier and faster to do when it comes to my processes and not all products deserve a video review in my opinion. I record videos with one take, no editing. If I make an error or an issue arises, I start recording over again till I am content with the video. I know this isn't the normal way but it is how I am comfortable. I don't want to and I don't have the time or effort to sit and sift through all the various clips to cobble a video together. I have tried that and it is more time consuming for me than doing it the way I do. Thanks for the comment.

    You don't have time to edit, but you will take 3-4 hours to reshoot stuff. This is why you should be a professional to review stuff, if you aren't using audio and visual cues to help your editing process and know where to make cuts quickly and easily then that is your problem, you are choosing to do the review in the most difficult way possible. You shoot in one take, and if something happens you clap a bunch so when you look at the wavefom in the video editor, you know where to make your edits. You should shoot and edit these videos with a script and using editing cues, but you refuse.

      Maybe do occasional live streams instead? Can do those whenever you feel like it. There might be some AI editing tools that make things easier for more formal reviews. Your audience will stick with you. Not sure if the channel makes money for you but you might reinvest some of that into getting some production help to sidestep the drudgery aspect. (Edit -At the end you mentioned live streams which I think is the best move for your sanity.)

    • @TheHonestAudiophile
      @TheHonestAudiophile  2 месяца назад +1

      All funds that are received for the channel go back into the channel to purchase gear to review or to help produce videos better, ie. microphone and lights, etc.
      I have no desire to do anymore editing than I already do and that isn't going to change. I have a way I do my channel and I've made my reasons clear. If you wonder why, please watch the Get to Know playlist or read the about tab.
      No mentioned doing live streams in the video and they will continue as my schedule allows.
      Thanks for the comment.
