In Canada we can’t share evidence while continued investigations period. We also can’t share evidence before a trial in court period. Therefore what evidence we can share are some informations but not all before trials and during an open investigations… why can’t India understand that our system here are different from India… India are openly criticizing Canada yet there are many Indians living in Canada and so many coming illegally under the studied programs. So why are India putting down our government and making Canada looks bad. This is so unfair and unacceptable. India ought to look at its own political and sides in India. Look at the mess in the democracy and how they handle the doctor who was raped so brutal and how that case is being handled and the family thing amount their political mess. Stop pointing your fingers and trying to bring down our country. That leads to backlashes amount the Indian population here in Canada. It seems that India doesn’t want to truly understand our judicial process and our systems in Canada. 🍁 instead the Indian media spinning this around and making a unfair excuse and mocking Canada. Modi Govt's heightened response to the Khalistan issue is to use it to bring to the fore Muscular Foreign Policy vis-a-vis the foreign countries and to use it for its vote bank politics. It started from the day Mr Modi took oath in 2014 and invited for his oath-taking, not just the Heads of the Govt of neighbouring countries but also Lobsang Sangay, the PM of Tibet in exile; this wasn't repeated in 2024.
India's response to the charges of involvement in killing or an attempt to kill from Canada and the US have been very different; it is natural for PM Modi and his Govt to not take a heightened and trenchant response to the US which they believe they can vis-a-vis Canada.
It is wrong to say that PM Trudeau went public without first taking up with the Govt of India which he did around the G20 event, but India didn't take it seriously leading to his opening up in the Canadian Parliament. In this instance also, Canada has come out in the open after the refusal of Govt of India to cooperate, Ajit Doval communicated this to Canadian officials in Singapore; the Washington Post reports.
Modi Govt's 'GHAR MAIN GHUS KE MARENGE' model combined with taking international with what it could do in Gujarat has come back on Modi Govt. Mr S Jaishankar and Mr Ajit Doval should have brought some sanity in running foreign affairs in Narendra Modi, Amit Shah, and a few in RSS instead of letting things go the way these were going!

1. I notice a tendency to conflate BJP's political interests with India's strategic interests. Otherwise, why would The Wire form an editorial opinion based on leaked Canadian Intel? I doubt they would rely on the US perspective to form an editorial opinion on Gaza or Lebanon.
2. Canada is holding provincial elections, including a key province (BC), on the 19th of October. The electoral calculus is clear. Further, since the federal election is next year, it makes zero sense for Mr. Trudeau to let the issue die down. Finally, the Sikh vote in Canada is more organized compared to the Hindu vote. Unsurprisingly, a party would curry favor with a more organized voter group.

There is a bad history between India and Canada on cooperarion on extremism that includes Canada refusing to handover Air India criminals who killed more than 300 Indians of all religions.
