I'm really enjoying your modding videos and appreciate how and why you are doing certain tasks. My vid request is "why and how to convert older mods to 19". Like for a tractor, what are the steps needed to make it happen.
I have a tractor that I want to separate the cab from the rest of the tractor but it's not allowing me to do it in giants editor is there any other way?
So I got a disk model I made in blender, but Idk how to add the raise and lower triggers for the blades, or make the wheels turn, or anything like that. Can anyone help me out?
Hi, With the animation stuff on the auger (the grey cylinder) how to you stop stuff like that from showing in game when you convert while keeping the animation

Would love more videos on GE . Would love a video on on lights for a mod converted from 17 to 19 . Also a video on modDesc work again fs17 to fs19 . Videos on shared wheels etc would also be great . I think a series on GE would be great . I know a lot of people get put off by it and I know loads of people that want to learn but have looked on RUclips and not found videos that are slow enough to learn from . Most videos are do this , do that , paste and drop and there you go and goodbye .... . Anyway great video and keep up the great work
Hi, do you have any tips for a machine that will run Giants editor? I can't find specs for it, and pc / laptop specs confuse the crud out of me anyway :/ Seems minimum game specs are quite low? The minimum intel processor for FS22 is quite old? Would a laptop with integrated graphics run it? ANY advice would be appreciated.
I know you do a lot of mod tutorials but could you possibly do a tutorial on making fields properly in GE? There are several on YT but they are all old using older versions of the editor. I got real confused trying to follow them as well. It looks to me like there is a right way and a wrong way to create new fields I just can't figure it all out. Keep in mind I'm old and need a hand holding tutorial LOL!
Very very true when you say right and wrong way, see lots of that when it comes to modding, unfortuanetly I have not done anything with maps, so I don't know anything about that. Possibly check out how the in game map is done!
How do you change the controls for a machine? I downloaded an excavator mod but the person who made it has no clue how to make proper controls apparently, so i would like to change it so i don't have to mess up the keybindings in-game.
In the XML file for the mod, I personally haven't done much with controls, but you'll need to figure out in the XML which each one is and the move them around how you like.

Hi RDAllen, first of all, thanks for your videos, they helped me a lot. I've a problem when assigning the shader, e.g. pressureDeformation to a tyre. I use albedo color as base color, let's say 0.002 for all the RGB and the tyre it's black, but when I add the shader it becomes grey, no matter the albedo settings and no matter if I turn off the wear setting to 0. Can you help me with this issue? I've searched in the web but nothing helped. I've also tried different 3d programs to export the i3d but with no results. Thanks in advance and keep it up!
If you are creating a tire the UV mask need to be set to rubber, I don't know if I have a video on that or not, I do have some other videos on working UVs wich would be the same process.
Nope i'm not there yet. I need to know the basics of the basics. When i open GE i'm stuck. I just want to start a new map and just put everyting in like copy and paste.
When I tried to open the mod it closes giants editor. It does it for any mod i have tried. What could be causing this?

If it’s not a separate piece, which it probably is, then you would have to export the model to blender or some such program and separate it that way.

All done in the XML once you have it setup in the i3d.

You mean the grain animation from the auger? It needs to be set properly in the xml, temporarily you could just set it to be not visible in GE

Are you working with it in your mod folder? You don't have a second copy in the mod folder do you?

Grayish? As in the texture on the model? Or the model isn’t there? Always make sure you unzip the mod!

I don’t know about integrated…. Maybe on low settings. I’d stick with the recommended settings!

I've been getting Y-Translation of component 1 (node 0>), should be 0. What does this mean I try to fix it but it gets messed up
That means the translation (location) of the main (first) component 0> needs to be 0!

its not that simple you have to meet qualifications for Giants so basically it needs to be the same brands that are in the game

Start by editing an existing map! Starting with a brand-new map is going to be a VERY STEEP learning curve!
