The Terrifying Man Left Behind for China to Face

  • The men of the 7th Infantry Division, known as the Bayonet Division, were on the verge of being overrun by the superior numbers of Chinese Communists.
One of the many GIs caught under the surprise night attack was Private First Class Jack Hanson, a machine gunner with Company F, tasked with defending the two hills at Pachi-dong, Korea.
The intense enemy fire and the roar of explosives deafened Hanson’s buddies, but they kept firing clip after clip. Magazine belt after magazine belt. As the enemy advanced towards his position, Hanson’s men were wounded and required evacuation and treatment.
Instead of running for safety, he covered everyone else’s retreat. Knowing more of his comrades would make it back if they had cover fire. Amidst the chaos, Hanson stood firm, his machine gun’s barrel running hot after nonstop fire.
He stood alone against the tide of enemy forces, a lone sentinel facing adversity. After expending all his ammunition, Hanson took his pistol and a machete, ready to honor the nickname of his division: The Bayonet Division.

My great uncle was with 2 battalion 38th infantry and he was my hero as a kid. He had so many ribbons and medals. He had the silver star, the bronze star and the Purple Heart…people have forgotten the Korean War and how horrible and deadly it was. He never told me how he got any of his medals he would always just say “for being a good boy” was always his answer until one day thanks to the great internet I found the citation! He was wounded by mortar fire and and carried wounded men to a helicopter in multiple trips whilst also engaging attacking enemy with a BAR. But the more research I do on Korea the more I realize this war should not have been forgotten…it was a savage blood bath.

I have my grandfathers war knife from Korea. He told me if it wasn’t for this knife he wouldn’t be telling me this story. Thanks giving night the Chinese flooded the boarder. He told me there was so many Chinese you couldn’t see the ground and they looked like ants swarming a hill. Out of 647 from his division alone twelve made it out and six were walking. He was one of the six. The maze the Chinese set up for him as the retreated south was insane and known as the Gauntlet. United States Army Second infantry division. Served 1950-1951 Porfirio Felix.

And how many Koreans did he kill in Korea?
And you miss him? Why don't you build an empathy bridge from here to Korea?
Imagine the British occupying the USA as a colony. Then Afghanistan defeats the British and occupies the southern USA, while Canada leads the north to independence.
And now imagine that someone in Afghanistan misses his Taliban father, who previously "bravely" killed US citizens in the USA in order to secure Afghanistan's "influence" there.
      Are you even awake?

My uncle Rudy was in the 7th in Korea. 7th Division, 17th Regt. He used to tell my dad stories about the human wave attacks. They would always come at night. He would line up every gun he could find and when they came, he would mow them down like grass and they just kept coming. They got caught with the marines at chosin. He survived all that only to be murdered in the late 70s. My dad passed in my arms 5 months ago. I hope he had a happy reunion with his favorite brother.

Nazism, with its rise proved effective. Socialism under Stalin proved effective. Zionism proved effective, democracy, a constitutional republic proved effective, especially with capitalism to face nationalism, with communism to the east and capitalism to the west. Royal and colonial capitalism rose to face the treat of nationalism. The end of the world wars proved, through sheer might or through Consequential results, what the future might hood for the masses

Vietnam the hippi generation actually turned on the soldiers themselves as if they started the war or caused it when they simply did what was required. Whether it was right or wrong is hard to say. Life is not so simple as right or wrong choices always. Sometimes its, this choice will hurt right away but will allow greater benefits over time, this one will feel good in the immediate but slowly things will rot and get worse. Vietnam was the choice where it hurts right away, but we don't know what the full end result of it is, except the Soviet Union did collapse, and now Russia is collapsing again. The first time I heard of him and that battle was late 1991 from one who had been there. It was the first time I saw one of my uncles drinking alcohol. It was after I got back to the USA after Desert Storm, my uncle and I went fishing. RIP Uncle Frank.

The same unit(31st Infantry) would go to destroy the the PLA's 81st Infantry Division and mauled elements of the 94th Infantry Division at the Battle of Chosin. They delayed the PLA's advance by 2 days giving the Marine 1st Division time. Only 1,050 Soldiers survived out of the 2,500 strong Regiment. Only 385 were able to still fight. The rest were wounded. A Navy Chaplain would later call them cowards. Which stuck for decades until China provided details of the battle and losses. The unit would be later awarded the Navy Presidential Unit Citation.

I can't imagine actually caring about my country enough anymore to willingly die for it. Not when politicians leave our borders open and bankrupt our future fighting endless wars for special, foreign interests.

Weird it's like its history there's a lot more to history than just 5 minute instances of heroism. It's always good to know what lead up to the specific battle and why they're where there. And he's used the “clickbait” title to grab you're interest. And it's not clickbait it would have been click bait if the video had nothing to do with the title this did so therefore not clickbait.
