    I use exaggerated articulation as my foundation, my typical speaking technique and support it with the other the other 6 tricks. As a result I have one, maybe two minor stutters a day, if that. Fluent now for 2 months. Can't sing Marcus's praises enough. His content is a game changer.

    Well, before now, I stutter alot and my blocking was wayyyyyy bad , but I notice when I talk to myself I do not stutter, so I assume the person or people I am talking to is me, and it worked, I observed at that time I was so very relax, I try as much as possible to be all calm always, no tension, the trick is the fear of stuttering is what really makes you stutter, it's just our brain messing us up.
    Thanks Marcus your therapy has helped me a lot more, mostly the hand gesture and word stretching.

    Thank you Marcus for your video and tricks. In my case, over articulation and using hands are the best.

    In some cases, i find it better to drop the 2nd letter rather than the 1st. most notably in words that start with st or sd like start, stutter. I stutter on these words literally every single time unless i break the word apart or drop the t

    Marcus what do you think instead of using those tricks what if you let your stuttering mentality die? You let go of thoughts.Dont plan what you are going to say.Just stay in the moment and let go of anticipation thoughts.I know this is easier said than done but has proved to fastest technique in eliminating stuttering.All the best.

      But the thought and anticipation happens because of the stutter. You get anxious because you stutter not the other way around

    • @speakyourmindmethod
      @speakyourmindmethod  9 месяцев назад +2

      That's a good thought, and perhaps it works for some people, but I find those kinds of ideas to be lacking depth in large part because they go against the grain of human nature and how the brain normally works.
      It's hard to fool your brain into not anticipating. It's usually much better to show your brain proof that it can chill out; and this is done through the act of continually improving and slowly making the fluency connections stronger than the disfluent ones.
      As that happens, your brain will eventually realize that it doesn't need to anticipate anymore.

    Hi Marcus, first of all thank you for your content! I’ve been doing your free stuttering program for 2 weeks now and I’m looking forward to seeing the results.
    I’d just like to ask you how to get over the initial choking up that happens in speaking situations. I find that I can be in a relatively peaceful mindset even moments before I’m asked my name for example, but as soon as that happens, I choke up and quite literally nothing comes out of my mouth and doing any techniques in that moment feels impossible.

      Hi I may not be Marcus but it definitely have some experience myself with that and I still struggle with that but basically what I realized it's basically a breathing in before you speak taking a pause and breathing in and then speaking That might help I'm still trying to figure that out also but usually when you're nervous and stressed out you tend to choke up and freeze take it slow and then slowly let your words out after breathing

      If I can suggest, these trips from Marcus might help, if you over articulate and whisper when start speaking.

      When you feel those chokes in those situations, try using the hammer tool that Marcus talks about or try breathing out, breathing in and as tou speak use your hands

      Thank you for the comment! What you're experiencing is very common. The way out is to commit yourself to a plan (you're already doing that with the workshop), and through that process you'll find the answers as you go. It requires patience but then the more diligent you are with constantly working toward improvement, you will see breakthroughs happen. You got this!

    Hey Marcus thanks for everything ur content especially the 75 dya sprint is amazing i highly recommend for anyone who wants to end their struggles for one and forever.however i have questions regarding moduling,i have been moduling Dr J.P. but unfortunately i dont feel like im speaking like him like his tone word stretching.... So can u make one video on how to literally imitate someone? Anyone in the comments can answers if y'all know it...❤❤❤

    • @speakyourmindmethod
      @speakyourmindmethod  9 месяцев назад +1

      When using role-models like JBP or anybody else, you are free to only imitate certain things and ignore others. For example, you could mirror the hand movements, body lanaguage, and pauses of a role model, but then speak slower or at a different pitch that is more natural to you.
      Role models are there to help us but don't let them get in your way.
      And btw, i introduce the role model concept in Module 3 of the sprint program so feel free to check that out :)

      I have just started the 75 day sprint and highly recommend this programme. Everything comes from Marcus is very useful for me. Thanks
      to Marcus for that.
      As for imitation, as I did not get this yet, I am not able to say anything on this.
      Hope everyone who stutters could be helped by Marcus videos, as I am being.
      Greenlings to all from Brazil.

      @@speakyourmindmethod I agree, imitate them during a practice session, but don't let it get in your way. Here's a tip that I find helpful when imitating on RUclips as per your recommendation, I slow the speed down to 0.75 and the turn on the subtitles. This way I can get the best out of imitating great speakers.

    Hi Marcus I have a quick question When I practice my tool training and when speaking general should I always use rhythmic breathing for instance combining it with articulation And all tools in general?

    • @speakyourmindmethod
      @speakyourmindmethod  9 месяцев назад

      Not necessarily. Rhythmic breathing / shortening the phrases is something you want to learn and get good at, but it's not something you need to use every sentence. When in doubt, keep it simple and focus on one idea or tool at a time when practicing.
