If Aileen doesn’t care about marriage then great! But if she does, then my heart hurts for her. After dating for a decade, if she gets married now, a part of her will wonder how much the unplanned pregnancy influenced that decision- how after a decade of love and certainty from her, their marriage is ancillary to and a result of their child.
Hopefully their family gets all the blessings! Maybe this child will make Devin appreciate the love he has, enough for him to do the respectable thing, and make her his wife.
this is so well put! it really puts the idea in mind that after all this time, a baby was the thing that made him finally decide to marry her. like that's not exactly what you dream of when you think of getting married, that it only happened because of the baby :( i feel like as happy as she must be, no one wants to go baby before marriage...

Reality is babies aren’t always planned, while events like marriage can be planned at any point in life. You can still be committed to someone without being married. Also everyone views traditions differently, especially marriage I feel like.

It's crazy that after over a decade he still has cold feet about making her his wife, but not about living together, becoming business partners, and now becoming parents.

Hell, for all we know they could be waiting until their child is old enough to be present at their wedding. I miscarried during the holidays so anything baby related has been hitting right in the feels. He would have been 21 weeks today and I saw on Aileen’s insta that your baby is around 18 weeks. We could have been mommies together!

My husband proposed 4months after me giving birth to our first born, we now have 4 children and just got married last year in October after 13 years together. Ring or no ring, it’s the commitment that counts.
@@sunitrakahu5214 think their point is most people who are afraid to get married are scared of the commitment of marriage but have kids knowing commitment is something theyre already struggling with. i personally work with kids and see a lot more kids now days needing therapy and are coming from broken homes or having diminishing views on relationships due to their parents dysfunctional relationships because this trend of people having kids when theyre not ready or dedicated for that type of commitment especially in their own relationships. but it is what it is at the end of the day been watching aileen and deven for a while and theyve always seemed like good and kind people who no doubt will be kind and present parents.

Like I love you guy's content but at this point him not marrying you is starting to look more like a red flag than a cute little inside joke you guys have. It’s very easy to read him, especially how he gives that awkward smile when she brings up marriage in the videos. Dude did the same smile for this video. He even says I don’t think we’re ready to have the kid, his podcast episode with her even says he doesn’t want kids.

However, I do think they need to chill out a bit since they have commented the same thing, basically, 3 or 4 times already on this video and it’s sorta feels like they are projecting their views on what a relationship should look like.
Maybe this is something @crystalsmith9038 will grow out of as they gain more experience with long term relationships but it’s not always a guarantee.

I hate to say this but I'm gonna. How is a baby less commitment than a marriage? Listen I don't know if Devan is too comfortable now like 'she's too invested, she's not going anywhere' but I wonder what is taking so long. If Aileen is dropping hints, and she has in past videos, that's an insight for us that there is nothing in their lives that is specifically holding them back from marriage at this time. Aileen until that man marries you, you need to give your child your last name. You don't need to have a different last name than your child. Paperwork to prove you're the child's mom. An emergency at the hospital. To be asked if you're the big sister, or babysitting, etc. And god forbid you actually break up. If the man wants his child to have his last name he will make the woman his family. He will not make the woman have to choose between her own last name or her 'boyfriends' for their child. That's what the majority of these unmarried women are doing 😂 No marriage, be in pain for 9 months, be in pain during and after birth. After all they go through, they still give the last name to the boyfriend. It doesn't make sense to me either.

Congratulations, I guess. I know you guys are going to be great parents, and I genuinely do hope everything goes splendidly. However, I am nevertheless expecting the channel to fall off after he or she is born. Just kinda how it goes, and I've seen it before with a channel I watched that had kids. The quantity and especially quality just went down. I don't fault you guys though; your kid absolutely will be and should be your number one priority and the center of your life. I'll just enjoy the next 8-9 months while they last.

There’s absolutely no reason for them not to get married. It’s actually embarrassing seeing her defending him so bad on her social media. She deserves better and so does their unborn baby. I say this with so much love and concern and from experience. Marriage isn’t more of a commitment than a baby. Its stability and a safety net for many things especially if things go wrong

Hey, just to clarify, in Canada, even if you're not married, both parents can still have legal rights to their child. So, the mom automatically has full parental rights, but the dad might need to legally acknowledge paternity (like signing a birth certificate) to make sure his rights are recognized.
When it comes to custody or visitation, both parents can apply for that, no matter their relationship status. It’s all about the child’s best interests. And of course, both parents are still responsible for child support, even if they’re not married.
In terms of inheritance, kids have the same rights whether their parents are married or not. But if there's ever a dispute, there could be some extra steps needed.
So, if Devon and Aileen haven’t done this already, it’s good to make sure everything’s legally set, especially for things like custody or child support. But at the end of the day, it’s all about them being there for their kid!
