Nice to see you both again! Congratulations Sheryll on your fair entries. They’re beauties. Love the completed crow, good job Michelle! It’s infectious seeing all your WIPs. I’m looking forward to #4.
Thanks so much Debra! We are enjoying doing the videos! Hoping doing the videos will help me finish some of these WIPS but no promises. Lol! Hope all is well with you!!
Congratulations on placing first and second place! Beautiful stitching! I forgot last time to say, Congratulations on the new grandbaby! I have never been to a retreat yet but hopefully soon. That is also why I watch flosstube. Thank you ladies for doing the videos they are a treat to watch.
Thanks for your sweet reply! As I said .. my friends don’t stitch and when I talk stitching all they hear is blah blah blah! Lol! I feel sorry fir them 🥴🥴lol!
Thanks so much for watching our video! I have Autumn Quaker on my wish list. Primrose Cottage Stitches came out with such pretty fall patterns. Happy stitching!🩷
Hi ladies! Hope Hurricane Lee didn't hit you too hard. Michelle, congratulations on the birth of your grandchild! Your crow stand-up looks great! I'm finishing up a 4 part set that I plan to finish into stand-ups, and I'm a nervous wreck about it. I'll be watching that Vonna tutorial many times before I dive in😊. Probably Helen D's too!Cheryl, even though there wasn't much competition, congratulations on your fair ribbons! More importantly, you are showing non-needleworkers the beauty of our craft, and are encouraging those needleworkers who are doing solitary stitching at home, thinking there's no one else in my area doing needlework, that they are not alone! You are encouraging them to put their work out there too! It will be interesting to see how many entries will be at the fair next year😊. You both showed such beautiful patterns and wips today! Each one was a treat to see. As for the pineapple, I believe it is a symbol of welcome, stemming from colonial times. I want to say I've seen a pineapple included on a colonial Christmas dinner table, but I'm guessing the pineapple may be included in November because American Thanksgiving is in November and it may be a tradition for some people to include a pineapple on their Thanksgiving dinner table as well. In my part of the country, it's not a common decoration at Thanksgiving, but I'm not surprised to see it because of its association with "welcome". I enjoyed seeing all of your beautiful things today! Be well!
We escaped Hurricane Lee, thank goodness. I am enjoying being a grandma very much. I was so happy how the crow turned out. We have so much more to show.🩷
Thank you for sharing with us. I am in the uk, so like you , I couldn’t ever afford a retreat. Floss tube is definitely a way of finding friends. I visited PEI a few years ago, for 1 day 😂 And loved it! Keep doing what you’re doing. Xxx
Great catching up with you ladies - the Mary Barres is going to look lovely - and I love the ones that you'll be making for your daughter - such a sweet gift. Have a blessed weekend. :)
I bought my first Victoria Clayton silks to stitch Winter Rose Manor because it felt like a special stitch that needed special materials. As Michelle mentioned, it's a bit of a splurge, but the luster of those silks, and how smoothly they stitch is incredible! Can't wait to see how your project stitches up! Also, congrats Sheryll on your fair ribbons! Those pieces are incredible.
Ladies……. Great video! Thanks for keeping me company! Beautiful stitching and finishing. I’m impressed by it all. As for planning…that part scares me. I really don’t like starting projects but once I do it’s good. I too have bought a book of days and literally wrote in it for the first 3 days in January…..😂. Found it in the drawer and laughed. Michelle - your crow is perfect! Great job finishing it! I’d definitely have to keep it out year round! Sheryll - Congrats on your fair wins! They’re awesome! I have letters from mom as well and it scares the bejesus out of me too. One day, I’ll kit it up and just do it but until then, I’ll watch your progress lol I’m thinking about you two and praying the hurricane veers off track and out to sea! Take care ladies! 💗💓💕
Oh my gosh, I can relate to the book of days. I was really good for about 3 months and then game over. We will see what I do with this. I told you my plan on letters to mom. I have started the piece, but the specialty stitch on January is slow going. It will probably be an anniversary gift, not a wedding gift, but we will see Lol!🩷
Congratulations Sheryl on your wins. Going from two entries to four in a year is great. I don't know of any fairs like that in Newfoundland. Could your November pattern have colourful corn instead of pineapple, they are really short to look like corn. I think the poppies will look great, the problem with most monthly series is that they are made by American designers so July and November don't work for us. Great stitching ladies and I look forward to watching your next video.
I'm so glad you found us! I love flosstube. We don't really have a stitching community, so flosstube has been my window to other stitchers. We have lots to share, so stay tuned!🩷
Another awesome video you two! I love your idea to change the November block to poppies. I am wondering though if maybe those aren't pineapples but turnips? They wouldn't be harvested until late in the year and maybe have something to do with Thanksgiving? I really have no idea though haha. And Michelle, your Quaker Crow is awesome! I have a soft spot for crows too :)
Why do all the fun people have to live so far away?!??! ❤❤😂 Tiffany from stitching with the twins and I replaced cranberry with a dmc. I don't remember what it was now but we couldn't find cranberry anywhere!😊
It's so great to see you both! You both showed so many beautiful projects. The standing crow is so cool, I'm going to keep that idea in mind for some of my finishes. I love the Liz Mathew's snowflakes and the fabric choice is fabulous! Congrats on your ribbons from the fair! Cricket Collection is a favorite of mine too. I'm trying to finish up her Walk in the Woods this month as I'm ready to stitch Christmas too. I told Lee that he better not wreak havoc up on PEI or we might not be able to go back!lol Hope the hurricane will go out to sea but if not, take care.
Hey Doreen! Looks like Hurricane Lee won't be too angry when it gets to us I was nervous doing the finish of the crow with my mother-in-law because if we made a mistake, I would have to stitch him again. Watching Vonna's tutorial really made it easier, and of course, so did having my mother-in-law. Lol!🩷
Yes, I hope that "Lee" does not hit you or at least as lightly as possible. Congratulations Sheryl on your two wins. Love the Quaker crow Michelle. I hope to do this one day. Sheryl - maybe you can contact the designer at Heart in Hand about the pineapples. Your redo to poppies is great.
Nice to find you fellow Canadians. I’m not far from Waterloo. I’m going to go back to your first couple of videos and see where you are from. Guessing east coast somewhere. By your name Bay of Fundy? Off I go to see if I’m right. 😉. Where did you buy your. Needle and Flax fabrics?
It's great to meet other Canadian stitchers! You are close with your guess of the east. I ordered my Needle and Flax fabric from Embroidery Marketplace in Calgary. Traditional Stitches in Calgary also can get it in. It's beautiful fabric. 🩷
November, stupid question maybe are they really Pineapples could they possibly be root vegetables? I agree I couldn't do pineapples. Great flosstube ladies.
Beautiful work! Thank you!❤

Thank you! Happy stitching 🧵
The Poppies make much more sense... even to us in the United States! That will be beautiful!
Love the letters project . Another fun video.
A pineapple is a symbol for welcoming. It brings warmth , affection and hospitality too. A reminder to cherish your friendship the whole year through.
Thank you so much! That's great to know about the pineapple. 🩷
Thank you for sharing the meaning of the pineapple. Now I’m torn. Happy stitching 🧵
Often in 18th century American decor, pineapples play a prominent role.
