Neel 43 Trimaran, the video of the first sea trials with Eric Bruneel, Neel Trimarans shipyard CEO.
The concept of a wide catamaran-type nacelle on a three-hull platform is NEEL... A great idea that has allowed the shipyard to build up an incredible reputation in 10 years and to restore the good name of trimarans. The NEEL 43, announced last June, is the smallest model of the range, replacing the 45. More compact obviously than her big sisters, the 43 will still have a high freeboard and a very similar nacelle in terms of design. The central hull adopts a pronounced rocker to be able to increase the volume. The load capacity is very impressive for a trimaran, reaching nearly 3. One innovation: the use of bio-sourced and recyclable materials. Nearly 30 units have already been ordered: the launch price, at under € 300,000 ex-tax, is undoubtedly one of the reasons for this... The first model is slated for launch in April 2021.

God thats not saying much... I didn't really get a good look and I don't know why they didn't take the time to show us WHY it's new and better but I didn't see it in the clips. Thats one on of the knocks on Neel, It still looks very cheaply made compared to other, even the Rapido 40 looks better in spite of their being less width. Just an opinion... you know how that goes ...

Lagoon 45 bulkhead issues. Can just imagine how cheap the French r the Neil has to be very iffy

imho the Neels are seaworthy boats for real sailors. spartan comes to mind. where the Neels lack is the quality of the interior finishings. definitely, the finishing are not of the highest quality, and I can foresee having to replace/refit much in a few years. what have other people to say about this?

I agree, but I see myself as a sailor and not a posh hobby indoor architect. The Neel 47 i was sailing on was just as you stated, but it also was hull#1. It is functional though. I think Neel delivers much bang for the buck, but as mentioned, dont be too picky then. Hope to charter a Neel 45 this year after a test sail on a Neel 47 two years ago. I liked SY Clarity's review and also the comments below.

@@janwantstosail also, I wonder how the Neel Tri would handle in northern stormy seas. I would expect some heavy slapping against the bridge deck, and the open cockpit would be a challenge in stormy ice-cold spray.

@@robgrune3284 The Neel 47 did not have any bridgdeck slapping even in short and choppy seas. The hulls are quite close to each other, so no big waves can build up there. We were out in March 2019 in La Rochelle after stormy days and it was no issue there. For the high latitudes: I like warm climates, so I will take the barefoot route, but enclosures are abailable for all types. Also diesel heaters can be ordered, so also no issue in my eyes. Since the helm is behind the cabin, you are already better protected than in many other boats. Also the nav station in all neels is upfront with a good almost 360° visibility, so you can control the autopilot well from there too, if it gets cold and nasty. My main concern as mentioned are furniture quality and reselling value/depreciation. For sailing, the Neels are a blast.

@@janwantstosail that is all good news. the ability to sail out of a storm is a big advantage. thanks for posting.
