We at MEGAVENT can proudly say that we are the inventors and pioneers of this kind of Retractable Roof System in India.
We started importing Swimming Pool Enclosures from Europe in 2011.. When we found that the market was not open for swimming pool enclosures in India, we tried and converted the swimming pool enclosure into Retractable Skylights for Residences and Commercial spaces..
We saw architects struggling with Glass Fixed Skylights. People living in homes with Fixed Glass Skylights were facing huge task soon after installation. The vendors who installed the Glass skylights were not well equipped for regular AMC of those skylights. So it was left leaking after some time when the rubber beeding and sealants would get brittle due to heat. The interiors were getting spoiled.
That's when our innovative idea, of using the swimming pool enclosures for the roofs became a big hit with the Architects. There was a huge challenge in the initial days. Arresting leakages, using right rubber, fixing the right motors, using right power transmission for the moving motors, smooth tracks for easy movement, different designs for different architecture, etc. Soon in no time, we learnt the tricks of the trade and designed the best Retractable Roof in India..
We did not get any leads in 2012-13... There were no buyers even though we had a beautiful solution. We participated in exhibitions, displayed in some malls, we advertised in various magazines and spoke to many architects all across India.... Thats how people started noticing this kind of new and modern Retractable Roofs with the Profiles Powder Coated to match the doors and windows and overall aesthetics and clear/Embossed Polycarbonate sheets. It was light weight on the roof slab, so no extra time and cost spent on repairing the present structure.. Ahmedabad was the first city to accept this new concept from Megavent. Later other cities caught up.
People started using this new concept and liking it... Simultaneously, copiers started copying it. Some copied it 100% and some others copied only the shapes. MEGAVENT is now well known as a leader with 1000 Projects all across India and also exporting to Europe, USA, UAE and Canada.
