I am white married Nigerian. We are happily married for almost 15 years, we have 4 children. But in the beginning it was not so. We had to learn a lot, and to be honest you just need to have common strong foundation. Our foundation is God, if not God for the first two years of marriage we would probably run away from each other. But Reliance on the Holy Spirit that what made a difference.

Living in PA Dutch country, she is/was not a true Amish. Maybe Amish-Mennonite. There are many subdivisions in the various parts of America. Lanc. Co. Amish are considered to be more liberal. It takes maturity to make it a go. 🕊️🌈. P.S. Amish don't have missionaries. You are born into it. To reject it at 18-21, is to be "shunned" by the rest of the Amish. God bless.

They still ride on horse driven carriages instead of cars and do not use electricity or any product that uses electricity. They live in their own communities in rural US with the same lifestyle as if they are still living 200 years ago. The Mennonites are more liberal and modern.They live in normal electrified homes and drive cars etc.However, they are also strict from a religious point of view. The Mennonites often play the role of middlemen between the Amish and modern society when it comes to buying/selling products since Mennonites know how both those worlds work very well. Note that neither Amish nor Mennonites marry outsiders so this is highly unusual. They don't even marry other white people outside their respective communities.

No, that’s not true. It’s silly how she tries to sound African with an African accent when she is clearly English! If you went to Australia for a year, would you start speaking in an Australian accent? No, I don’t think so. It sounds stupid.

Wow! Have read novels about the Amish community in America and knowing what I know about them, it must have been difficult for this young lady. It must have been even more difficult for her parents particularly her mum. The Amish are very strict. Love them because they love nature. The process is pure torture. It's like an abyss of the unknown. You cannot even inquire on your case. It's definitely not for the weak. It takes a lot of strength to endure the process. Staying faithful and loyal is easy. Missing them is torture.

We have Amish and Mennonites here in St. Mary's County, Maryland. We share the roads with them and their horse and buggies. We have many well-built things in and around our home that are Amish-built. Our shed, lawn chairs, dog houses, bedroom furniture, and the list continues. The Amish are a friendly and great asset to our community. 🙏🏼☦️😊
