Richie really tried to help him by banning him from his games. He was way out of pocket disrupting Tony’s game but his anger was justified.
No it wasn't, he was a scumbag.
Someone else said it best - Richie’s anger is usually totally justified, he just goes about it in the dumbest ways.
Eh, no, not really, he just didn't want to keep loaning him money. Because at some point, he's gonna be owed so much money he would get to a point where he wasn't getting it back
But why was Richie at Tony’s game. I still don’t get it
@@srbelnappa Richie knew he was there; he basically just showed up to kick Davy's ass.
Diamond Jim was one of my favorite characters, wish they would have done more with him!

richie was actually pretty real
I love how they always refer to middle aged men as kids
"Couple, three bucks a piece"
Let's take a moment to appreciate the fact that Artie was up and he was smart enough to walk away at that moment.
I thought someone was going to take out this "let's take a moment" guy!
Artie wasn't a gambling addict, if one walks away in the middle of game then it is a show of bad sportsmanship, so they won't be interested in playing with him again
@@vj_great551 probably why we never saw him at one of the games again. Its not for everyone.
Artie was more afraid of Charmaine.
Consider that he was in a room full of murderers too 💀🤣
He didn’t want a second restaurant fire.

Excellent!👍
this legit made me LOL
One of the few scenes of the Sopranos series where I actually liked and respected Richie Aprile for trying to give Davey Scatino good advice and save his ass from a financial disaster. And of course he didn't listen to Richie.
Correct. He could have stopped at just owing Richie 8 large. Also Richie knew that once Tony got a hold of him, it was over.
have you guys ever even watched the show, beyond snippets? Tony admits to him verbatim that busting out stores is his bread and butter. Just like with the ex-mobster in the episode where Tony and Meadow visit colleges, the channel insisted that he would be written as STILL dealing drugs to make Tony's actions more justifiable, I am sure Dave Scattino was written as a ''degenerate gambler''. But even if he wasn't...it takes TWO to tango. These people are still mobsters.
Once you rewatch the series, you start the realize Richie, Feech, and Tony B. were actually good guys who were on edge due to barely being able to get by. These guys served 20 years for not snitching on the same people who refuse to help them financially. Those are the guys who deserve to be making the most and running the ranks for the boss!! Not Paulie and Chrissy!!
@@surfireland9642it’s still sound advice to ban him from games until he catches up. He could’ve done the opposite.
@@portugal5698 “in my book, you get points for staying OUT the can!”

Richie telling Davey not to come to any games until he’s caught up is probably the most reasonable thing he ever said. Davey should’ve used that as motivation.
@@jackzimmy8461 This. I mean, compared to what he did to other people, this was very reasonable. I think David thought Tony would protect him.
@@maxpower2511 Yeah, if Robert Patrick didn’t bring a Ned Flanders quality to the character, I’d despise Davey. Gambling is a bad addiction to have but he was particularly arrogant and stupid.

This Davey is more creative than Spielberg
One of the few instances where I was fully on Richie’s side. He was nothing but a patient guy with Davey. A lot of people fail to realize he was actually a pretty good guy, but was screwed over by Tony and the whole crew from the start which left him on edge struggling to get by. How would you feel if you kept quiet, remained loyal and refused to snitch only to get out and have the very people you sacrificed your life for not take care of you like they “supposedly” claim they have to do as part of their “rules.” Lol
yeah, watching it again knowing that Tony and his circle aren't ''the good guys'' gives the ''DiMeo family is a glorified crew'' a new light.
guys like Feech, Richie and Junior got pushed out instead of given what they were entitled to by mafia code. even Ralphie got screwed over despite technically being in the right by their code. makes it no wonder they were constantly plagued by guys turning rats, all the rules they were supposed to follow had been guidelines so far so what does the ''do not snitch and do not wear a wire'' mean to them.
bro he definitely wasnt a good guy but sure he was screwed over. Tony did that to a lot of his own people and then he wonders "why is everyone rising up against me?"
You’re wrong about Richie being a good guy. He was an awful guy...just see the way he f**ked Beansie up and then threatened to kill him.
That being said agreed he was reasonable in telling Dave to stay away from his games.
But Davey’s a weak pathetic addict...so he just couldn’t do it.

Crazy seeing Richie actually trying to help a guy out. He knew he was a degenerate gambler but likes him enough not to want to see him buried plus staying away from the games would’ve saved him from disrespecting Richie which would make him have to prove a point

Tony and Richie actually made a pretty good team that last scene. Over the course of the series, any time Tony and his various adversaries were able to get along, they basically printed money.

As luck would have it, if Tony hadn't stepped in, chances are Richie would have violently stopped Davey from ruining his life. Not because of the goodness of his heart but because of his inability to see the long game when his emotions got in the way. Tony instead put on a friendly face, and bled Davey dry for good.
Wow. Ritchie was actually quite nice to Davey in the beginning.
he warned him and tried to help him by telling him to stay away until hes debt free from him.Going from owing couple hundreds more to richie and now owing 45k to tony too.Ill bet Richie wouldve spot him some money so that way he doesnt have to owe tony and just him.
