As per today’s news (January 29), the crowd at Mahakumbh has surged to an unprecedented level (a record 7 Crore people were there in a day) and tragically, more than 17 pilgrims have lost their lives. Please take care of the following points in mind: . . 1. Avoid bringing children. Even if your ticket money goes to waste, safety should be the priority. . 2. Choose a less crowded ghat for Snan. Avoid Triveni Sangam Ghat as it is extremely overcrowded. Instead, opt for Arail Ghat or Dashashwamedh Ghat, which may have fewer people. The entire area is part of the Sangam, so the experience remains spiritually significant. . 3. Avoid Amrit Snan days and the 1-2 days leading up to them. . 4. Expect heavy crowds until February 12. If at all you still have to visit, consider going between February 14 and 24, when there are no Amrit Snan days. . 🙏 Prayers for those who lost their lives in this tragic stampede. May their families find the strength to endure this difficult time and the courage to overcome it. 🙏
I am reaching Prayagraj by flight on 14th Feb . I have booked a stay near Arail ghat Naini. Are they allowing cabs from the airport to go to Naini? Or will i have to walk from a certain distance.? Also, the sangam snan continues till what time on non shahi snan days? Please reply. It will be of great help.

You may go to arail ghat or any other lesser-crowded ghat to avoid any stampede-like unfortunate incident as crowd expected will be huge on that day. Cabs might be banned so opt for ola bike or something for travel outside of Mahakumbh. Be ready to walk a lot. If there are no vehicles up to arail, then you may go to Chungi entrance of Mahakumbh & walk up to kila ghat for snan there

@biharstudies6139 Trishul might be one gate (dwar) inside Mahakumbh - there are many such gates inside. Check locally and take your decision because administrators might have changed a few things after the stampede incident.
i'll be staying in a homestay in jhunsi, kindly guide where we can get a boat from to triveni sangam? do we need to take the bridge to parade ground or arail ghat? and where to find boats? i will be very grateful for your response!
If u r staying at jhusi, enter from the jhusi side entrance of Mahakumbh just next to shastri bridge start point and walk up to Triveni sangam ghat. Take snan wherever you get an opportunity.
Can I stay in Arail, and use boat to cross, take a dip and come back? I have reduced mobility issue - so, will getting off and on the boat be easy for someone who is overweight?

Can’t say confirmed coz it is amrit snan day. Check local e-rickshaws & keep trying on ola, uber - booking will take time. Alternately check with your hotel guy to arrange for a car that you can keep the whole day

Kuch log idhr udhar se jate h to main sangam par na naha kar koi akeli yamuna ji to koi ganga ji me dubki maar leta hai. Jabki mahtb sangam ka hai. Or bheed itni hoti hai ki 100 meter chalne me paseene chootte hai. Or filhal to dhoop bhi bahut tej ho rhi hai. 🙏

Since it’s a non-amrit-snan day i feel vehicles could be allowed but traffic restrictions may vary on the actual day when you arrive.

You can also stay near Gau ghat. I took a return boat from there to sangam and trust me it was the best decision. I didn't have to walk at the sangam.
The only thing is that not all erickshaws will go to gau ghat because of less tourists in that area. Or they may ask for little extra money.

Kydganj is also a very crowded and popular place. Just sharing from my visit last week.

@ actually it takes 15-20 mins but on peak days there r many boats and it may take time.
