Agree. Licensing isn't easy, especially with collaborations. FF7 is extremely difficult to do collaborations with outside of its rpg game genre. Smash was barely lucky to get cloud and sephiroth so chances of other FF7 characters in other games was extremely low to the point of nonexistent.

The IP for FF7 is not something that can be done very easily because that's the most iconic and the most sensitive IP Square Enix has. It takes a crap load of money and agreements to try to get any characters in that IP to appear in a game genre outside of its RPG game style

FF7 IP is an extremely sensitive IP because of its iconic and popular style. The more historic the IP, the more it'll cost for licensing for collaborations.
Tekken is the Iron Fist Tournament. Emphasis on fist. Not Guns. Not Swords. Especially not magical swords and magical guns and magical summoning creatures. Soul Caliber is a weapon-based game. That is where these characters belong that use those types of weapons in my opinion.
Victor also says high while I agree he doesn’t fit exactly like a glove. Feel like that works here especially since for people who mained noctus Clive is great upgrade.

This whole season dlc doesn't make sense at all! Reina, Victor, Azucena could have all been DLC. Eddy a legacy character, Lidia a damn character we paid for twice, heihachi who was certainly dead is brought back ridiculously from the dead, and now Clive Rotisserie Chicken Rosfield stumbles into the wrong game! These developers are not thinking at all! The last dlc character should have been akuma who did not finish the job he was tasked with in Tekken 7. Come on Harada!
Clive was easily the best thing about FF16 but this is just boring. Everybody and their mother was expecting Tifa if it came from FF and rightfully so because she be comboing fools like in Rebirth. This is the political option to support 16's poor sales according to JP and safe because they know ppl can't really "hate" Clive but yeah this season pass eats ass. We know too Ana was teased for Season 2 so the hope of Bruce just gets pushed back even more.... its ok VF is back tho GG's.

But with *Virtua fighter* coming back (which is bigger than you realize in the eSports scene) ppl were playing it in the 90s - Tournys. I don't see Tekken 8 with a big playerbase. Especially with the many problems (in game stores, bots and balance issues) Tekken 7 was a mess too, but Tekken 8 have not been much better & few pros stick with it.

Clive is the best part about FF16, definitely one of the better written FF protagonists.
As a Tekken player since Tekken 3, I'm hyped to see Clive in this game.

Loved FF XVI and Clive is an amazing character. I will for sure play him alongside my main characters Jun and Lee. GREAT GUEST CHARACTER!
