LYRICS:
I could take some sleep
I could go lie down
I’m in so deep
a little broken now
I would love to close my eyes
but I’ve got moves to make
there’s so much going on inside my head
the smallest things can make me cry
when I blink I see flashes of my bed
can’t wait to give it a try
and though I wouldn’t change this for the world
take me to higher ground take me higher
feel kind of like an oyster with no pearl
take me to higher ground
I could take some sleep
I could go lie down
week after week
it’s a constant sound
I would love to close my eyes
but I’ve got moves to make
I could take some sleep
I could go lie down
I’m in so deep
a little broken now
I would love to close my eyes
but I’ve got moves to make
I’ve got moves to make
there is so much to do
so many things too little time
trying not to miss out on anything
take me to higher ground take me higher
whatever it is I’ll take a swing
take me to higher ground
I could take some sleep
I could go lie down
week after week
it’s a constant sound
I would love to close my eyes
but I’ve got moves to make
I could take some sleep
I could go lie down
I’m in so deep
a little broken now
I would love to close my eyes
but I’ve got moves to make
I’ve got moves to make
I’ve got moves to make
I’ve got moves to make
#DaðiFreyr #MovesToMake
What a great track, and the video is a perfect mirror for how the world (and the media) will reduce you down to a single characteristic, put you on a pedestal for it, then tear you down for the same thing, until you start to lose your love for the thing that brought you joy to begin with..
Well done, Daði, very well done. 🙌
You worded this perfectly!
Crazy world we live in.
Leave it to Daði to create a beautiful story as well as a great song. Really speaks for artists who get stuck being known for only one thing.
Exactly:D
And the fickleness of fame too: "woo, this is great!" "no, this is wrong, it's corrupting the youth and toxic" "it turns out it's criminal?" and following that trend down. Fame is BS and shouldn't be pursued (though if you get it, do the best with it hopefully), because people think they own you and know you. So anything you say or do is subjected to extra scrutiny and can make or break you.
I think he uses his fame to the best of his ability. His songs are so relatable, honest and encourage good self-care. Couldn't love this man more :)

Great song and amazing video - great summary of the concept of viral trends. Also love the cameo of Jan Böhmermann at 2:03
I was looking for this comment. Had to be sure. Great song, great video. Love this!
And also Hank Green at 1:52
Love the song! The video was beautifully done, too. You have an incredible talent for songwriting and I hope it brings you joy. You have created a lovely community here and whether you release 50 more albums or none, you've given us some awesome music.
That was a smart move from Daði! Great video concept, great song! 🤩
I love the concept of wormfinger too
This is really pertinent. After his massive viral success of Think About Things, I can completely understand where this song has come from. Dadi, your fans adore you- don’t worry, we’ll always support you, no matter if you need to take a break. I’ve seen the imposter syndrome in a few of your songs. You’re amazing. ❤
Or maybe this is what he is best at. This is amazing and the kind of music I love to listen too.
I love when artists go out of their "Normal"
I bet you fencing duracel during the whole management, this reaches me to still-carbonayed thrill, make more but more about off God and Godness
I would love to see Dadi and David Byrne collab. They are two musical, artistic souls who should meet and make shit together.
Dadi reminds me of Bo Burnham. Absolutely hilarious, amazing music, humble, and a rise to fame that has to be incredibly hard to handle reflected in their music. I hope he's doing well, and hope we continue getting new masterpieces to enjoy
So you went to the concert? When and where was it?
Wonderful commentary on fame. I hope Dadi has never felt this way. He is definitely not a one trick pony.
Daði Freyr you’re not only the guy who does funny moves. You’re an amazing musician with an immense knowledge of the music as element. I love every video you make doing music. I love your voice and I love your lyrics. Keep up the good work. Side note, in Italy a lot of people loves your music 🙂
Concordo
Kinda feels like this is a story about the build up and life after he released “think about things” with the dance? Or is it just me
yeah like he feels like a one trick pony, but he has so much more to offer hes such an amazing musician
hes still doing the same thing hes always done but its being recieved differently
the song that perfectly captures how the sudden fame reduces you to just being known for one thing and ultimately getting tired of said one thing and finally breaking free 😳
I already love this song. Its gonna be the hit of the summer! Thank you, Dadi. Greetings from Mexico ❤
Dadi is positioning himself as a heir to the likes of New Order, giants that engineered beautiful dance music around lyrics that deal with very serious topics. ❤
Love it! 😀 Is that Hank Green trying the wormfinger on Daði's phone at 1:52?!
2:05 is that fucking Jan Böhmermann from the German satire magazine Neo Magazin royale?!
You all tried doing the wormfinger while watching the video. Confess.
I feel comfortable to listen every song from him. Haven't been disappointed yet
Ever since you released Think About Things at Eurovision, I’ve been a massive fan of your work. Your fans adore you and we will always support you. You are amazing
Me too! I love his music and he seems to be able to create songs I really feel an affinity to ❤👌👌
Me too! ❤
I love the tune! But what I love most, is the authenticity and apparent kindness of Dadi. Creative, smart, kind and genuine. It makes watching your success so sweet and delicious. I love watching you succeed.
Pride of İceland,we want to see you back at next year's Eurovision.Keep bringing us joy.Good thing the world has a talent like you.
Wow! That was fantastic! I love the song so much, but the video, along with the lyrics, was a piece of performance art. Thank you for actual substance both musically and visually. 🤙
This is definitely going to be the best song ever
I disagree, have you heard his next song?
🙌🏻

Cuz let's be honest we're singing this 24 hrs a day
Głosowałam na Was na Eurowizji. Muzyka świetna. Dadi masz piękny głos
Random Böhmermann in a Daði Music Video, didn't expect that one 😅
Didn't expect to see Jan Böhmermann in this. Random, but not bad, at all.
In addition to the concept of an artist being distilled down to a single thing, this song, as I experience it, is also a commentary on the relentless expenditure of effort that is required to keep pace with and stay ahead of the all consuming and fickle mass of humanity and market, regardless of scale, while trying to maintain one's creative form and integrity alongside the want to simply sit back and take a moment for yourself. I love every single solitary bit of this song.
1:51 Hank Green timestamp, fellow nerdfighters
i like the part where jan böhmermann appeared😂
This is an absolute masterpiece, great cinematography!! ♥♥♥
Love all the little nuances you put into your videos. Lifting your face to get make up and being left🥹 All the expression you convey in a really small shift in expression and body language.Particularly in Sabada. Music , dancing and acting! Each time you watch you see or hear another detail.Thank you so much for sharing your talent 👩🏻🎨👏🤩
This is one of those things that really makes me miss the left hand I lost in 1997. I would have loved to have been able to do the wormfingers when I saw him live recently. Instead I wear the T-shirt from the video as much as possible.
BÖHMERMANN
Daði always treats us with the sweetest moves ❤
NO WAY you got Böhmermann for the video!!!
Jan Böhmermann!
It has been so amazing to watch Daði's videos increase in quality, with beautiful camerawork and more attention to detail. Amazing work as always.
This music video deserves way more than half a million views!!!
I love your music, Dadi!
And I loved Hank Greens's little cameo.
The cameo is around 1:51 - 1:52
@@simprophet Thank you for the timestamp! I was looking for it and still missed it!
Great Song! And a fingerwormdance for Böhmis apperance!
This is a profound and accurate version of The Artist Journey and the perils of viral "fame" as a creator! I adore him (and what a voice!!!!)
Hoping he and the crew never change
Fantastic music and thought provoking video.🎉 Hope you are getting a chance to close your eyes now after all your hard work. Thank you so much for all the joy you have brought in your music. Keep on enjoying all the important things in life. Big up the little things❤🙏💕👨👩👦🏡
This is going to be epic, I’m so excited
So are we back to the times where music videos were amazing? remembers me of the MTV era - great music and fun video
I imagine this is how the Gangnam Style guy eventually felt
I was introduced to your music for the first time through Hank Green. I love the fun, light-hearted stuff you create! I also love the deeper more emotional. Hank and John also talk a lot about fame and I have the utmost respect for those doing their best to navigate it. This video was so well-done. You’re doing a good job!
I was so happy to see Hank in the video doing the worm thing. That was a well thought out cameo
Daði has a moustache again:D
Watch "Thank You" for giant heavenly fingerworm
Why is Jan Böhmermann in this video? xD
You’re so much more than the finger worm and a trend, sir! May your music transcend the fickleness of trends and fads. ❤️
With a baseline like that, I have no doubt!
Agreed, you are changing lives. You are making life that bit easier and brighter for so many people all over the world. Me included, thank you. You are beautiful ❤️🙏
2:04 Look 1 wild Jens Böhnsenmann
Loved the video, congrats to all the people who made it :D
Spotting Jan Böhmermann in there was wild lol
Please going next year for Iceland to the ESC and get Icelands first Victory.
Grüße aus Deutschland🇮🇸❤🇩🇪
omg. This MV needs to win some awards. This whole production is oozing with talent 🔥🔥 Also, that broken finger 😂
When did Daði Freyr have time to learn black magic?
Dadi, it makes me so happy to witness how your music is evolving. The sound was so full and the choral singing with yourself was such a pleasure to listen to! Also I hope your finger move will become a new tiktok trend lol its such a little gesture but receives such a big meaning in your heartfelt video. You're an amazing artist! Keep up the amazing work you do but please make sure to take breaks and all the rest you need, my friend! ❤
Great new release (album?) Please release I'm fine as a single, it reeks of worldwide smash hit
This video feels like a director's cut on Modern Way by Kaiser Chiefs. Great job!
Anyone else who couldn't help but do this finger trick when you saw the video?
It was good the first time... The second time, a solid hit!.. but the third time? Bangarang!
Nice one! Including Jan Böhmermann is a damn nice move :D
I discovered your music because a friend and i, were talking about iceland, and for no reason youtube brought me to you. I appreciate the algorithm from google a lot hahaha.
Oh my god, it's so silly it's good xD Awesome song stupidly silly awesome video
i hear a bit of "Where I Wanna Be" in the chorus, which is very cool. As usual, sir, you are truly off the deep end, and I LOVE EVERY SECOND OF IT! WOO HOO!
How many people have just tried to do the worm finger 😂
What an amazing video and what a great song. Can’t wait for the rest of the album and the tour 😍😍
Dadi is never disappointing!
Jan Boehmermann (famous german tv host) at 2:03 LOL
I've been using this move with the ladies for years!!! First you pray, then the Cross, then twist... and then worm!!!
@Dadi Freyr, i respect that you're not going to change who you are for fame. I also still love your Mixophrygian music! Your old music shouldn't be hidden 💞
hope i can make it to the concery on the 2nd of septemeber...
I wish to scream like a teenage girl at your concert one day
My work regularly plays Daði Freyr songs through the store. It's awesome.
Since I first heard "Think about Things" I knew that your music would always be my favorite.
Takk 🙏
2:03 Glückwunsch Herr Böhmermann!
Funnily enough, a tweet from Jan Böhmermann ( German satirist, journalist, podcast/tv host) lead me into my obsession with Dadi, way before his first planned performance at the esc 2020 / 2021. Seeing him in this video (02:04) is a full circle moment for me :D
Jan böhmermann spotted!
Dude you are a great artist, very profeccional video too, cheers from Colombia 🇨🇴
Pls Iceland send him again to Eurovision im obssesed 😍
Hahahaaa... the twist of this video.... and in some sense sad. Because it's the reality of the Social media and the meme effect!
einfach Jan Böhmermann 2:15
Guest Star: Jan Böhmermann!
Nice video! 🇮🇸
Greetings from Germany 🇩🇪
That's going to be stuck in my head for a while. Great video too 👍🏻
You'd kick ass no matter what you decided to do with your time, Dadi.
We're all just glad you choose to spend it by making some of the best damn music I've heard in over a decade. Thanks for that, man.
You seem like a really good dude. Lookin' forward to seeing you again when you're state-side.
Thank you for more music!
I am LOVING THE NEW ALBUM!
This song, and Sometimes are already my two favorites. My partners favorite is Sunshine 🌞.
From another socially awkward musician, with a lower baritone voice, I can't even begin to explain how much Dadi Freyrs content resonates with me.
I've always been told I have the perfect voice for blues, RNB, rock, but my heart belongs to electronic and pop. Dadi your music gives me so much hope and inspiration to follow my soul and to be my authentic self.
Lots of love from 2 small town Canadians! ❤️🇨🇦
I really like the song and video!! But for the love of God how do you do Wormfinger?? Me fingers won't allow them to become Wormfinger! So sad!! ❤🐛👇
(Only had a like a worm Caterpillar)😂😂
Jan Böhmermann bei 2:05 🤯😅
Hab ich auch gesehen? Das war doch der Böhmi…???
Saw him recently on Eurovision-true performer..
Freya und Frey sind aus dem Haus. Nager auch... 🎉
the song itself is amazing, but the the MV it's just so perfect
Jan Böhmermann ❤ great video and song!
С элегантностью присущей только Дади. Ждем еще шедевров ❤
2:05 holy Jan Böhmermann, nice surprise ❤
Mr. Daði i've been listening and enjoying your music for a while know, but i have one request to make, because i feel that you won't do it if i don't ask, so:
Could you kindly disappoint me once? Just once.
It can be hard to remember that anyone's worth is NOT calculated by how much others like them. It is weird, cos your social monke brain is all "oh! people like me! Gotta please them!" There is also the issue of parasocial relationships, since people get so sucked into "i like this one thing someone did, so I'll like everything the person does, and put them on a pedestal. But that also means I can demand tricks out of them like they're some circus monkey."
Sad but true.
Unfortunately idiocracy is coming (like tiktok generation)
Perhaps in artists like you there is hope for balance.
Thank you.
I found this while listening to the song “Dupe - Balling” 😮😮
Wow I usually listen to music while multitasking (working or cleaning), but this one stopped me in my tracks. I just watched and listened. I love it so much.
I just broke my finger trying to make that move. Well, thanx Dadi. 🤕 🙃
I think the cynicism of this piece is really what people are picking up on. If you get known for being comedic will you lose an audience for saying things that are more serious? (Although I think all their songs have a deeper message) And the shallowness of our culture and what goes viral.
Are you feeling okay?
