Here in germany, we have "Butterbrot" (butter bread) Witch like the name described, bread with butter, and the toping is one random vegetable, like, only cucumber, tomato, radish (the small red once), some even onions or horseradish, with some salt and paper. And they are rarely topped with a second slice of bread. Simple, plain, bread, butter, vegetable, salt, paper, and a glass of milk/tee.

I think Insym you are thinking of iodine, which was added to salt in America because we put salt in everything and lack of iodine caused a lot of health problems in the past. It's no longer an issue because someone thought to add iodine to table salt :)
