It has been pointed out that Abuela Alma's portion of this song has the same melody as 'Dos Orugitas' from later in the film, when we see what really happened to Abuelo Pedro. Also, the 'bucket brigade' section from this song is also echoed in 'All of You' as they're rebuilding the Casita.
As a Puerto Rican, I always laugh at that line that Mirabelle uses "that's why coffee is for grown up's." I don't think it is even possible to find a Hispanic/Latino person who would ever actually say that. 🤣 We generally start drinking coffee as soon as we can be trusted to drink something warm/hot on our own, or at least once we start going to school. (I think I had my first coffee at around 4-5 years old, though admittedly not as strong as black Colombian coffee is, lol.) That's why in the Spanish version of this movie she says "that's why coffee isn't for everyone" instead. Still, the song is great. Nice reaction. 😁👍
This movie is so relatable and I think that is why it is so good. You can find a representation of a family member when watching this movie and it doesn't just have to be a Hispanic family. It covers any type of family. I shed a tear in Waiting for a Miracle and the ending and parts in between. Just a fantastic movie.
Only now realising the doors seem to glow on the inside too. And as someone who has trouble sleeping unless in total darkness that would drive me insane.
