@ElsjeMassyn Thank you for your kind words and support. We are glad that you enjoyed the movie and the book, and that they inspired you to trust in God's power and love. We appreciate your prayers and encouragement for Mahtob and her mother, and for all those who are facing persecution and oppression around the world. God bless you! |
What a sweet lady! I saw the movie many years ago when it came out. It’s so nice to see the young girl, now a grown, well spoken woman who obviously loves the Lord! Yes, God is so good! I am excited to read her story.
First up they should pay tribute to the beautiful brave souls that orgastrated their escape, and risked their lives so her and her mum could escape. They are the real hero's. Bless these courageous folks. 🙏
they already thank them , but they have to protect the names the family not revealing the secrets for security reasons, She already sent help to her friends iranian
I haven't read the book , but Sally Field was outstanding in the part of Betty. All those others as well. There were so many that risk their own lives helping her to get back with her daughter. God bless them all. If you haven't seen the movie , I have watched it every time it has aired. This young woman and her mother , such strong women to have endured all they went through. Thank you for sharing your life . May the lord richely bless you. ❤
i need to say the mother was so lucky, me i stayed for years n lost my boy kidnapped, now i just hope God will keep him alive, i had other friends mothers from Europe who lost their child in Mauritius
This story is so amazing!! I watched the movie today and It got me at the edge of my seat 😢😢 It made me think that I must be WISE and EXTRA cautious about my future husband and his culture. Praise the Lord for these two women who escaped with the grace of God now to tell their story and help others
God Bless Mahtob and Betty they have been through sooooo much to gain their freedom back. Mahtob you are a strong beautiful woman, and your Mother is AMAZING for getting the two of you, back to safety and back on American soil🙏💙💙💙
They endured unimaginable trials to gain their freedom and get safely back home. Let this be a lesson:There is NOTHING on this earth a Mother won't due to protect her child.NOTHING. Betty getting Mahtob safely back home on American soil could have easily cost her, her life in that barbaric country but she still took a chance and put her daughter first, because she knew she couldn't let her beautiful child grow up in those awful circumstances. God Bless you Betty🙏💙💙💙
Looking forward to reading this! I was her age when this happened to her. As a parent now the story hits differently. I'm very proud of mahtob, and her mother..
I'm an Avid Fan of them, I'm from the Philippines,I hope you tube will upload this beautiful full movie this moment. I admired their relationship, they fight to survive, to protect their good reputation. They already thank the people who helped them to be free, they don't need to announce their names for security reasons, they're good person. Here also there's a good muslim, some muslim are like his father some pinay can relate
Abuse especially chronic and prolonged it really does affect the body. It's been thirty two years and i'm still affected by it My faith in the lord is what gives me hope. I just have to live day by day
Heavenly Father, we come before You, lifting up our dear friend who has endured the enduring weight of abuse for thirty-two long years. The scars run deep, affecting not just the spirit but also their body. Please grant strength and healing to every wounded corner of their being, soothing the pain that time has done. (Psalm 147:3) May their faith in You continue to be a source of enduring hope, guiding our friend through each challenging day. (Romans 15:13) Let Your comforting presence be upon our friend, offering comfort and the assurance that with each passing day, there is a new beginning. In Jesus' name, amen. }
We appreciate you showing sympathy, @everythingisalie5320. "We pray that her testimony moved you and inspired your faith by reminding you of how God can wondrously intervene in our lives. God bless you!;
Based on what her mother said, she points out the different cultures...these days, we aren't even allowed to say that. I'm in the UK and we aren't, as we allow terrorists in and give immediate asylum, whereas others have to fight for a visa. This movie should be a reminder to many that more than 'cultural differences' in completely different religions where killing and beatings with no rights for women are the norm...
So nice to hear what happened to these two later after the movie ending. My mother told me to watch the movie after she asked me if I would ever marry somebody of a different culture. My first easy answer was sure of that fell in love. But after watching the movie you have to think…..
I think it depends on how "different" the culture is. If someone is from a place like Canada or Western Europe, it's going to be much more similar to ours than Middle Eastern or Asian.
As an Iranian( I love to say Persian), I feel very sorry for Mahtob and her mother islam ruined our beautiful persian culture and my country!! They came to my country without wanting to in the worst time in the history of iran (Persia) in 1980's and the frightening Islamic atmosphere of the Ayatollahs and the hatred of the people to amercians, the iranian people who were brainwashed by the Ayatollahs caused them to be imprisoned at mahmoody's home and abused by his family members. I saw the movie and I can say that every single scene of this movie was made in the 80s of Iran and it shows the people who were brainwashed by the Ayatollah and destroyed the beautiful Persian culture that arose from ancient Persia are true. Persian culture has never had anything in common with Islam, and it is true that the pray (Namaz or Assalat) exists in Iran, but it was not and will not be a part of the ancient Persians culture at all!! Thank God that today the people of Iran are fighting against the Islamic regime Love to all Americans from Iran ❤️
There’s definitely MANY narc Christian men. We see them in the states acting like they’re prophets who talk to god on their own, using their own families as their own cult. Look at the ATI, AUB, Born-Again Christians, Baptists, FLDS. They’re so many in our congress too.
Maybe you can identify with African women who have lost their children to slavery, kidnapped, and separated from their families. If you all care to respect their struggles.

To all women, DO NOT travel to Iran for WHATEVER reason.
To all women do not marry a man from a different culture and then go to their country thinking you'll be safe.
The father also did his own story too: He was interviewed by the BBC, & the title of the interview was "Without My Daughter."
Thank you very much for tuning in!
How interesting. I'll try to look for his interview & his daughters book.
