Ah yes happened to me as well, until I saw my mistake... so right after you've selected the option to "show in windows explorer" for some reason it shows both versions of the song (the AAC you created as the shortened version AND the song as its full duration). Look over to the right of the windows explorer page, under the search bar should be a "details" tab, click on that and it'll show you the full details of both songs, including which one is the shortened version and thus copy & paste to your desktop. I hope this helps!

Hi, thank you for your tutorial. I was able to save my 1st customised ringtone to "Files" but for my 2nd ringtone attempt, it could no longer be saved to Files.. whenever I press "Save to Files" it goes back to the menu. How can I do this?

All this struggle trying to get 40 second ringtone to work and I changed it to 30 and it worked right away.. I don't understand why almost everything says it can go up to 40 seconds though? You need to copy it to iTunes Library page and not iPhone settings page in iTunes. Also ensure m4r file extesion is correct.
