The English language unfortunately is very poor so you can not translate with accuracy what is going on, for example "Rechenka" is the diminutive of the word river like "little river" as you said but this particular word is only used when you want to convey Familiarity/love/affection for the object that you use this form on. In the case of the river the words "Sweet river" convey the true feelings of the girl towards the river way more than saying little river because after all the river is not small. Also the girl did not took any chances with the river, she knew very well why she went there, in the case that she goes to the underworld she did that very deliberately, this is what she asks from the river after all, because the river is not "just" the river, it has affection for the girl too, it asks her about her problems and why is she not smiling, the river is not an unintelligent or bad force that just acts, it is actually a force of good that cares and helps the girl with what she wants (what she wants depends on the different varieties of the song, escape, return, pass to the underworld). That is Diana's Adoptive Mother. Diana actually had a REALLY ROUGH start in life. Hers is one of the legendary success stories, one that most unfortunately is NOT a fairy tale. I really hope that Diana's birth parents are completely out of her life forever. After throwing her away like they did, they do not deserve anything good to come from her. She went through hell at FAR too young an age, all caused directly by them. She could not defend herself, she had broken bones and she could not even talk yet. They screwed her up really bad. Because of what they did to her, she had to go it alone for a little bit (until this sweet lady adopted her).

The English language unfortunately is very poor so you can not translate with accuracy what is going on, for example "Rechenka" is the diminutive of the word river like "little river" as you said but this particular word is only used when you want to convey Familiarity/love/affection for the object that you use this form on.
In the case of the river the words "Sweet river" convey the true feelings of the girl towards the river way more than saying little river because after all the river is not small.
Also the girl did not took any chances with the river, she knew very well why she went there, in the case that she goes to the underworld she did that very deliberately, this is what she asks from the river after all, because the river is not "just" the river, it has affection for the girl too, it asks her about her problems and why is she not smiling, the river is not an unintelligent or bad force that just acts, it is actually a force of good that cares and helps the girl with what she wants (what she wants depends on the different varieties of the song, escape, return, pass to the underworld).
As for the line flow but not quiver it is correct, she says that the river is flowing but it does not tremble/swirl/shake , this has nothing to do with hesitation, this has to do with how straight and true the river is, it will not go back on it's words and it will not try to lie or take advantage of the girl like the humans.

I have probably heard this performance over a hundred times and my vision gets blurry every time. Diana has grown to be a beautiful, vibrant, funny, family-loving young woman. With the help of her family, she has put away a dark period of her early childhood. But when I hear this performance with her yodel-cries, I still think of what she went through, and it hurts me. this performance was exceptional, given Diana's personal history: abused and abandoned as a child ( making her an orphan, like the singer of this song ), would not or could not speak, spent time in a Russian orphanage, her adoptive Mum provided voice and singing lessons as therapy for her early trauma, began performing at about age 6......a natural Contralto, Polyphonic, sings in many languages.......a truly unique woman

The woman you refer to as "her mom". Is actually an adopted foster mother. Her actual mother abandoned her for being worthless to her..... She was recused from the streets with many problems that a child without guidance would have.

Greetings from Scotland! Yes, the lady with glasses and short black hair with hands clasped is Diana's new mama - Irina Ponik! Wherever Diana performed, Irina was there documenting everything since she was singing at home at 5yo! Even at 14yo Diana had the ability to convey all the emotions in any song. Diana once said in a TV interview "In principle, if you don't sing with your soul, you probably don't sing".
This was the great Russian project "You're Super!" for children left without parental care to showcase their vocal abilities. Diana definitely showcased hers to the maximum! Here is the list of her performances here.

Diana actually had a REALLY ROUGH start in life. Hers is one of the legendary success stories, one that most unfortunately is NOT a fairy tale.
I really hope that Diana's birth parents are completely out of her life forever. After throwing her away like they did, they do not deserve anything good to come from her. She went through hell at FAR too young an age, all caused directly by them. She could not defend herself, she had broken bones and she could not even talk yet. They screwed her up really bad.
Because of what they did to her, she had to go it alone for a little bit (until this sweet lady adopted her).
Yes, I should have clarified...I knew that she had an awful start to life... and was finally adopted. 😊🙏

This international TV competition is unique in the world and was specially developed for adopted and orphaned children. It is designed not only to give positive emotions to children who do not have a prosperous childhood, but also to hope for changes in their destiny.
Diana entered the competition 'You are Super!' in 2018 and 2019 and won twice. The winner of the season will be determined by a 6-day public vote and the final took place in the Kremlin Palace and her videos were uploaded to RUclips and soon she had millions of fans.
The project producers help the finalists start studying and encourage their creativity. Diana won a scholarship to the College of Music. Igor Krutoy, as a juror, gave her a small apartment in Moscow. An orphan girl is faced with a choice - to drown herself, committing the sin of suicide, or still accept the circumstances and "go with the flow". What will she choose? This is decided by the audience together with the performer of this song.
