Be cautious! I've been using this guitar for a week now and absolutely LOVED it, yet I've noticed that there's a major, electronic flaw with it. After noticing that there's an obvious pick-up sound bleed between the bridge & neck (where the active pickup gets the sound of the inactive one), I've made some changes. First, I changed the switch, and then I got a new pick-up for the bridge thinking that they might be microphonic, and also shielded the cavities, however, none of them helped. Then I noticed that the connection over the PCB where 2 pots and all the rest are gathered, is just incorrectly designed. It's different than the 4-wire default schematics. To be more precise; the connections on the Volume pot are wrong, lug 1 and lug 2 must be swapped in between, lug 3 is gnd anyway, tone control is also correct. I've removed the pots from the PCB and mounted them on the guitar directly, made the harness as it should be, and voila, everything is working great! I don't know how Donner made such a mistake, but god knows how many guitars with this PCB are on sale / sold already.
Hey Steve! Most of us that use the GruvGear fret wraps dont often bring them down past the nut :) they just clear up alot of sympathetic ringing and keep your recordings tighter, you can for sure notice heavy above the nut noise on alot of guitars!
My friend has one and the high E is too close to the edge of the fret board but other than that it's a really good guitar. I dig the Mayones type headstock.
Back in the mid 80's, Bruce Kulick (KISS, Meatloaf, Grand Funk) had an ESP superstrat with that same finish. I wonder if his guitar influenced that look. Nice guitar/cool video.
$199 in that color. Then take $20 off with a coupon as of 10-09-2023. a$199 for the Silver Black burst and then a $30 Coupon! The all Black is $179 plus a $20 Coupon making it $159!! Great Review Steve
I'd like to hear that on a low budget amp. Something like say a grand kid would have in his bedroom. I think it looks cool and sounds good on your rig. That's a great price to give as a starter guitar.
instead of low budget amp, i got Scarlett Solo 3rd generation the other day,,, you get all kinds of free software with it,,, ableton live lite for a daw,, i already got reaper so i didn't use theirs
I thought you and Chris Tompkins Music and Gear were the same guys untill yesterday I saw you made the same review about this guitar like he did waiting as a recommendation video, haha. You look very much the same with the same type of content.
“If you ever see me using one of these……you’ll know I lost the bet” 😂 that was funny…… >>>>for those who didn’t/don’t watch the video, my comment with this quote isn’t pertaining to the guitar! Just want to be clear about that.
Using a fretwrap in front of the nut would be "cheating" imo. Behind the nut is essential for stopping overtones that occur between chugs when you need absolute silence in those pockets. Generally used in the progressive metal and "Djent" circles. So, yeah. The kids. 😂

Bro, do you a video or something? so everyone could do that I'm thinking of getting this guitar!
These are the kind of guitars that get me in trouble. Cool finish and low price 😂
Another day, another Donner

This guitar is a win !! Looks good, sounds good ,and the price!!!
I love Pixxy, he makes a dirt cheap guitar sound like a million dollars. I wish I had his magic touch on this site
You play GREAT effortlessly. Thanks for your reviews- you are one of the best out there.

sounds great steve great price
Got the second to last one on Amazon just now.
Steve, how would this compare to the Kramer Baretta (purple?) you had a while back?
Sounds & looks great for the money!
Donner strikes again. A great guitar for little moolah. 👍🏻😎
nice of them to include an 80s hair band
Instant buy, gonna use it as a mod project!
Anyone know what Amp he’s using? Sounds dope

Oh, what a pleasant surprise 🔥👍
Hi, Steve! Between Donner dmt-100, Cort Kx100 and Ibanez grg131 which one do you prefere? Thx!
It's a Donner party, minus the cannibalism !? 🎶🎸
😂
You ever go to a DonnerParty in high school?
For rock tones I wouldn't bother changing the pickups on this. The sounds are as good as or better than anything currently out there.

Good overview of a decent looking guitar! Any idea what the fretboard radius is?
what the track 15:55?
I see him repeatedly.
thanks

HI is it gloss or matte finish?
If only they started to come with a spindle trussrod. That is a cool finish tho. Reverse burst, inspired by Fender Plus it seems.
The more info here goes to an acoustic electric
What size are the frets?
That’s a sweet guitar for $199 👍
The color combination is not my thing, but I’m sure they come in other colors 🤘

man for 200$ you get nice finish, 24 frets, direct mount humbuckers, this is a deal breaker... finally we have an Ibanez GIO competitor
Donner DMT, machine elves sold separately
didn't find anything on wikipedia on steve. disappointed.

imo this needs a Floyd then I may actually consider one as a budget model to take around VS anything nicer cost wise
Meh...
