- 2023 was certainly an awesome year of railfanning! We caught a total of 555 trains including lots of awesome catches. We were able to get trackside further from home this year including a day of railfanning on BNSF's Southern Transcon in Northern Arizona, trains on the FEC & SFRTA in South Florida, and trips to Ohio & Ontario! We were also able to catch trains on some local shortline railroads for the first time! Be sure to check out some of our other videos after this & please subscribe so not to miss our awesome weekly railfanning videos!
Fantastic Film
Awesome!
You caught 36:17 on my Bday
Ok so like I’m just recently getting back into trains and stuff for the first time since I was 12 and I have a burnin’ question. What exactly makes a good railfanning catch?
Pretty much anything that isn’t a common sight for example one of a kind paint schemes or those remaining from defunct railroads, locomotives from different railroads, high/wide or oversized cargo, etc..
The other day in Baldwin I caught an insane lashup (KCS, NS, And CSX) and that’s what I call a good catch
So how do you guys get word that there is a special interest train heading your way!
Facebook groups specific to the area along with trackside live cameras further up the line. Also some of these are just lucky catches!
Thank you this will help me a lot!
55:54 That was actually a KCSM leading.
10:37 we can all agree that that is one of the best sounding horns ever!, but great video!
