Fantastic and as a Star Wars mega fan I love that 3D printing is allowing so many more of these superb iconic models to exist in the world outside of super expensive toy versions you can buy.
Wow, you found rocks walking around outside? I think you missed a viral video on that one! LOL JK. The print looks amazing and I am with you on the sanding. But honestly some layer lines don't look incredibly out of place on a metal robot. Smooth and shiny has is place but for a beat up old probe droid, imperfections just add character.
That's a nice model and great paint work! I haven't heard a lot of positives about that group (notorious for spamming 3D printing Facebook groups). Kudos to you
That would indeed be awesome! I have done similar things with custom painted action figures in the past. The only issue is getting the models, since there aren't any models for a lot of those things (or at least good models that would work in a diorama).
usually antennta are different lenght for different frequencies, also usually antenna want to be or different angles from each other and as far away as possible to avoid charging each other with junk noise
This is wonderful. Can you share your printer settings? Also can you do a video on how you calibrate your cr-10? New sub, really nice channel man. Hope to see new videos soon. Have a great one 👍🏼
At 4:14 either you had the drive in reverse, its a cool optical illusion, or I'm blind. Totally looked like the drill is spinning counter clockwise. Awesome model and print, Just got a CR-10s and I got get it dialed in here as my prints don't look that good yet.
What a brilliant print! If I might say, I’d have done all the sanding before putting it together. You also could have added some lighting. It’s still amazing. Do you mind me asking what scale it works out as for the final print?
Yeah I think I may have mentioned that I could've done that a bit differently. I don't actually know what the scale is, but I think it could probably pass for 1/6
Mighty Jabba's Collection Yeah. Sorry if that came across as a dig. I didn’t mean it that way at all. I’m in awe of 3D printing. I scratchbuild models by hand, but 3D printing looks to be so versatile. I was thinking it was looking close to 1/6. I’m doing the prep work right now for a 1/6 snowspeeder. It’s going to be a monster in 1/6! I mocked it up in cardboard first to make sure I have the sizes right and it’s huge!(Despite being one of the smallest SW craft!)
I use adhaero 5 min epoxy. But any epoxy should do the same as epoxy resins dry clear. I use the 5 minute syringe epoxy because I don't need alot and you can get it at any hardware store for around $10
At the moment anyway, the way it works is that each month subscribers get one main model and one bonus model (often a multi-part model that will span several months, like the Probe Droid). You also get access to the "Subscriber's Cargo Hold" where you can buy previous models for around the price previous subscribers paid (usually around 9.99 pounds). Also, they don't want people just coming in and buying a few models, canceling, and then coming back later when something else they want is added, so once you quit you can't rejoin. If you're used to free models, this can seem a little expensive, but compared to most artists who are selling their models a la cart, it's actually pretty cheap. As I said, I don't work for them or anything, so if you have any questions you can try asking them on Facebook or their website.
Mighty Jabba's Collection ok, thank you. I imagined something like that when I asked. Makes sense, and it's totally reasonable, but I'm not sure it's for me. There's so much free stuff out there, I think I'd prefer to donate he and there if I really love something, and in general I feel like I should learn to model myself, haha. Fantastic print and project though, so I'm glad they're getting some support for their trouble. The whole star warsiness of their collection does make it very tempting.
Cool, very cool. But I found my droid for $20. Is it worth the money & time ?. I enjoy making things. But do u feel it’s worth it? Amanoman figure, u printed, was neat.! And he’s expensive. But u have to have a programmed model. Then buy the download, right??? Nice thanks
If you enjoy the process I think it’s worth it. Your $20 droid figure is a lot smaller than this one for what it’s worth. But it is quite a bit of work
@@MightyJabbasCollection right, your home made droids awesome, perhaps I can find me a small one & see. I have to complete my barge “roll call”. I just have jabba & 2 astromech’s 😄. Then maybe I can create the full size jabba. Thanks
Well I think I’d probably still do it more or less the same way, because my resin printer is too small for something like this without cutting it up into a lot of pieces.
@@MightyJabbasCollection Totally understandable Which I was thinking you would do, print them in individual parts and glue them together with a little bit of resin and a UV flashlight, I'm sure the Paint filler helped, however, it wouldn't compare with the detail the resin printer can do.
I am unable to get those STL files from them even if I subscribe to BIATWC. Any chance you are willing to sell me the files on the basis I will not resell? I'll even sign a notarized letter etc if need be.
I'm usually not a complainer... but why does the 'build it' group have a limited number of member slots... that just gives it a sour 'elitest' group feel. Thats not a dig at you but rather those who are running it. If I am happy to pay the $50 + $10 monthly... why not just let me?
I don't really know -- that is a change they made later on and I'm not familiar with the details. I do know that they are concerned about people reselling/sharing the models and have been pretty proactive about managing who they let in (to the point of being a bit paranoid about it TBH), but I don't know if that is a separate issue.
@@MightyJabbasCollection I get that. Obviously none of the frustration is aimed at you - the bot you did is awesome. Just as a star wars fan the thingiverse files only go so far. It makes sense but is also disappointing.
I would have been so tempted to put Luke’s lightsaber in the snow as an Easter egg.
Great paint work and I like the snow trick! Looks great!
Really good job. The base looks amazing.
One of my favorite droids. Empire tech is my favorite from the Original Trilogy.
I’ll be printing mine this week! So excited
very cool! I've had my sideshow collectibles probe for a few years and love it! my favorite star wars droid by far!
Nice paint job! Thanks for the tips you gave along the way, I learned several good things from your video.
Fantastic and as a Star Wars mega fan I love that 3D printing is allowing so many more of these superb iconic models to exist in the world outside of super expensive toy versions you can buy.
(Mind blown) Looove this, great job MJC!!
Base turned out well as well as the model, great stuff
Looks like a freaking movie prop! Fantastic work!
That's awesome looking. The only thing I would do differently is maybe use a clear plastic support rod maybe white.
i think it looks amazing!
This is a great model and made with a lot of care and attention to detail. Well done!
Fanfreakingtastic dude! It looks amazing!!!
That's absolutely incredible!!! 🙄💯✔
Must try this one. Great paint work!
That is incredible!
Awesome work. 👍🏻
Te ha quedado genial. Me encanta, buen trabajo.
Good job! Came out great.
I need my daily Jabba!
Thanks Jabba!

Great job
That looks good. I think that I have to get my 3d printer to work :)
Holy shit that came out amazing!!!!
Great looking model :)
Nice job!!
Hey there!!! I'm inspired by your photos 😊
Great job like always
You should make entire Star Wars scenes, like Jabba the Hutt with his guards and Han Solo! That would be awesome!

very nice :) you can try also with a transparent acrylic tube to make it look like its floating in the air
Love it!
Here's a tip for snow effect, use Rustoleum white texture spray paint?
Looks amazing man!🤘🤘🤘

Spot on..

Heh, that might explain why I had trouble getting through. I was more focused on filming than drilling.
Looks great. Would be nice to add a sound chip to the base...ive always loved the sounds of the probots weird language
that metal effect looks great what kind of paint did you use? I tried recently to do that but failed to get the right look.
I just used “DecoArt” acrylic paints that you can buy individually at Michael’s craft stores. I hadn’t used them before but they weren’t bad
That’s dope
AWESOME..!
Would have put an acrilic transparent rod to hold it to fake levitation. But overall : 'wow'! I wana buy a 3d printer now!

Man i wish had a 3d printer
He’s so cute
Can you do a review on the vintage rancor, I would love to see it
Lime Master Thanks. I really should do that. It’s been on the list for ages
Also, if you use 2 part epoxy vice a glass coat you will get a much nicer more realistic glass/glossy look
I use it regularly for glass or eyeballs
What brand do you use?
I use adhaero 5 min epoxy. But any epoxy should do the same as epoxy resins dry clear. I use the 5 minute syringe epoxy because I don't need alot and you can get it at any hardware store for around $10

That looks great! But i doubt you would remember what filament you used to print this?
It was probably 3D Solutech silver PLA, but I'm not positive
I guess running the drill in reverse is a known trick when drilling in soft material ?
Yea. I noticed that also.
Hi ya, is this studio scale? And what would you charge for a raw kit? Please respond.
Probe droid came back on Kenobi
he didnt paint the lenses with a red undertone but once again it would be hard to do by hand i think
what kind of paint did you use?
turned out lovely! the snow on the base is very nicely done!
if i subscribe to build it and they will come, do we get the back catalog too?

Can you recommend a filler primer for model work? All I see on line is automotive.
I just use the Rustoleum brand stuff and it has worked well. I’m not sure there is any made specifically for models
@@MightyJabbasCollection Thank you!
Ive been looking for a CR19 at a decent price.
Why do you use honeycomb infill vs linier? It takes longer and most models don't need that extra strength. Thanks!
Oh, no particular reason here. It may have just been selected previously in my slicer, but I do kind of like the way it looks :)
Aaah! ...me too. LOL
Yay!!
Are all past models available when I sign up for their subscription or if I don't do it now I won't get to download this droid in the future?
OhFishyFish Members can purchase previous models if they want to
Thanks, any idea on pricing? It might be worth signing up even just for this model if previous models are close to the monthly fee.
Pricing varies, although it’s not too bad. You might try asking around the Facebook group to get a better idea
wow this is amazing 👏. I really like this droid. do you know if it is still available?
It should be, but you would have to become a member and then buy it separately
This looks awesome!!!! How long did it print? Great coloration btw. I like it.
I can’t recall exactly how long it took, but a couple of days all together I believe
Thank you.
How aboug some rubber feet for the stand ?
That would also work. But the felt seems to have done the trick

What costs on printing something like this?
It depends on the cost of your filament of course but I would say less than $10

Wait. Who stole that droid. Looks like it came from the game Fallout. Mister Handy.
You can print .6mm on cr10
