Thank you for doing this! I am on the hull lining step now, only my second ship model, 5th counting model airways for high quality wood modeling... this step scares the hell out of me. The part around 4:30 i would never have thought to do, re closing the gap with a strake that isn't perfectly in line with the previous layer of planking. Question: how did you deal with any very small gaps between strakes when you closed up, or did you not have to?
Klappte sehr gut.
Looking at some of the videos, I see different types of glue that are used, It's very confusing. CA glue, contact cement, fast drying glue, all-purpose glue, thin CA glue, Gel CA glue. For the 2nd layer of planking...Oh boy.
not how you plank a hull...all the planks need to finish at the stem unless picked up earlier by a drop plank. The planks rising to end at another plank are just plain wrong, sorry. Dont do it this way
@@tomships The work is sloppy and illiterate, the plating on the bottom is superimposed in a completely different way, you need to do it the way it was done on real ships if this is a model, and if a child's toy, then you can.
@@tomships There are many similar videos on the Internet, they are apparently made to advertise the sets sold, but this has nothing to do with real ship modeling, I say this because I have been doing this all my life.
@@tomships Someone has done a great job and recreated the appearance of this ship by releasing wonderful books and detailed drawings, for which we are grateful to them, you just need to arm yourself with this literature, and I wish you success on the difficult and noble path of ship modeling :) Respectfully Y. great work... compliments
Thanks a lot ! :)
HOPE FOR MORE NEARLY

Thank you so much !!! :) 👍🤝
I think you are doing a fine job ... there are many ways to do the planking , some , easy, some difficult .
Thank you so much Michel! 🤝
good job as always!!
Thanks always !!!
There is a more realistic pattern to use on the planking but it's about practice and I'm still trying to get better at it!
Yes you are right 🤝👍😊

Danke für den Vorschlag 🤝es ist interessant 👍☺
Question for you. Does the glue clog the pores so when you go to stain the planking you then have blotches?
Blotches? No :)

ohh yeah dude :O
What kind of wood glue are you using on the 2nd planking?
Now i use tidebond glue, the best for me. And sometimes super moment glue :)
What glue do you use?
Wood glue (Moment) :)

Thought I was bad at planking . Good effort but no
👍😊
Look carefully at how this person makes the model and remember, this should never be done.
What do you mean ? :)
