- So I've been hunting for a 4x4 for the better part of the past year. To my luck, a guy in the Seattle area put up a great condition and well priced 1993 Toyota Land Cruiser FZJ80 with triple lockers, if ya know, then ya know. Thats the good good.
Whats the first thing I do? Call up my buddy Benson to see if he wanted to see what my new old purchase could do. So we drove over some rocks and some dirt, and did some flying. We got to the flying spot right as the sun had set over the ridge.
Luckily we had enough time to get a couple of packs in during those last few moments.
Heres to the new truck taking me to more and more cool local places.

Still getting amazing shots. Practice rig is super dope and bulletproof. Big plus that it is affected by wind a lot less due to weight. Super stable platform. On 6s its a monster with low kv 28xx motors.
The practice rig is really great. Its one of my go to rigs when I just want some to fly without any other fuss

It must take some serious planing doing long range flight like this? Where to stand and how to fly because the range is just nuts on this flight. On good thing about flying in the mountains is there is none other disturbing frequencies than your own :) I´m so jellous about your mountains and bush. Good clip
You definitely want to be more methodical and thoughtful when youre flying longrange.

just fairytale flying, , the dives were just the perfect mixture of horror and exciting. ps. you seem to have a little depth of field in your footage? did you mess with gopro lens focus? if not is it possible do you think to get maybe 50meters of sharp focus and then some nice blurring?

How do you guys fly in the damn cold man? Every beginning of the winter I freeze my fingers off and end up not flying all winter. Grrrrr....

@@JordanTemkin ok no, no joke here. For like two years I have been flying 0.8 0.8 0.0 as rates. Two or three months back I changed them to 0.6 0.8 0.0 and then to 0.5 0.8 0.0 without knowing you did too. These are magic numbers for sure. Just because I really don't want to buy the tbs source one 7": When will the super g+ restock?

Its currently bone stock other than tires, Ill be building it out over the next few years piece by piece. For now its time to rebuild all the things and flush fluids so I have a good starting point. But eventually the goal is to make it into my roadtrip/exploration rig

Do u guys use gps rescue with this type of flying? I rely love to venture to this flying style but all I can think is, how d hell will I retrieve my quad if iam getting a failsafe.. rely love this video thanks...
Ive never used or setup GPS rescue, I actually only have GPS on one of my quads. I prefer to plan my flights so that I minimize the risk of ever failsafeing in the first place. and if the quad does failsafe, I want as small of a search radius as possible.

What antenna is on your vtx?
Why don’t you use stabilization?
It makes the footage to sterile, no emotion or style. It just feels too clean and perfect when stabilized. Part of flying for me is that interpretive dance that happens when we FPV. Stab takes that away
