- I was invited by a friend to attend the annual 4 day Alpine ride run by my local HOG chapter. I discovered 3 things and I didn't expect this riding with a HOG chapter.

Glad you had a ball riding that area with a hog ride. My wife and I ride that area coming home from Brighter days.
As a life member of Harley owners group, I’ve ridden all over Australia and had a ball. I was the director of Newcastle hog for six years and on the committee for nine years. As a road captain also I went to many rallies and even leading two week rides to the NT state rally in Alice Springs, the Tasmanian state rally and around Tassie, and the National rally in Cairns to name a few.
HOG has all you say in the video. There are many great riders and some hard core.
Personally I throw my RG through the twisties regularly but are just as comfortable riding 1800 klms each way from Newcastle to Adelaide and back just to stay for the weekend and return. Over 3k in six days.
I love to ride and have ridden over 95k in the last 5 years.

Thanks for the video! I have been a HOG member and yes they are of now my age group older, but they don’t let the grass grow under the tires they laid down the miles. Loved the scenery looks like some awesome roads and that everyone had a good time. Keep the rubber side down.

My Street Glide was much easier to throw around the corners. The RG was faster on the straights as it had a 131 and a great tune
Really good video, very enjoyable. Thanks for posting it. I'm also one that avoids group riding. Unless it is with a few folks I've covered a lot of miles with. But there are times when it can be a lot of fun. Glad you found a group that suits you. I'll be taking a ride shortly myself, here in Oklahoma USA. Keep the shiny side up. And ride safe!

I actually find leading a group easier than following. I set the pace so the ride is always at my comfort level. The hardest part is getting people to line up by skill level. That way those up front with greater skills can enjoy a harder ride.

Amazing scenery and great video. Interestingly I shared the same views before joining my local chapter (Western Sydney HOGs) and all my views were wrong …. Now they can’t get rid of me 😅. I was lucky to meet some of the Dan hog at the national rally and they were great humans. Hopefully will get to catch up with them and you again at the VIC rally 🤙🏼

enjoyed this vid a lot. Well done. Unfortunately I had 3rd gear let go a couple of months back on the way down to the vic alps and had to cut the trip short. This reinforces what I missed. Time to plan the next trip

Please note - I can't use classic rock as it would be a copyright violation - i am restricted. Secondly it's impossible to please everyone - there is a long term method to my choices (including music) for many things that i won't disclose publicly. I can only change things that I can measure via the YT stats.
