I have this exact reel to reel. I'm pretty sure I cleaned it this way after I bought it but the left channel sounds muffled now. i'm gonna give it a fresh cleaning to see if it clears up. Thanks for the video.
Never clean the heads with the recorder turned on. Denatured alcohol is better to use than isopropyl alcohol. Edit: It does look like it might have been turned off.

Don’t put alcohol on the rubber piece like i did. There’s a special product for that. Good luck!
Just cleaned it and it works like new. Gotta love old tech. Nowadays with technology you either have to throw it out or ship it out to be fixed.
@@budgetprojectsbydavid5263 oops. Ok thanks. I’ll wipe it off with some water.
Sorry for the confusion. I was learning, too. I ended up using a product called CaiKleen RBR.
Lol the crack pipe and meth smoke gummed it up had me laughing out loud! Helpful vid thanks!

Did you get that unit from my druncle Dave??
Ha! Probably!
can ı use printer head cleaner for tape head and pinch roller?
The only thing i would caution is to not use anything with alcohol on rubber. Everything else should be fair game.
@@budgetprojectsbydavid5263 thank you so much
