- In this video, I will be showing you DIY Marquee Number 3 and 5 | Tips & tricks on how to make marquee numbers + Q & A. This is in line with my video on how to make marquee numbers with lights for a Dollar Tree DIY Birthday Décor and will be part of my marquee DIY series. These are 3ft Marquee Numbers using Dollar Tree foam boards - so you can add this video to your foam boards DIY projects.

Good catch 😊. I alternate depending on the surface I’m working on. Didn’t want hot glue messing up my floor as I’ve had an experience with the prior. Either own works but the best outcome is when it is glued around the edges versus on the top ☺️

What is a good paint to paint them because some paints will melt the foam I think?
Acrylic paint or chalk paint ideally. No spray paint
Hello! Can you tell me if you are using a high temp or low temp glue gun on the foam? And does it matter which is used?
I used high temp for the foam boards and yes it matters as the high temp one would bind them better together.

I always just print one number or letter at a time. It is easier that way.

It looks like you cut the sides then cut them again so are the strips 5inches after you cut the second time?
Yes, I trimmed them when I noticed it was slightly longer than 5inches.
When you say regular printing, what size you do on WORD Document to print this size?
Regular A4 letter size

My question is are the 4ft marquee numbers/letters generally used for a child’s event and 5ft and up generally used for adults? I don’t want to use 4ft for a man if it’ll look too small/short/little. Also when purchasing templates do you sell different size templates?
4ft and 5ft are good for adults. My RN marquee video is 4ft. I use 2ft and 3ft for kids. Yes I sell different sizes.

Just regular A4 and then put them together like a puzzle.

How many letters can the 50ft string light be used on?
Can’t tell because each letter is different and takes up different amounts of bulbs. I recommend you create your letters and punch your holes and count.

Cany anyone tell me how long these lasted without falling apart? I want to start working on these and put them aside for my B day 6 weeks away
If stored well, it lasts a long time. I made 40 for sis in law since a year and half ago and it’s been used by friends and family who turned 40 and I still have it.
