**I have reupload this again, instead of maintaining two channels, I now focus on single channel.
I have been waiting to create this for sometime...until recently I found this poly shape container which work perfect for creating the moss wall. In this video, I will be showing you how to making a terrarium moss wall from scratch.
The long-term maintenance is very simple. Just keep the moss hydrated and humidity level is high. I mist twice a week using RO water. Chlorine might kill the moss. The LED is 10W that turn on for 8 -10 hours daily.
Artfully done, nice work.
Thank you! Cheers!
I have the exact same container! Im making my mom a moss terrarium for her birthday! I saw yours and just had to check out how you did yours compaired to mine :) it looks absolutely beautiful! ❤
There is not right or wrong when come to moss terrarium. Each will become a piece of art by itself. Happy birthday
2 ur mum !
Where did you got this same container from?
@@raghavkhanna6893 I honestly don't remember 100%, it had been floating around my house for a while just collecting dust. But I want to say I found it at a thrift store
Impressive! Would love to have a cup of coffee and stare at that!
Actually I love doing this ...just that not sure if I should branch out a channel focusing on aquascaping, and terrarium
beautiful !
Thank you!
thsnk you
It's so satisfying
Thank you
Sorry to bother you, but I’m pretty new year and I was just wondering what you used to hold up the moss on the wall. Like is it just a clay?
Chris, please turn on the subtitles. I have all the details in subtitles
So beautiful..
Thank you! Cheers!
Very Good Setup. Is this required any fertilizers or any specific maintenance after making it
So far I never use any fertilizer, make sure to spray/mist from time to time. The water must be chlorine free, the moss very sensitive to chlorine
@@TonysExploration Thank you very much
Hello I was wondering what was that liquid that you sprayed. Is it just water?
Yes water only
what is the clay mix? is that vermicast and spaghnum moss or coir and spag?
Spaghnum moss with aquascaping soil ( grind to become powder). If you are unfamiliar with the aquascaping, try google aquascaping soil.
very nice setup! :) do you have an update for this? would love to see it how it's holding up. planning to make one now. :)
I will soon
I would like to see an update too!
How often do you spray with water? I made two following your steps. one with a door & one with out, the only difference I did was gardening soil
I highly recommend the door to keep the humidity as high as possible. I spray twice a day with door.
@@TonysExploration thank you!
what are the ingredients u use to make the wall
I guess you miss out the information, try to turn on the substitle
In terms of lighting, what’s your lamp setup like? Is it a strip light or just an overhead lamp
Just overhead 5W LED lamp.
Hello! I really hate to bother you, but I'm very new to this and I'm having trouble.. maybe I just don't understand.. but where the heck do you find that soil? There are so many options on amazon and I really don't know what the right one is.
I'm sorry. 😥
I can feel you. You will get overwhelmed if you try to research this on Amazon. Here is what I suggest for you.
Don't worry about the brand. Any aquascaping soil will do. It may be black color or like mine, red color soil.
Moss is not so particular about the soil preferences. Is all about the moisture. If fact you could use gardening soil as well. The reason I use aquascaping is that these are processed and baked, so you can less worry about pests/fungus carried by gardening soil and pH correct.
Another good thing about aquscaping soil is granule, it can hold the moisture but at the same time allow air and water to pass through.
You may want to buy in a smaller quantity. Those aquascaping normally sell in big bags for aquarium purposes.
For a start , ADA Aqua Soil Amazonia Ver 2 would be good enough.
@@TonysExploration I also got this terrarium, I;m wondering where did youbuy your moss? Can you kindly paste the link? Thank you!
@@goldbergvariations2426 I buy from mine local aquarium shop and also from community online group in facebook. You probably need to source from yr local community gardening group/aquascaping group...that is a good way to start
@@TonysExploration Thanks for your reply. My place doesn't have it in stock for the amazonian Ver2 soil, based on your experience, will this soil work as a substitute? www.amazon.com/Fluval-Stratum-Aquarium-Substrate-Aquatic/dp/B09XVP3HGK?ref_=ast_sto_dp&th=1 My main concern is whether it can stick to the glass vertically after pounding it to powder with added water. Thanks!
@@TonysExploration bruhhh thank you so much for the quick response. I was at a total loss. But this was very informative and I deeply appreciate your input. I'll have to keep researching but, this at least is pointing me in a much more understandable direction. 🥰🥰🥰
It looks like the container has a slight crack where the door and container meet. Is that fine? Or does it need to be completely sealed?
it doesn't matter at all..as long as the humidity is there, it fine.
Does it get molds/algae since the amazonia ada so rich in nutrients?
Not algae...but molds/fungus does happen in the beginning and need replace a portion of the moss.
@@TonysExploration how do you get rid of it? Do you trim it or totally remove the infected area?
@@jasonrivera9117 normally I quickly remove a portion of the moss the moment I see the mold...
Do you know if a 3 watt LED lamp would work for a moss terrarium this size? If yes, how many hours per day?
3watt could works, 6-8 hrs per day
@@TonysExploration I see there's not much difference in hours, then what's the difference between 3W and 10W lamp?
@@goldbergvariations2426I have many type of lights , it seems to works ..as long as the moisture is there. Sometimes the indirect light from the surrounding helps as well. I suggest you can start with 3watt and adjust accordingly if needed extra... sometime extra few hours behind the window could help
@@TonysExploration Thanks for the info. Unfortunately my room does not get sunlight, only ambient light and mostly blocked by neighbor's building😔
@@TonysExploration what about the humidity levels?
❤
Whats the second layer ? Charcoal ?
Kindly turn on the subtitle...I have listed all the ingredients
How come it holds vertically?
Yes ,it will. even when it dry out...it will still stick like a cement
@@TonysExploration does it still stick if water runs through it continuously?
@@jeydediah6343 ,no direct water run through, that is different kind of strategy if you want use water to run through .
Where do you find the moss and the case? i love it.
Pretty much I buy everything from online....i joined my local Facebook terrarium group...they have many things and moss on sales
You can find moss going outside especially at parks and trails.. hobby lobby has the case
What are the materials used
Please turn on the subtitles. I have listed all the materials and steps
