I’ve read that the reason why IS chose Diviner for Kaden because for the sake of explaining the legend of the kitsune they are known to be tricksters. Illusion magic is what they are good at. It also gets showcased in Conquest where they can go in and out of their illusion form. Not sure if I explained that right or not but I believe that is what they were going for.
There's actually a connection between real-life onmyoji and kitsune. Abe no Seimei, a famous onmyoji who lived in Heian-era Japan, was said to be the offspring of a human father and a kitsune mother. Perhaps Kaden's alternate class being Diviner is a reference to this.
@@lightbrand_ Yeah I feel ya. The best I ever got with him was when you have a unit or two able to solo one half of the map (looking at you, chapters 23 and 25) while Kaden handles the respawning cavalry (though you'll need other units to help him with this).
I always clown on Kaden for being 1-range locked at base and joining in a map that is FULL of 2-range, but I found out quite recently that he doesn't get movement penalties from the ice, which helps him out in ambushing enemies. Which is really nice, since he actually is able to one-round the unpromoted guys.
I’m surprised you guys didn’t mention a vantage Omnioji build for him I mean, +4 from Even, +2 mag, +5 tome fair, +10 Life & death, for a total of +21 mag damage (& there’s still Rally mag, tonics, meals, etc) now I’m curious if magic vantage strats aren’t as good in BR as they are in CQ I decided to cross compare him with Odin & oh my, I can see why you didn’t recommend that, by himself the earliest Kaiden can Max his Mag is lv 83, that’s without class dipping & immediately heart sealing+ promotion at lv20 STILL THOUGH!! I would’ve been interesting lol, maybe I’ll play around with Quixotic & Astra to make up the difference in damage XD
"Partnering with Mozu or Setsuna is herculean" I give a >.> with the revelation poke through I'm doing with Mozu/Kaden, XD; I know these are more "talking about birthright/conquest" than rev route, but it made me giggle... I may have to look at this "The Unkillable" for a future playthrough too; can't easily do that with him married with Mozu, as it stands, for the current (where I started work to play around with Paladin Sakura)
In my first run I partnered Kaden with Setsuna Now with more experience I realize that combo would have ended poorly if I wasn't on easy mode Worth it for the blue stripe in Selkie's hair tho
I do think Kaden would be better in Conquest because his role is more unique there (+4 speed bonus at base is very valuable), he could take the rune stone from keaton (even tho he is better) and you need units that are more especialized in facing some types of units while he has better hit rates than keaton
Older video and will ask a question on Sakuras later apologies but for Kaden relevancy because no child Videos. What pairing would you recommend to build a strong Selkie?
I know it's really dumb and impractical but I almost always spend Corrin in Merc on him or Selkie. He just gets such stupid hp regain with sol, but then Selkie can get renewal, sol, even better, potent potion, and quick salve and become completely unkillable with the upside of making Kana even more unkillable with their personal skill with dragonstones. Again, by no means is it good, but I do love the shenanigans of just wading in and healing everything every turn.

@@wishonpleiades6288 that’s honestly really cool. The lore of games can be more interesting than the games themselves.
I agree with the critiques against the Kitsune class line, but counterargument... the animations are cool as heck.
You know I would agree, but when you hit those lategame maps on lunatic trying to make a kitsune work is just a depressing endeavor

I honestly love listening to these while playing conquest lunatic myself. It gives me really weird build ideas. :)
I was inspired by the sakura vid to try paladin elise(the hit rate is still kinda shaky with 70%-80% but still hits pretty hard)
@@markyohancerafael8980Wait, do Bolt Naginatas even exist in conquest?
@@darkttt2803 No, unfortunately. It would open up so many hilarious builds.
@@darkttt2803 sadly no but hey levin sword is there
Not as good but still pretty decent
21:02 -"the other even skill he gets is even better"
I see what you did there
He's good boi. That's the best stat.
I actually started replaying Birthright because of these videos. Excelletb deep dives, keep them coming!

Love the streets of rage music used!!
An hour and a half I enjoyed spending with you gentlemen. Now please go brush your silky fur.
Yes! I love Kaden, I really wanted to hear your take on him.

In Rev it makes more sense because in Sniper he's bananas lol
Birthright in a nutshell: Why use XXX when Ryuma exists
Kaden is funny because you can marry he to Azura or Corrin and have Shigure or Kana as kitsunes which is funny

although I primarily play Conquest, I do enjoy your videos
Try Conquest with Birthright unit swap.

Yeah I first realized how tanky he was when he was soloing the opera map where garon and Xander show up and you’re supposed to escape.
I should download these videos when my wifi providers start to do bs with me
Kitsune is really unfortunate. Magekiller, and yet can't hit mages.
When's the Rinkah video or is she gonna be the very last character in this series?
Used to love kaden back in , despite the kitsune class being kinda bad inherently. I am interested to see the explanation for the title
Do we have the same fates games ? cause i found Kitsune and ulfedin to be the most op class ngl -
Literatly the only one Issue i had with Kaden the entire game was for the great knight on his first chapter
