Whoa. Colorado mountains have always been a dream of mine as a destination. Colorado in general, honestly. Me and my pops did a 1500 mile trip through New England, New York state, and Pennsylvania on motorcycles last july. It really makes me want to see some more of north America. Thanks for sharing your experience, adam. You the man.
We have taken grandchildren a number of times on the loop We have a condo in Frisco next to Breckenridge. We were also in Estes Park when you were.We like Golden and have tubed the river. There is so much to do in CO.Glad that you are taking time to travel and enjoy life. Will Smith
I just rode that in July on my first trip to Colorado. It was absolutely beautiful. The creek was probably my favorite part. lol I've already bought plane tickets for a return trip during Thanksgiving.
Thanks for sharing. I have been to Colorado a lot years ago but it was always in the winter time to snow ski i have told my wife we need to go the in the summer to see all the cool stuff like this. Have a great week!!!
Looks like you two had a great ride. A few years ago my wife and I took the same tour. It was earlier in the year, end of May. The weather started just about what you had but soon it started to cloud up and by the end of the trip is was snowing. There were a lot of very unprepared people on that ride.
I do not like heights. I do not like them from a ridge, I do not like them on a bridge. I do not like them in a plane, I do not like them on a train. Still, a great way to see the beautiful Colorado mountains.
Then DO NOT take the Durango & Silverton NG out of Durango to Silverton because on the high line the side of the rail car is over the edge of the shelf for the track while the other side of the car is about 12 inches from the rock face.
In a mine the ceiling is called the back, the walls are the pillars and where they are mining is the face. Here in Sudbury, Ontario, Canada our Nickel mines are large enough to drive huge trucks and other machinery and go to depths of over 7000 ft. Here's another Sudbury mine video, North Mine, and better video quality... ruclips.net/video/OekF8_wVA9w/видео.html This mine has ramp access so you can drive from surface down into the mine.
I rode behind the Shay in '96. It was great until they sanded the flues. The sand out of the stack was hot! The Conductor said, "Oops, not enough side wind!"
They have several engines in the yard, maybe they swap them out at different times. As with all of the railroads I’ve been to some are being worked on while others are in service.
Beautiful. I'm reluctant to bring politics into this, but it saddens me that they will call this a "white supremacy" and close it in 20 years, just like they are currently doing with our monuments, murals, literature, holidays, ... heritage in general.
What a lovely whistle
I can listen to 111 whistle everyday
Awesome I watched this & booked ticket 🎟
Definitely looks like it getting added to our adventure! Thanks for the recommendation!
I guess it is kinda off topic but do anybody know of a good place to watch new movies online?
@Matias Briar Flixportal
@Beckett Kashton thanks, signed up and it seems like they got a lot of movies there =) I appreciate it!

Very nice. So glad you two are happy. Life is short.
Thanks for the video Adam & Abby.
Adam and Abby, our family took the same ride about 16 years ago. We had a great time, I even think the narration was the same! Great job filming.
Great video. Clear crisp focus. A beautiful place to see.
That was a beautiful ride . Nice adventure 👍👌😎
That was a wonderful video I really enjoyed it thank you Adam 😊❤️
Was at Georgetown loop early last summer. Great railroad, great steam, and great crew.

Adam, Thanks for a fine video visit.
My buddy works there in the shop. He lives in a caboose on a siding. I’ve walked that whole track a couple of times, pretty cool
Thank you for the upload. That train ride was wonderful.
Awesome, thanks for sharing!
The engine at 18:52 is the power plant for an air locomotive for mine use. At 19:32 the riveted beams are the upside down turntable.
Looks like a great time....
It is I went there one time and it's a really fun train ride
Glad you had a good time in Colorado
@18:50...looks like the same stoker engine that Keith Rucker is working on...
Everything is so pristine it looks like it could be a new "Coloradoland" attraction at Disney
Looked like that was a great train trip.

I like that trip, was a fun ride.
Another good one. Thanks guys. By the way. I Love steam powered anything.
I agree stream trains are awesome
Nice!! Amazing place... :-)
Fantastic!
I think the best time to go is in the fall
That bridge is scary... :-)
How long did this ride last?
Remember all of that equipment was drug through the mountains before highways!
Nice share (&*
Is that round trip?

How much for the whole loop?
Adam, how long of a ride is it? Looks like a nice place to visit.
If you take the mine tour just under 2 1/2 hours total.
I love that ride. Too bad they don't use the Shay locomotive to pull the train like they use to.
I rode behind the Shay in '96. It was great until they sanded the flues. The sand out of the stack was hot! The Conductor said, "Oops, not enough side wind!"

Is it just me or does 2-6-2 # 12, 2-8-0 # 111, and D&RGW 168s bells sound similar?? Almost too similar.
Rollin' coal (literally) :-) @9:35
If a 2" bar will bend in a lathe, I'm pretty sure that bridge will bend under a train.
See an article about Creighton mine and see some pics of the equipment underground... viewpointmining.com/article/digging-deeper-by-the-day
