    If Sam would diversify his vocal delivery and melody then my listening experience would’ve been a lot better. Every chorus blends with each other on every track and it gets grating after the the first couple of songs.
    It’s sad when you know what these guys are capable of and they go and put this out

    To me the last great album from Architects is Holy Hell, with how they turned a painful tragedy into a heartbreaking and powerful album.
    After this my opinion of their albums ranges to forgettable. This album is proof though that they are starting to get weaker.
    I do think ending at Holy Hell would have been a great decision honestly.

    I’ve been a fan of this band since Lost Forever / Lost Together. I appreciated the last album even though it was different, but I can’t stand by this one. It was a pain to get through, I found myself struggling with every single song, with the exception of “Burn Down My House”, the only song I could vibe with. Each song can’t tell what they wanted to be, and they feel longer than they actually are. I’m severely underwhelmed with this album, which is a damn shame because LF/LT, AOGHAU, Holy Hell and even FTTWTE were a great 4 hit combo in my opinion. This was a massive disappointment through and through. I was contemplating buying a physical copy of this album but after listening, I can’t spend money on this shit. Just a shit show all the way through.

    I don't want to trash the band or anything (I appreciate every artist and think they should express their creativity in the way they find fitting), but given how popular/mainstream they are, I though the underwhelming impression I got after listening their singles had to be just due to my "inability" to "understand" the direction the modern metal is heading.. Now I'm glad is wasn't just me :)

  • @alexddragame
    @alexddragame 2 года назад +6

    Yay, glad to find someone else who isn't just mild on this record but actually dislikes it. I'm a fan of Architects, been for quite awhile, like-to-love all of their albums outside of the previous one, but it had its moments, I didn't thought it was as bad as some people said it was, it just wasn't really Architects to me. I'd be fine if after Holy Hell they just stopped as Architects, that was a good note to end on and tribute their friend and guitarist Tom Searl. But this new album? A New Moral Low Ground aside- I think it awful. Bland stock radiocore with nothing-to-bad writing, overblown production, buttrock riffs, Sam sounds like anyone else in the scene and...look, I know how it looks when a fan of the band says "they don't sound like themselves anymore", I'm not saying that I just wanted them to replicate LF//LT until the end of time, I'm fine with them doing new things. The problem is, things they doing just don't work. 2-3/10. All IMO of course.

      I actually liked the ending of a new moral low ground, I thought the breakdown guitar tone was kinda sweet. It makes me think there's something there y'know? To me it captured a little bit of creativity and energy I wish went further. My recurring impression of the album was that the breakdowns sounded good usually. There was usually something about them that I liked. I kept wishing the songs started with that kind of energy and further built on it somehow. The choruses and writing were my biggest problems on this album.

    I'm gonna copy and paste my comment that i left on the Metal Trenches Review of the album
    I Was willing to give this album a chance, and i did....And its quite literally one of the worst albums of 2022, if not Top 10,
    Where do i even begin? the mixing is atrocious, downright quite at times even at the highest volumes, the vocals are absolutely horrendous, and its a fucking joke, and speaking of vocals, just because Oliver Sykes are able to pull of...whatever the hell Sam Carter is trying to do, it doesn't mean he can pull off that same vocal deliveries, seriously some of them are either laughable or extremely irritating, and speaking of irritating, the lyrics, MY, GOD, The lyrics are... there's is no words to describe the lyrics, so i let a RUclips clip speak for itself
    ruclips.net/video/umDr0mPuyQc/видео.html
    By the way, i relistened to For Those That Wish To Exist, and while i still think its an okay album, comparing TCSOABS to FTTWTE, the latter fucking knocks this one out of the ring, at least FTTWTE had its moments, this one doesn't, not one single song makes me want to re-listen to the album, or just pick out the individual songs that i kind of thought is okay to re-listen to those, seriously, not one song is good on this album, and i genuinely mean that, Not the singles, not the deep cuts, nothing, not one riff, not one chorus, nothing, and side note, how long did it take to make this album? if we take into account of touring and promoting the previous album, maybe they had, at best, a year to make this album? and it really does show, because newsflash. Not every artist is able to make banger after banger in such a short time, For Example, Undead Corporation released 22 LPs in 13 Years, and while some are weaker than others, their LPs are still great, and instead of this band taking their time, to maybe iron out the album better, they released it the way it is, and then they had the AUDACITY to outright Gaslight their own audience on FACEBOOK of all places, who By the way, even they questioned why the album sounds garbage, speaks volumes how much this band has fallen
    At best, on a scale of 1 to 10, this is a 0, its just time wasting for anyone, for the casual fans and even the long time fans alike, if they don't start to turn things around i don't see a good future for the band.

    It might be a harsh thing to say but I feel like Tom would be rolling in his grave if he heard the new sound of Architects. Like damn all our gods have abandoned us and holy hell were miles and miles ahead in terms of sound compared to this dumpster fire. But honestly one of the best songwriters being dead (Tom) isn't the only reason they fell off in terms of sound. AOGHAU and Holy hell were the last songs that had Tom's amazing writing but I feel like architects wanted to hit mainstream buttrock or something after holy hell which was a major downgrade to their sound. I know what they're capable of, they used to be my favourite band but this garbage has to go or I'm not going to give their newer stuff a chance anymore.

    normally I disagree with a lot of your takes but you nailed it on the head with this one. I can’t defend them anymore lol I couldn’t even get through the whole thing and they were one of my favorite metal bands at one point. What pisses me off is like we know what they’re capable of, Dan Searle has layed down some of my favorite drum tracks in the genre. In this album it sounds like they amputated his left foot before letting him step in the studio. Almost every song on this album is 4 on the floor and boring. They’ve fully embraced the Imagine Dragons-core trend and it’s so disappointing.
