When your in the middle of a desert you don't get to order in 50 different attachments and tend to get used to just the rifle and maybe a sight. If you collect good boy points you might get a flashlight (don't know why you would ever need one unless your seal team six though), rail covers, or grip but generally you get extremely comfortable with just the barebones rifle. This video is essentially a kid talking about how using a bike with training wheels is the best way to ride a bike. But i can tell you after 1-2 hours of using the rifle that grip isn't going to be so fun to hold on to, and youll want to just pull your hand back. Also throwing on a flashlight, laser pointer, and grip might not seem like a lot of weight but once again, if your using it for extended periods of time it tends to get heavy. I didn't personally dislike it but i can see how some people might.

Build what's best for you. Wise words man. I have become partial to BCA uppers. They've never let me down. My ultimate build consists of a 10" upper with an upgraded nickel boron BCG, PSA lower (yea they're cheap but they work perfectly), Timney Targa drop in trigger. BAD lever, ATI grip, anti walk pins, MAGPUL BUIS and foregrip, SB Tactical pistol brace, Sig Sauer red dot sight, and a Streamlight TLR1HL. I also have become very impressed with the "Okay Industries" aluminum magazines. I bought a couple at a pawn shop several years ago and absolutely loved them. So I did some internet searching and found more available. They're very lightweight and reliable. Anyway, I dig your videos and trust your advice sir. Thanks for the upload!
Lucas...Great video. It's the first one of yours that I watched. You can go places, young man. Your thoughts are concise and very well presented. I subscribed. Looking forward to seeing more of your vids. One suggestion. Instead of tape, use Velcro cable ties. You can get 100 of them for about 10 bucks or less. They have a multitude of uses. I've gone through 200+ of them in the past 7 years. if one is not long enough you can easily put 2 or more together to get the length you need. I use them to keep cables. cords, hoses, etc; neatly wrapped up.
Thank you so much for the slowmo on the reloads. I just spent half an hour searching RUclips and couldn’t find it. Came back to your videos to enjoy and found exactly what I was looking for.
WHOA!!!!! A video where Lucas is NOT saying "If you suck, you suck." ..... This must have been before the point in time in which Lucas concluded that, he's awesome and we all suck.
There sites online, like Bite the Bullet for example where you can get bulk ammo affordably. I believe he has some videos about how he prices and finds ammo.
I use ammoseek. If you are buying in bulk and looking for cost effective rounds for practice, it's a great site. It runs down just about every online retailer and gives you a price per round on all of them.
Wolf ammo with little to no cleaning. Wow, that’s impressive. I’ve seen this video at least 100 times and that carbine platform is probably my fav out of your collection. Your Arsenal AK74 is probably my second fav.
I just ran across this video. Good job! I was beginning to think that only I and a few friends of mine were the only ones that ran ARs hard. I have 6 of them. 4 of them are in real good condition (mostly for plinking and hunting) and are not ran too hard but the remaining 2 are my favorites and we run the hell out of them and they look pretty much the same as yours!
Bruh you are fast af. I work full-time and I also have full custody of my 3 year old daughter (single father). But I know the importance of training and every opportunity I get i get my ass to the range and I train, but seeing your speed and accuracy and PRECISION is just such a powerful reminder of how much harder I need to work.
this is the only guy on RUclips whose gun advice I take. toooooo many tacticool beard faces in chest rigs and ballistic helmets on RUclips. excellent videos and I can wait to buy a ragnorok
how so? He said to use that in case you have a baddy in your house for real? I think a shotgun or a pistol carbine would be a much better choice, also ideal if someone else in your family should have to use one as well. an AR will not be ideal in every situation, that would have been a wiser thing to say in my opinion, still if thats all you have expect some holes through your house and probably your neighbors as well thats not to mention any collateral damage.
@@Holret have you ever actually seen any ballistic tests on pistol caliber carbines and shotguns vs a 55gr AR bullet? You get FAR more over penetration through sheetrock walls than you do with a 55gr projectile. If you dont know, and I mean know by doing the experiments it isnt wise to boast so strongly your uneducated opinion. It SEEMS like a PCC or shotgun might be better, but the data show that in an experienced persons hands, an AR is a great choice for in the house.
I've watched this video over and over while building my rifles. Thanks for the clear and simple advice. I went with a suppressed 300 blackout for home defense and set it up much like yours. I haven't been able to afford night vision yet but maybe someday. Obviously whatever system you choose practice (rounds down range) is the most important part of the build.
finally someone with real skills, after so many videos with a bunch of show off beard faces but no content..subscibed...any advice about building a rifle like yours?
Franco Porto Optics Planet, SKD Taxtical, & Palmetto Armory between those 3 can get about all of what you need at best price. That Lptic he’s running costs more than the rifle itself but it’s a big part of it. Good advice on the set up. I do all mine separate. Put the money into the upper ( barrel , BCG, charging handle ). Save a lot of money by not buying high dollar lowers
I've been shooting "typical" hunting guns for decades....12 ga./ 30-06... I understood about 1/2 of what this kid said! Makes me want to learn more and get one of these guns! Nice video....thumbs up.
Trust me sir, they're a great experience. If you're interested, AR-15s can be used in coyote and hog hunting quite effectively in 5.56. If you're interested in something more powerful, there are AR-15 designs chambered in 7.62x39 Soviet (same power as .30-.30 Winchester), .300 Blackout (similar to the previous cartridge in power, fantastic when suppressed, more accurate, but slightly more expensive), .458 SOCOM (straight wall cartridge good for deer), and many others. If you want a AR in a familiar cartridge, AR-10s are chambered in. 308 Winchester and even 30.06 (uncommon). Best of luck sir!
Sums up the important factors very well. Every rifle, pcc etc. needs to be purpose built. Only question is, what is YOUR purpose? Then train with that rig, and become competent and very familiar with the rig you’re using. Period.
Hey Lucas, huge fan of the channel and of that sweet 13.7. I was hoping you could do a video where you discuss SBR, pistol, and something like the 13.7 or even 14,16” rifles and your opinions on each of them respectively from a defensive perspective. I would love to hear your insight before I build. Thanks and keep up the great work!
I learned from a hypnosis instructor once that people speak at the same rate that they understand, or the same rate that their mind works (sales seminar actually and it was good advice to not talk faster or slower than the person you are attempting to influence) those quick twitch muscles often seem to go with the faster talkers, well I know that's true from paying close attention all these years and this guy is such a fast shooter and talker that it is striking to see such an example of the theory in plain view. You notice his shooting, he doesn't miss much and he doesn't stumble around looking for the right words or throw in lot's of "um", "ah" and filler words that are not needed to get the message across. My point is, I like this kid and I've already learned several usable things from him, I trust his opinion because you can see the great results of his discipline. I like that he spends time teaching and not just competing or showing off, but mainly I like his style, compared to the usually RUclips gun guys, he doesn't waste my time with slow, boring shooting and dim witted speech and attempted crappy humor in place of helpful knowledge that people can actually put to use.
Like your gear and RUclips content, but I have to say I like reading jealous ass peoples' comments the most. It's so entertaining lol. I'll be picking up a Ragnarok soon to go with my 3 raptor holsters. Keep up the good work!
as much as I like Hickok, i find he babbles a lot. this channel, is far and above, for practical shooters. We know H45 can hit whatever he is aiming at, but there's so much good training info on TREX, it's superior.
Just recently started watching this kid and no homo but I’m super impressed. He’s not condescending in any way, not a gorilla juice head claiming to be a spec ops war hero... just a regular, well spoken guy who knows what he’s doing.

I appreciate your wealth of knowledge and the concise simplicity with which you share it!
I keep coming back to this video because I think the rifle is beautiful.
I was thinking i was the only one, battle worn look is the best look.
@Bernard El do you know what rifle that is?
Genaoraxion! Do u know what rifle that is?
@@calebgarcia8047 BCM 14.5" upper with whatever mil-spec lower you want. Also BCM bolt carrier group and possibly Raptor ambi charging handle. Aimpoint T2 red dot. Surefire Scout light
@@surfingtothestars correction it’s a 13.7 inch upper
Brother, I don't know why you aren't more well known on RUclips? You are a straight BEAST, when wielding a firearm! Great video, as usual.
+Trae UCity thanks man! Only just started. But over 20k subs already, so... I'm sure it'll come with time. :)
Okay, I honestly didn't assume I'd gather much good info when I saw how young he looked, but that dude can run a AR-15 like John Wick lol
John Wick wants to be like Lucas when he grows up. 😎
Angry Muffin04 what are you basing that statement on? Honestly curious.
Angry Muffin04 hmmm, well, as a novice shooter, I have experience with none of the above. Theoretically though, seems like somebody could be versed in both forms of engagement.
Dude Your Skill Level Is Off The Chart! Excellent Content And Illustration Of How Each Tasks Should Be Mastered! Consider Me A Student And A Fan! Thanks For The Great Videos! Peace!
One of the sickest builds I’ve ever seen
That reload time was insane. Your hand eye coordination is other worldly lol.
2:43 was the most beautiful reload I’ve ever seen
The full speed footage gives me chills every time I see it
Lucas...Great video.
Finally a well edited, to the point, video without some overly long dubstep intro and awful sound. Earned a sub for sure
With a finger like that, his girlfriend must love him
Jesse you are a pig...
yeah you pig its the tongue what matters
rafael CB lole nice
With guns as pricey as those....I’d be surprised if he had one
He's actually been married for 10 years with 6 kids and a pair of twins on the way
that's alot like the set up it had when I was in Afghanistan with the light and pac 15. but holy fuck your fast
+THE Justin Schmidt thanks!
There sites online, like Bite the Bullet for example where you can get bulk ammo affordably. I believe he has some videos about how he prices and finds ammo.
@deh175: Considering he is "The Man Behind T.REX ARMS "... I'd say it is job related :D:D
I use ammoseek. If you are buying in bulk and looking for cost effective rounds for practice, it's a great site. It runs down just about every online retailer and gives you a price per round on all of them.
Another awesome video. Love the clear mindedness with which you present the practicality of your choices.
Thanks Luke.
Wolf ammo with little to no cleaning. Wow, that’s impressive. I’ve seen this video at least 100 times and that carbine platform is probably my fav out of your collection. Your Arsenal AK74 is probably my second fav.
"Practicool, not Tacticool." Well-earned Sub.
It's awesome how he just gets straight to the point the entire 7-minute video.
Wow, what a great video. Awesome, no nonsense advice from a really practiced, skilled mechanic.
He should have his own character for call of duty
Put this guy as skin in warzone
Well, he did mocap in cod. So I guess in a way, he is integrated in the game already.
this is the only guy on RUclips whose gun advice I take. toooooo many tacticool beard faces in chest rigs and ballistic helmets on RUclips. excellent videos and I can wait to buy a ragnorok
Don't know if you ever got that Ragnarok, but I LOVE mine. Recommend all day long. And the sidecar as well. This dude can make a holster
Amen, the beard shit needs to stop
Then you see Asian guys who put a beard on to look like them
@@Holret have you ever actually seen any ballistic tests on pistol caliber carbines and shotguns vs a 55gr AR bullet? You get FAR more over penetration through sheetrock walls than you do with a 55gr projectile. If you dont know, and I mean know by doing the experiments it isnt wise to boast so strongly your uneducated opinion. It SEEMS like a PCC or shotgun might be better, but the data show that in an experienced persons hands, an AR is a great choice for in the house.
A straightforward, well versed gun owner trying to give newbies clear information?! *confused gun control advocate noises.*
🗣💯
I've watched this video over and over while building my rifles. Thanks for the clear and simple advice. I went with a suppressed 300 blackout for home defense and set it up much like yours. I haven't been able to afford night vision yet but maybe someday. Obviously whatever system you choose practice (rounds down range) is the most important part of the build.
Wow, amazing shooting in the range Lucas - quick, on the line and very accurate. Impressed bro I am hooked to your channel
finally someone with real skills, after so many videos with a bunch of show off beard faces but no content..subscibed...any advice about building a rifle like yours?
Franco Porto have lots of money.
Just because he can't grow a beard doesn't mean he's better than all the other guys who have one.
Dan Humphreys but he's still better. What's your point? Lol
Dan Humphreys He has the skills, many don't beard or no beard.
The heart of the rifle, that sounded so deep and profound :')
One of the best videos from a younger person i have ever seen. Good job
I am very impressed with your narrative, product and delivery. I love it man! Thanks for sharing some really cool stuff! Cheers.
Dude has wall hacks, aim bot, and reload mods confirmed. No but for real that was awesome, informative, and straight to the point. Good job man.
you ever ask yourself "when should i stop bending this hat bill?"
Derek Shannon Lmao this just made my day thanks
Doesn’t he know kids in his age group prefer keeping it flat?
When the corners touch
NF Fan only people that keep there hat bill flat is rappers and people that wear 59 50 hats
You ain’t from the south, are you?
when a robber breaks into his home but the alarm is beep stand by and he starts dry firing at the robber
"One of the biggest questions I see asked is, how hard should I bend my hats visor"
Underrated
Such a great video. As a new Rifle owner I really loved this. Keep it coming and you've earned a subscriber for life.
Straightforward and to the point. Love this.
Sums up the important factors very well. Every rifle, pcc etc. needs to be purpose built. Only question is, what is YOUR purpose? Then train with that rig, and become competent and very familiar with the rig you’re using. Period.
"...don't clean it, just relube and keep going."
Somewhere out there, Drill Sergeants Payne and Crumpton, just had tiny, little strokes.
My question is why the heck you don’t 1m subs yet? You’re video is amazing! You’re one of the biggest reasons why I go to the range
I was wondering if you could put links to the core build of the rifle for people who don't know what you're talking about such as myself.
RUclips dislikes when people do that with guns and gun parts
Great content man, glad to see purpose over product.
This video was the blueprint for my Rifle build 2020
+Kyle H hahaha. Sounds good man!
T.REX ARMS you shot 16,000 rounds of wolf steel and that gun is still running and accurate enough?
At 50 yards and in, its probably fine as far as accuracy. If he was shooting a precision rifle course from 200+ yards, I doubt it would be any good.
T.REX ARMS ?
Paul Barclay No it isnt. A sub moa gun doesn't stay sub moa for 16000 rounds. Many precision rifle shooters change their barrels before 10k rounds.
Dude you're gonna be as legendary as hickok45
WakeTheDead300 slow down there slick, he may be legendary but never as much a hickok
As much as I like hickok, you can't really compare the two. Hickok is not a tactical shooter.
Fraqs hickok is like gun Jesus
as much as I like Hickok, i find he babbles a lot. this channel, is far and above, for practical shooters. We know H45 can hit whatever he is aiming at, but there's so much good training info on TREX, it's superior.
Scott Hayes Productions But Hickok isn't teaching you how to shoot or setup your gun. His is mostly gun reviews.
2:33 - show this to anyone who supports restricting magazine capacity.
Daniel Hesse literally
Just recently started watching this kid and no homo but I’m super impressed. He’s not condescending in any way, not a gorilla juice head claiming to be a spec ops war hero... just a regular, well spoken guy who knows what he’s doing.
Been watching his videos for a few years and this one still the best 🔥🔥
This guy is rapidly becoming my favorite go to...
I know his secret to shooting so fast...
the tactical butt stock cocaine dispenser
Holy shit that made me laugh
Ok.... This was very funny 🤣🤣
He just speeds up his videos, lol. In many of his videos, his spent brass practically breaks the sound barrier.
Or it could be all the Reign Energy Drinks that he’s been drinking lately
Lord forgive this man if anyone ever breaks into his home 😂
Amen to those guys
The beep would be the last thing they ever hear 😂

@@whomagoose6897 more like he gets an appointment with Jesus.
I dont understand why you dont have millions and millions of subscribers, you are awesome dude, keep it up
gotta give you some props your pretty fast and talented.
Been waiting for this video
About time I found someone who isn't my way is THE way. Accually telling everyone this is for me not for you but some may help you.
My hd setup

Streamlight xhl light

Ive played around with grips, atm I'm sticking with just a handstop.
Watching that 1R1 in slow motion video is a thing of beauty. Very pretty video.
