I like the new PvP but it's really tragic that they didn't remove idiots, tbh it was a pain but they are just waiting for 1.34.3 to remove idiots, classic Mojang move
You sure? I looked at the changelog for 1.34.3 and it doesn't say idiots were removed. I think they'll remain in the games until 2.7.1, which is the second part of Update Idiots.
Thats so fucking annoying, i'm fine with idiots in minecraft but what shluld really do a idiots update is youtube, the comments are usually a hellhole

2:14 let me explain this combo so this PvP is highly based on the new reach system every weapon has its own reach tridents have 3.5/4.5 and swords have 3-4 block reach to get the extra block of reach you have to wait for a charge hit also known as a 200% attack and the hits with only 3 block reach are 100% hits so what he was probably doing was switching between 200% and 100% hits to get a fast hitting combo using uppercuts

Jumping up when getting hit is called (jump reset) it’s a feature in bedrock, my guess is they are trying to equalize both versions
@RyGrassGaming i hope 1.19 kb isnt like bedrock, its gonna be very hard to combo with just jump resetting
Jump reset to reduce kb is already in bedrock in fact u can jump reset on older versions such as 1.7 or 1.8

ngl the pvp actually looks pretty fun, its really technical and i think movement will be really important but i feel like people who take the time to get good at it will be insane
Its impossible to excape comboes people laggy players become even more broken and not alot of people like it so they prob wont add it. This was also just one of the tests for 1.9 combat

Mojang should just release like a snapshot or version where its like fully up to date EXCEPT the combat mechanics are set yo thr 1.8 combat so then servers like hypixel and others can finally update

I think tridents didnt need this change, they were already a great ranged/ mobility tool and maybe they could have created a new "spear" to have this feature instead?
But with shields axes will still dominate as if u can safely get close with the shield without risk of being outranged,
I think its time the sword got some love tho cuz it feels like its getting a bit useless, maybe add the block feature back?
That way every tool has 2 uses
Axes for damage and shield breaking
Tridents for throwing and reach
Swords for combos and blocking

the whole timeline of Minecraft
1.18 pvp is actually a lot more fun to play and especially to watch than 1.8 pvp, the problem is just that a lot of minigames/ pvp-modes are made for spamclick pvp and are not redesigned for the new combat system.

I wouldn't say it's less fun, just harder to get into. 1.8 pvp really only gets good when you really understand what's going on, which makes it harder for new players to get into it.
