Watching you draw and erase and then paint -- your creation is beautiful, in and of itself, but it also makes me appreciate how difficult must be and how skilled the artisan when working with metal or stone. Thank you!

That is so cool! Would never guess the drawing of the knot could be broken down so easily. TFS

This was great! You made what looked very complicated into something that was very easy to understand 🍀🙂

Excellent job Sandy. Maith thú 👏👏! And greetings from Dublin! Lovely to see Celtic knot work done in watercolour like this and a really nice alternative to the ubiquitous shamrocks! You explain it really well and really the main thing to remember is you generally weave the knots over then under then over then under etc etc. We’ll welcome you as an honorary Irish cailín for the day! Thank you for sharing 💚.

Ah thank you! I’m just an American giving honor to our Irish friends-and it looks like a bunch more artists will be doing the same🥰

Yes, that was exactly what my math teachers wanted: For us to be able to solve such geometric challenges in our own way. Great! I've drawn a few Celtic knots before, but my approach was always much more complicated. Thanks for this tutorial!

You've made it so easy, at least the sketch is. 😁 Your watercoloring is perfect but I think I'll try with pencil colors.

I love doing Celtic knotwork art - used to do it a lot and incorporate it into my work. I haven't done any for a while though - you've inspired me to get back to it. I can highly recommend the book by George Bain (it's quite old, but has been reprinted a few times!). And, don't worry, you don't need to be Irish to appreciate Celtic knotwork - Celtic also includes Scottish, Welsh... (I'm English with a half-Welsh husband, and the Scottish Highlands is one of my favourite places to visit - it's where I first fell in love with Celtic knotwork patterns)....with lots of similar patterns in Anglo-Saxon and Viking art too. And even if you don't personally have a link to a rich Celtic heritage - you can still enjoy the beautiful patterns 😊.

One hint…the half circles for the trefoil portion have to be a larger radius than the circle. The first time I did it, I just used the same setting on my compass and the trefoil was too small. Oops. Once I realized what I did wrong, it turned out fine. Now to paint it!

The instruction is really helpful, although i know that the erasing part is going to fry my brain 😅 but its just pencil, its always worth the extra time on art pieces that you especially enjoy 😊 this triquetra turned out beautiful.

You always make things look so easy, then I turn into all thumbs. I don’t mind practicing but supply prices keep going up. What is an economic practice watercolor paper that’s still decent? Help 😀
