I purchased 2 of the Z10 Pro Max boxes, 1 for our living room and 1 for the bedroom to replace the Firestick 4K's we were using and I have to say that they're very nice boxes, except for the remote controls included with the Z10 and Z11. Our boxes came with 2 remotes (the standard remote you see in this video and an extra legacy remote). Both remotes on both boxes DO NOT work if not pointed directly at the boxes, DO NOT work for anything (i.e watching OTA T.V using an external outside antenna, if the boxes are turned off), & are definitely NOT user friendly in a poorly lit room. At times, it also requires pushing the button 2 or 3 times before the box responds, I believe this is due to the I.R technology. I also found there was way too much button pushing to make your way through the MY TV app to use muscle memory for in the dark vs. Firestick all being on a lit screen. I wound up sending the bedroom box back and returning to the Firestick in that room. The remotes are my only complaint regarding these boxes, as it has very nice features and I would highly recommend Z Pro Max as long as it’s placed in a well lit room and you don’t mind having to point the remote directly at the box. I try to leave this review as many places as possible to help others out with a real world experience, but found a certain site owned by a guy named Tr*y Po*nt who claims to give UNBIASED product reviews, actually gives VERY BIASED product reviews and deletes truthful real world ones! Be wary of his product reviews!
Hey, thanks for reaching out and giving that review. You're absolutely right that IR technology is suspect meaning it's just doesn't work as well as it should. When it comes to the remotes being backlit one of the things that we sell are the covers that go to the remote that you stick in the light and it will light up enough light around the remote that you're covering that you can see the buttons. But yes you have to get rid of that IR because if you try to use that IR technology plugin that they have it, the remotes are very unfunctional so I never use them
A friend of mine has the Formuler 9, I have 2 Formuler Z11 Pro Max. He can go back in EPG and look for programs that was aired 2 week before, I can't. HELP. And I bought the Pro Max for his extra 32Gb but I can't make recordings on the memory???? So, whatfor the extra 32Gb can be used? My intention was the make recording on that part of the memory and to transfert these to my PC for editing.

Does your Buzz Box have a 2.5 hard disk if so try pulling out and see if it freezes I bought a 2Pack Mini USB Computer Fan but not using the card bus it has stop the freezing I just use a 512 sd mini card Buzz has gone down hill with help.

Sorry for my late reply. You're probably going to have to change your remote control and purchase the voice activated remote control that they sell. That way you can control the IR controls on your TV
I just bought the Z11 Pro Max and am really unhappy. The remote won't pair following their instructions. What is worse is the box freezes up after a few remote commands. I have to wait a while before I can enter more commands. I don't know if the remote is causing this or the box, but it is very frustrating. I haver reset the box and still it freezes.
do you need a smart tv for this to work, or can you use the unconnected regular 780p old lcd screen tv. I attach a chromecast device to my Regular old LCD screen and it can cast PC things to the TV screen just to give you context.
You can add whatever you like to the box, not your choice. Most videos that I found for set orientation all around fire stick. This Android device doesn't need to have its applications that are installed fixed. Am I off?
Would love to buy one but since switching isp my current formuler boxes do nothing but drop connection and I get the ! Next to wifi on both z8 and z10 pro max yet my google stick works perfectly

I do not see the options you are referring to, or at least i must admit i don't understand the options you are referring to. my portal is mac id based, yes i have the option of submitting a user/pass but i see no difference between the two connection methods
I believe you can record but it's mainly for the live TV side where you can schedule and record. If you have on demand on this device then there are several different options that give you the ability to go back and watch that when you want

Please keep in mind to record on one of these units. You have to add an external hard drive or memory because it does not allow you to use the internal memory
Have owed a few formuler boxes and they are fantastic for my needs but the 11 seems to be very buggy ATM going on the formuler forum posts will be holding off until they are ironed out

Now I have nvidia shield pro and you can't compare a real android tv box with that fake android... paying a lot of money cause mytvonline app. What a joke.

does the recording function you mentioned work with Portal connections or just .m3u connections?
Portal or m3u are both the same as they use the Mytvonline application.
