Thanks very much for that walk around , world's lucky to have guys like this that take it upon themselves to preserve this" old " equipment ! You can see in every one of these guys faces their pride in their part of that history! We had a very big and successful Versatile and IH dealer in our neighborhood so I saw lots of the new four-wheel drives in the 70's ,still a lot of them around and in use today! Hope his trailer is secure lots of real valuable stuff there ! All that signage in today's market is pretty special! Never saw a gas powered Versatile four-wheel drive interesting!! Thanks!
Sorry to be so offtopic but does any of you know of a trick to log back into an Instagram account?? I somehow lost the password. I would appreciate any tips you can offer me.
@Merrick Scott i really appreciate your reply. I got to the site through google and im trying it out now. Takes quite some time so I will reply here later with my results.
Saw you on Welker's video recently. Just getting back into farm stuff as a fan, so seeing this is interesting. My family is two generations of farming since they moved here as Ukrainian immigrants in the early 1900s. I'm in Winnipeg but got interested after watching the Welkers restore their Bud. I lived on and off a farm in Brokenhead when younger. Mostly just hung around and watched my uncles work. It's to much to get into farming now and since I didn't stay with it, I'd be lost now. Now you go to university to learn farming and take orders from Monsanto. After watching Welker's restore their Bud I want to make a 1/24 model of their 525 plus maybe a 747. Very hard to get reference and the 1/32 die-casts are a fortune, was going to use them as my plans and scale it up. I'll eyeball it as best I can with a few numbers I found on wheelbase etc. Maybe If I can I'll make a Versatile to, as long as Versatile doesn't sue me for copyrights, who knows what their lawyers would try. Has happened before to a couple of modellers. Before I ramble on, just wanted to say hi.
Thank You Mike for a very informative and interesting video. Just amazing what has been collected and preserved for us to look back on for many years to come. Versatile machinery is great. Take care and have a great day.
Great collection of Versatile equipment and folks will strong ties to the company. I’d like to hear more from the parts man. To know all the parts so well that it was committed to memory........impressive! It would be awesome to see some of the rare pieces restored & put under cover. Great vid Mike. Keep them coming.
Awesome Video on some Great Versatile History... And that was a Fantastic collection of Versatile Equipment plus lots of other tractor brands as well... Thanx for sharing...
This video was awesome mike. The big pull type new holland chopper was a 1600 and came with a 4 row head. Our neighbors used to custom chop for us with an 895 versatile on the front and in the late 80s early 90s this combination made a lot of feed in a hurry. Nothing like today, but back then it was awesome to watch! I should see if they have any pictures and maybe forward them to you
That brings back memories. We had a 103 & a 400 Versatile swather. I didn't run the 103 mush but I swathed many an acre with the 400. There were a lot of Versatile swathers & tractors around here 20 years ago but now I only know of a couple of tractors being used.
we have 2 veratile augers still. had a 18 foot pickup reel 400 versatile swather. with a homemade cab and air conditioner on the cab. also had a pull type sprayer once upon a time. so seeing this is great! thanks!
My dad bought a 400 swather New back in 82. Had the 6 cylinder for gas in it... back then.. everyone around here had one. You can still find a few parked in the bushes here and there...
Awesome vid👍I hope they can rebuild n save these Versatile machinery especially pull type harvester as one seen one vid on RUclips n was rebadged New Holland. Love Versatile photo poster with big tractor pulling pull type harvester. I hope Jason from BTP is watching this vid👍
my uncle Tony was the Versatile dealer in Swan River i remember as a kid going to his dealership Valley equipment also intersting in 1982 he invented the auger drive to move your grain auger at his shop
Wow i didn't know they made more than big tractors love your videos i have worked on small farms the biggest was about 2500 to3500 acers all was grass seed
Great job on the old tractors about 10 years ago some farmer near Cayuga ND had there own versatile tractor show some restored most still working a restored 100 gas was there as well most models were represented. there were even people from versatile there handing out hats and posters.
Yep that was us. Our first event was in 2009, we did another in 2012. At the 2012 event we had a pulling sled there and put the Versatiles to the test! It was awesome.
The old Pioneer swather caught me by surpise. There was only one l know of in the neighborhood during the fifties. The self propelled grain swathers were Owatonna. The neighbor would start the first round around the oats fields, the rest was cut by our put type swather, nothing or very little got run down. He was busy for 3 weeks. Most oats was swathed for both chopper threshing and most combining hear in northeast Wi. during the 50s and 60s.
My D100 I sold him had his drop box he needed as I got my tractor 10miles from that tractor wrecking yard. I still have a planetary from the prototype in mine. Don wanted it really bad but I wanted to keep it haha.
At 15:53. Thats the D100 I sold to Don. He came all the way to northern AB for it. 26hrs one way. He was full of information. I wish I would of recorded our conversation.
I’m looking for a set of 18.4x38 wheels for my D145. Want to put it on duals. Anyone know if a 700 or 800 cab will fit on a 145? Mines got a 5.9 Cummins in it now.
A really great collection!
Thanks a lot for showing!👍

Looks like a IH 350 Wheatland sitting behind the combine
Great video! I’ve never seen a gas Versatile, was surprised to know they ever built them.
Thank you for sharing your amazing history, love it. God bless you and your family
Great video Mike I really enjoy the walk around machinery tours especially of older stuff you don't get to see thanks again

Neat video, of all the things Versatile built and built well they couldn't build a harvester! Kind of a shame.

What a find!!
That pull combine toy would look good in your collection
My introduction too Versatile, was bidirectional. 1982. Dont really see those anymore.
At 15:53. Thats the D100 I sold to Don. He came all the way to northern AB for it. 26hrs one way. He was full of information. I wish I would of recorded our conversation.
Where you able to get him to part with one of those florescent signs or tractors. A lot of nice stuff, Is a shame it,s all sitting out in the weather.
Looks versatile
Brilliant.
Sweet old equipment here on the newer versatile tractors have u seen guys put 10 000 hrs on them?
Our johndeere dealer sells versatile tractors through our other dealer, AGCON EQUIPMENT winnipeg manitoba
i would like to understand what transaxial meant. you said you were going to explain it in other videos but I do not see those.
It means that it has a horizontal rotor before the crop was fed into the main axial cylinder used by most combines today
Wow!
I’m looking for a set of 18.4x38 wheels for my D145. Want to put it on duals. Anyone know if a 700 or 800 cab will fit on a 145? Mines got a 5.9 Cummins in it now.
It'd be great if you could get the guy that is talking closer to the camera
You where about 45 min from my house!
I always thought the combine looks like Case combine?
I'll have to go there seeing how it's not far for me, think he could do with some sheep to keep the weeds down, lol.
Cool video. Too bad it's exposed to the weather
great video but what a shame all that history sitting in a graveyard to rot
Tractors made of metal. Good old days;)
🤗
Geeze don't they have roundup in Canada, The Plainsman by Moline looked pretty cool..
