- We review the new Ghostbusters Afterlife Action Figures by Hasbro! These figures have been delayed till the launch on the film in March of 2021 but we were able to get a set of the core 4 Ghostbusters to review 8 months ahead of its intended release!

Hasbro knows exactly what they're doing. They knew GB fans would love movie figs in the same scale and animated style as the 80's toys.
Collecting many different toylines, Toy companies don't always do the obvious thing that would make fans excited, but I gotta give Hasbro credit that they've really nailed a lot of what the fans have wanted from Ghostbusters Toys for years... Whomever is running this brand, is really in tune with the fans. I'd love to interview them!
The Kenner classics are so good. And these figures are a good update to modernity

I really like the small terror dog that comes with Venkman. The blue color is how they appeared in the RGB show

There is the short promo they made before the main cartoon series came out which looks more like these toys.
Seeing all these again makes me wish I could go back to being a kid. The only thing I didn't have was the firehouse. God I loved the Ghostbusters and always will.
Might be time to do a grail hunt for a firehouse!

How have I never heard of these until today?! I'm soooo glad I came across this video! I just started buying The Real Ghostbusters action figures with Ray last week, and was planning to eventually buy them all. Now I know to wait for the better versions that are on their way.
Definitely getting these when they eventually do hit stores. Unfortunate about the delay, but appreciate you sharing your views on these with us.

I had a panic attack when you showed them in the ecto 1 and the firehouse, I have both. So I've never been so jealous and happy for someone at the same time!!!!

I have these, but they lack the Terror Dog and Slimer. They came with just two variants of the same ghosts (as they appeared in 2020 Toy Fair, just behind the ones out of card). Great review, suscribed.
I've been looking forward to these the most out of all the new Afterlife toys. Funny though that they didn't pair Slimer with Peter...Thanks, great review!!
Me too! I think the Terror Dog is the best out of the companion ghosts, the Fright Feature works great!
Just found Egon at target. Only figure left on the shelf. Not just of Egon, but the entire line!
WOW my first time here and it damn sure won't be my last.Everything you said about the Gohstbusters figures is true.We wanted those toys & yes it was worth the waiting.Be safe be blessed take care everyone.
Considering that the playmobil accessories are slightly oversized, i bet the traps and walkies will fit in the kenner Ghostbusters hands.
I also plan on putting the playmobil proton streams on the kenner Neutrona Wand.
I also think that the playmobil Terror Dogs will scale well with the kenner 5in figures.
I can confirm the Playmobil accessories work really well with the kenner and hasbro afterlife figures. My boys have been using them, and they work great, especially the Playmobil PKE meters.
hope you paid a nice hefty chunk to be able to get these early, the rest of us have to wait 10 months, we are all jealous, great review as always

I wonder if these have been pushed back again closer to November? Now that After Life will be a Nov 2021 release.

In the UK Peter and Winston come with the same ghosts as Egon and Ray just in different colors. I was quite disappointed we missed out on Slimer and a terror dog for some reason.

Can I ask how you got them so early?
Some of the orders that toy dealers made got shipped, I assume accidentally as they were told their orders were delayed, but they still showed up.
I picked up all 4 adults and kids today. Do you happen to know why the ghost figure extras have been changed? My Winston and Venkman have different ghost figures.

How well do they scale to the Plasma Series Ecto 1?
I'm in two minds whether to get these or some 6 inch figures. Only ever owned the Real Ghostbusters figures in the 80s, so I'd like to get movie representations. Just not sure if I should get these smaller ones to save space, or the more accurate ones.

I wish the new Ecto 1 toy was less super stylized and more a semi-accurate take on the movie car. My old kenner ecto is so faded and missing all of the parts so would love an even better one that worked with the scale.

I bought them yesterday but the ghosts included with Peter and Winston were different. I wanted terror dog and slimer.

I love these figures they have the look of what it Kenner did do the likeness of the Actors from 84 Ghostbusters and put them in toy form Now we have The Real Real Ghostbusters Hasbro you done good
Personally I prefer the RGBs, but curious if the ecto-1 works with the vintage reissues, especially if we're not getting a reissue kenner ecto-1.
I would assume it will, since the new Fright Features figures are the same scale as the vintage kenner ones. So the Ecto would have to be able to accommodate both.

What the....how the...!???? Great review of course, AMAZING job placing them in the old Kenner Firehouse and vehicles alongside the old school figures. What kind of price point will these be at?
I wish they would have honored the older Kenner purple background in some way. They look OK, but it's a little bland for my taste.
I believe they have a suggested retail price of 7.99 or 9.99. Yeah I do prefer the Purple and Yellow as well, but they get a pass from me since they also re-released the first wave figures lol

I just friggin realized the set I got is different! My Venkman and Zeddemore came with the same ghosts as Spengler and Stantz, but just repainted (no Slimer or Terror Dog). What a JIP! Look out for the variants, people! Uhg!

I'm honestly surprised they didn't reuse the RGB bodies with the new heads. Those would have added a little more diversity to the set... But hey, they still look awesome!
Yeah I could see that being a potential solution, but I love that we got the original RGBs back AND got these new figures as well. I think Mattel's movie releases for the 2016 movie can show how poorly Ghostbusters licenses can be handled.

Amazing. Lots of potencial for customozation!!! I wonder why hasbro cheaped out of giving them different bodies like the real ghostbusters. Like a taller Egon... a chubbier Stantz. Etc. Great review lucky dad.
These being 7.99 I can see this would be the place to cut. The FF Ghosts have action features and paint apps, the same bodies doesn't bother me as much.
@@GeekDadLife yeah but they could have added a couple of bucks more but you make a good point. Love them a lot. I will paint the packs the lights and labels. And maybe add the hose and gizmo with some custom made motorolas. Lol

That's a good idea! I think they got delayed because the march is supposed to promote the movie. SoI assume they're holding them back to help promote the movie (if it still keeps the March date)

They're probably seeing how well the film does first and sticking to the old faves first that they know will sell.

I like Ghostbusters but we really need some toys made in countries that put love into their products.
it's different from the original Fright Features that Kenner released in the 80's. I still want the characters to have the fright features instead. Also it's not good that their bodies are all the same unlike the orginal where Egon is taller and Ray is chunky. I still have my Kenner toys with me but they are all opened

@@GeekDadLife i disagree. lol. i collect GB figs, yes... but i don't like the cartoony look of these toys. But i also collect Ecto-1 toys, and i think the new one will look good on display with other figures AND with my other ecto-1s. i recently saw someone on instagram show off a custom repaint of the old kenner ecto-1 and they had pics with the plasma series and it actually looked good with them. so this new ecto-1 might also look decent with other figures.
I'd like to see them able to be posed in a combative stance when fighting the ghost

hey McFarlane , Hasbro is resting on the fact that we will buy these.......Take em to school, show them what can be done if you care about anything else besides how high you can squeeze profit margins. What would happen if someone who truly loved toys was in a position of power?........first thing I would do is release a up sized G1 Jetfire. then I guess I would make Black series quality Ghostbusters
@Trantor The Troll true, mcfarlane is hit or miss, mezco are great but too expessive, I think diamond select did a good job. So good that I could never find them for retail, so I missed them all.Didn't want to spend $250 on slimer off amazon!

These look good. I can see them being very fun toys for kids.
I don't understand how Hasbro can run most of their lines very well and compared to how Mattel handled the Ghostbusters franchise. It's just poor effort and sad.
The vintage packaging was the best I feel these like most modern toy packages look dull and lots of unnecessary packaging
Wonder what @retroblasting would think of these.
I know Michael liked the return of 5 POA for the Rogue One toys. He also lamented not having Movie style toys in his review of the Real Ghostbusters line. I hope he reviews these as well!

Weird Ghostbusters fact.. The only character of heroes in the series that was snubbed of a toy was a guy in a wheelchair in the New Ghostbusters generation series.. Nerd fact for y'all..
