This looks like it would've been an awesome but long ride, I definitely get why they condensed it. Plus I think it would've been a pain for them if they actually had to have a cast member waiting for each raft to make it up to the top. Although I think it would've been awesome to see a Pteranodon on the ride. Thoroughly impressed with your storytelling. The use of the music, sound effects and ride sounds really made me feel like I was experiencing the ride. Great work!
This is so amazing! Jurassic Park The Ride could be more awesome than real one, although the real one was an amazing too. Also, Caleb's score is so wonderful! Love it so much!. I didn't know there was a giant dragon flies
This is just truly amazing! And I’m brainstorming words on if I were to introduce like this…. “Could you image Jurassic Park: the ride that would’ve looked totally different back then? Well, believe it or not, it almost went into fruition. From giant dragonflies to velociraptors devouring a rescuer to a giant T-Rex’s head emerging from the waterfalls, here is a video-reel of scrapped storyboard ideas about how the once popular ride at Universal Studios Hollywood in California that almost dived into a different light.”
When I first heard about the ride as a kid, I could not help but smile that they had Stegosaurus in it. It remains one of my bigger disappointments the dinosaur did not show up in the first movie.
This is fascinating! This concept was probably attached to a storyboard of the movie. And for Jesus! The soundtrack at the beginning is simply captivating, enigmatic, sweet drums with a simple Jurassic Park theme in its welcome. Wow, a vision of the park that no Jurassic World will ever bring us and that I will always long for. Your settings are always the best, music, diction etc... As a paleontologist, I am proud of your work. These documentaries, along with John Hammond's Jurassic Times, surprise me that I have never seen them before.
Thank you so much, that means a lot! You may like my upcoming novel then. Although it won't be too scientifically accurate. ;) derrickdavismedia.com/invertiverse/
Because it probably would of been expensive and probably a pain to keep it up and running not to mention the size of the ride would of been too big for the park because while Universal Studios Hollywood itself is decently big but it is still small compared to Universal’s and other parks like Orlando not to mention Disneyland, and DisneyWorld so… although I do agree that this would of been EPIC! If this version was made

A *big* part of me would like to see you give the long-lost "Jeep Safari" ride (originally planned for Islands of Adventure) this kind of treatment. Note: I've seen the concept art for the ride on your site before. Pertaining to the Aviary in particular, one piece of concept art mentions the pterosaurs as being Cearadactylus (the pterosaur from the original Crichton novel), while another piece labels the Aviary as the 'Pteranodon Aviary.' So it seems like in the early planning stages of the ride, Gary Goddard and company were truing to figure out which pterosaur species to feature in the Aviary scene (before that was ultimately scrapped).
Unfortunately there hasn't been quite enough to really be able to do one for the jeep. :/ Or some of the other unrealized versions of attractions. We just got REAL lucky with this one.
That would of been so cool to ride. Sadly we didn't get it. I'm thinking we didn't get et it because of how big it would of been, the price to build it and maybe tech linitations
I would imagine this ride would be pretty doable nowadays. Instead of it being available 24/7, do what Disney does with some rides and have select groups reserve spots throughout the day. Maybe the ride operates from 8-10, then 1-3, etc. That way the workers throughout each shift will focus on quality in short bursts instead of operating the ride all day.
*WOW!* What a VERY nice Thanksgiving surprise! :) BTW, how did the rest of the 'Hadrosaur Ravine" narration go? Darn irate Parasaurolophus cut it off (LOL!).

@@JurassicTime That IS something! Now that particular piece of concept art suggests the Spino met its fate at the jaws of a much larger theropod...most likely the T-Rex. @@nancyfaulkner5908 That piece of concept art was drawn up at a time where there wasn't much scientific evidence to go off of as far as Spinosaurus' look. Back in the 90s, it was thought to have an Allosaurus-like head until later fossil discoveries revealed it had a long-snouted head (hence why "JP3's" Spinosaurus is portrayed with a crocodile-esque skull).
I'm sorry to hear that. :( If you're able to, the one in Orlando is very similar to how the Hollywood ride once was, and in some ways is even better! Who knows how much longer it will remain in that state, so I would try to go there as soon as possible if you really want to go on it.

Jurassic Park the ride is so awesome. I remember riding it 18 years ago and it was so cool. Crichton deserves all the credit.
The Jurassic Park River Adventure is such an amazing theme park attraction. This is so awesome to see

Universal studios did not spare no expense because the orginial version was not built due to budget reasons
Man I think this would work great in vr.
Amazing! I miss the old The Ride in Universal Parks. I dont know about the Aviary in the original project.
1:39 Were passengers actually required to wear life vests before boarding the raft?
No, not at all. Some people chose to wear ponchos to protect themselves from water, but that's it.

What happened to the guy that was trying to help the people in the boat?
