When I grew up there I never had the feeling that downtown Omaha was a ghost town because almost no pedestrians is all I knew. Now, 43 years after I moved away that's exactly the feeling I get; ghost town because since then I've lived in and travelled around dozens cities where the downtown area is swarming with people on the sidewalks especially in Latin America where I live now. But, in Omaha nobody ever came up to me and asked for money EVER. I never knew there was such a thing as homeless people. There was no grafitti and still not, looks like. I used to go downtown with my dad and when he parked he would just leave the keys in the ignition. Nobody was gonna steal your car. We did have a key to our front door, I think, but we never locked it. Nobody was gonna come into your house. It was a beautiful way to grow up. The Big O.
My mom grew up in North Omaha. She spent her childhood at Miller Park school. Anyway, I'm taliking about the early 1950's when I was a kid. I'm gonna be 78 next month. So consider that in those days things were different. As an adult I lived North of Hamilton on 35th and got burgled. @@benjohnson2205
Still looks like a very nice city. The downtown looks similar to Salt Lake City, but without the homeless drug addict zombies. I didn't see any homeless tents along the way. We need to see more of the main city and residential areas. Would like to see the bad areas of the city too. The city has great potential. Population growth should be much greater than it is. The very cold winters is probably the most compelling reason for people not wanting to live in this nice city.
We agree! It’s a great Midwestern city. And they are building a new tall skyscraper for the HQ for Omaha Mutual. We pass that site and you can see the banner advertising that. Thanks for watching!! Please subscribe to our channel if you haven’t. We have 150+ video tours and growing every day.
I'm super confused. I thought this was a film of downtown Omaha. However, there wasnt any footage of the re-designed Gene Leahy mall, or the Heartland park. Or the Old Market. Or the FNBO building with the statues that are all over that area. There are some cool things in downtown Omaha that I feel should have been shown here instead of leading us out of downtown to mid-town and then to south 60th which is definitely not downtown.
Thanks for watching. This is a road tour video of Omaha. We do go downtown Omaha, but we can’t possibly go everywhere. Our videos are about 25 mins long on average, people’s attention span is typically no longer than 5 mins on average. We go downtown & around downtown.
Hey, Id like to ask you whether you would accept me living there as a gay man? How is that city for gay couples and lgbt community? Would you accept me living there or would you have a problem with me living there as a gay man? 😊

And it’s still a great city. I wish to add, this was a Sunday. Not uncommon to see things a bit slower in these Midwest cities on Sundays.
you didn't grow up in North Omaha that's why!
My mom grew up in North Omaha. She spent her childhood at Miller Park school. Is that North Omaha enough for ya?

Omaha looks nice. I'm in Milwaukee, a great place on a great lake 🌊
Thanks for watching! We have a couple Milwaukee videos on our channel: a nice city as well!
What month was this filmed in?
judging by the tree and grass color, and clouds, I would say it's August-September. had late rain in the summer instead of spring last year.

The only interstate we drove on in omaha was interstate 80 which lies south of downtown.
Cool. That’s the main (and only) East + West highway, most people travel that. Thanks for watching!

Omaha good
Which day of the week is this? Least busy and layed-back downtown I've seen, probably.
Sunday. Thanks for watching!
