I'm embarrassed to admit but I had a tear in my eye the first time I heard Everytime. It's more heartbreaking now, like Lucky. But Toxic and Boys are my top Britney songs.
@@MegTheGreat82 to be honest with you I'm not a Britney fan but there is something incredibly haunting about that song, and the video, WOW! It really does give you insight into that poor woman's state of mind and what she dealt with
Britney was just 19 when this song was released. This song was huge when I was in high school. I don't think I've heard the entire thing until today though. Britney was one of those musical artists people either absolutely used to avoid or loved.
@@SidixGuedes Indeed! That outfit was amazing and some can disagree with me, but I think she started the 'extra-sexy award show female performances' with that right there! @@angelika_munkastrap4634 As a teen at the time I hated it but now with many years behind me I recognize it now as one of the great pop songs of this century
Hmmmmm well ok, maybe I'll give it another listen then. It's sure been a long time, and tastes do change. I also hated once Cher made a change to electronic sound, stopped listening to her at Do You Believe in Life After Love
If you wanna hear a different side of her, listen to the song "Everytime" (and watch the music video!). It's the total opposite of this and "...Baby One More Time". 😊
Wow, I can't believe this song is 21 years old already. I remember watching the world premiere on MTV back then after they showed the making of of this video. Interesting fact, during the shooting a camera fell on Britney's head. Luckily it was nothing serious.
I love Britney!!! My favorite song of hers is "Everytime." You also have to check out "Inside Out." It was the best song on her "Femme Fatale" CD. A lot of us thought it would've been a huge smash hit, but for some reason, it was never released as a single.
When you're 31 years old and still have to do Britney's dance everytime you listen to this song alone. 😎 It's been instilled in me since I was in the 5th grade.
Definitely try 'Stronger' and 'Toxic' by Britney Spears. Also 'Everytime' is a really beautiful, sad song, and completely different to this one and a lot of her other material. It's definitely worth watching the music video for that one. I'd love to see your reaction!
You should try from first album: *Sometimes *(You Drive Me) Crazy *I Was Born To Make You Happy *From The Bottom of My Broken Heart from second album: *Lucky *Stronger *Don't Let Me Be The Last To Know
My 2 oldest daughters LOVED her! I took them to see her and N'Sync together in my area when they were 11 & 10. They were in awe and so excited. My oleat passed away 18 months ago at the agenof 30. I'm glad I could give her that experience when she was young.
the enormity of Spear's presence in Pop Culture in the year 2000 can't be overstated... this album debuted at #1, sold more than 1.3 million copies in the first week, setting records, and she signed an $8 million deal with Pepsi and was in numerous commercials for them... she was everywhere!
I love Britney Spears. She has some of the best pop songs ever written. Born to Make You Happy, You Drive me Crazy, Overprotected and Stronger are all amazing.
Brittney was/is/came to perform! She never disappointed. You can tell she always worked hard & had drive and determination. So saddening how the industry did her. I have always been a huge Britney fan, since like 8th grade lol
You can't be mad at her. It's an anthem for all the girls out there who have been played. Guys release songs about their conquests and bragging about being "players" all the time especially back then. I thought it was great how she flipped it. It's also a great great pop record.
Christina Aguilera had some great songs around the same time. 'Genie in a Bottle', and later 'Beautiful', 'Fighter','Can't Hold Us Down' all great tracks
Check out Britney's, "I'm Not A Girl, Not Yet A Woman." You get to her more of her natural voice instead of the "baby voice." She's on a cliff in the video and apparently "heavy winds almost dropped her over."
You know, in the overhead shot on this video the camera fell off and crashed on her head so they had to stop the shot for a day, but she came back like a champ. I didn't appreaciate her that much when she came out but she was a hard worker alright.
Remember she was 19 years old when she did this song, she had no idea of the impact it would make and it really speaks to how teenage boys latch on to teenage girls so hard - we know it most often doesn’t work out for the girls 😢
Does anyone remember that MTV show "Making the Video"? It was an hour show that, well, showed how a vid was made and then at the end the vid made its world premiere. As clear as if it was yesterday, I remember watching the ep and subsequent debut of "Oops I Did it Again" with my girlfriends. We taped the music vid and had the dance down by nightfall. Those were the days:)
When I was a little girl Prince's "Little Red Corvette" was quite popular. I thought Trojans were horses. I had no idea the real meaning, of course. There was also Juice Newton's "Angel of the Morning". I loved her back then and still do. I thought she was talking about a literal angel :)
You hear that this is a Max Martin song... you hear Backstreet Boys in this song This track was written and produced by Max Martin and Rami Yacoub, while background vocals were provided by Martin and Nana Hedin. You don’t know who Max Martin is? Just check him up on Wikipedia
I remember a time when MTV (and the M on its name was real) had the TOP 10 or whatever, and for a while, Britney was always in number 1 with whatever video... good production and catchy songs...
Yes, this was the time when they still had great budgets for videos. You can think about Britney what you want and she definitely had her problems in her career - but this is a killer song also almost 20 years later. It was the time when there were a ton of mars movies (red planet, etc) and a few years after Titanic. („I though the old lady had dropped it into the ocean!“ - „I went down and got it for you.“ - „ough, no, you shouln‘t have…!“) Oops, I did it again to your heart! So great. And her red latex outfit is legendary!
I love Britney she has some JAMS! Toxic is a JAM.

SAVAGE ROBOT

Look her up
And ALL THE REST OF THEM
ALL EVIL DECIVERS
Can't wait till he does, A Piece of Me !
Toxic is my fave!
I think im ready now, i think im ready now...
She has some? She has tons
she is standing still after all that she has been through... i love this girl.
This song was HUGE 21 years ago.
oh, Wow. I got Old.
I'm sorry, I can't reply to this because I'm so old I've died and decomposed.
Omg.... 🤦🏼♀️
It still is huge. I wasn't even born when the song came out and I know every word by heart lol
Damn i feel old
Her performance to this at the 2000 VMA’s is legendary and pretty much made history & made the headlines for it. Cheers!
LOVE that performance!! 🙌❤️🔥
You gotta hear Everytime, her response to Justin Timberlakes' Cry Me a River. Toxic is great too!
Toxic is the best 🎶
I'm embarrassed to admit but I had a tear in my eye the first time I heard Everytime. It's more heartbreaking now, like Lucky.
But Toxic and Boys are my top Britney songs.
"In the Zone"(Britney) "get Rich or Die Tryin'" (50 Cent) and "American Idiot" (Green Day) were my favorite albums from the early 2000s.

Totally. The older I get the less guilty I feel about it though.
Wearing a Beatles tee and listening to Brittany Spears. That’s variety. Lol
Haha!
Check out "Womanizer", Jay! You'll say, "damn, I feel attacked!" 🤣 Pretty sure all men felt that one.
For songs that stick in your mind, you might want to check out Kylie Minogue’s ‘Can’t Get You Out Of My Head’.
Ohhh lol thanks! Now it's stuck in my head again! Just hearing the name!! LOL It is a very catchy song, and it's not too bad either. Peace! =)

This is so late 90’s early 00’s. The latex, sci-fi futurism, hair extensions, glossy lip and fire. Haha

The Titanic reference

Britney Spears - Piece of me - Toxic - Womanizer - Gimme more
I just wish they let her sing in her natural voice instead of the childish voice. Her natural singing voice is incredible.
She wouldn't have been as successful though, it was a point of difference
When did you ever hear it? It's so heavily auto-tuned. I took my daughter to see her and she didn't sing one note.
