      This is why, despite having makita for the last 15 years, I'm slowly moving to Milwaukee.
      As an electrician the big thing was the milwaukee packout area light. Today I'm going in to do a main distribution changeover. I can plug this light in to make use of wall power and have it charging the battery. When I knock mains power off the light wont even flicker, itll automatically kick over to battery at same settings. Doing this way the light with 3000lumens is more than enough for me to see anything I need, I can angle the 3 lights any way I need, and 1 5ah keeps me going all day though it's good to know that I can go as high as 12ah should I really need 2 days of runtime

      I think it's mainly about heat , as the batts sit in a dust proof watertight compartment inside the lights - charging in that environment could be problematic. Also no charge electronics in the lights keeps them cheaper, lighter and less prone to failure . In a perfect world it would be great. But all things considered I don't feel it's a miss at all, and think it's better to keep charging separate.

    LED lights sure have come a long way - but they’re still quite pricey.
    Love the “wobble light” (I have the original).
    Job site lighting is a real issue. My one big job mistake was a direct result of inadequate lighting.
    I can see these finding a secondary market as emergency lighting (for when the power fails). Rechargeable batteries with a shelf life - how far they’ve come as well.

    Been waiting for this video from you for quite a while, but you knocked it out of the park. Only real video where all of them have been compared together. Quite pumped for these to get remodeled into XGT so we can have the higher Ah batteries and run them for significantly longer. Getting two 811's seems like the best compromise so you could spread the light source from two directions, might mod them to have a diffuse cover get more even lighting.

    • @ToolsAndStuffOFFICIAL

    I have the 805 , have had for years. Great for when I’m working in a roof or down the side of house.
    But was looking at buying more of area light.
    I like the novelty of the channel maker and that it throws light in all directions without have to move it.
    Was going to grab one a few weeks ago but Sydney tools didn’t have it in stock.
    I bough the new hand held touch. For what it is It works really well. Highly recommend.

    In all honesty, Milwaukee dominates the lighting sector of the cordless market. It's nice to see Makita have finally made an attempt at competing but it's years too late and I still think They're behind.
    That 10k lm unit looks decent mind.

    • @jaywelker5566
      @jaywelker5566 3 года назад +3

      they're not missing anything crucial anymore. All these lights (except the rocket light) came out around the same time too, so they knocked out everything they were desperately missing in one go. Better late than never is the only thing worth saying about it at this point.
